We are now 5 days and some odd hours before we begin our trip to Disney World and 6 days before we are in the World. And I think someone really doesn’t want me to enjoy this pre-trip. I’m still having ankle problems, with no idea as to what’s causing it, but have accepted that, and have made plans in case of a flare up. So that’s settled (In my mind anyway), and then my poor boss gets word that her FIL has lung cancer on top of prostate cancer, asthma, and a whole slew of other complications. She’s out as much as possible this week, and we’re all just crossing our fingers for the next couple of weeks. It helps that we’re a close workplace and everyone is willing to play musical schedules. We all also know that there’s not much anyone can do, so are coping with the hurdles. And I’m starting to get really excited. Almost everything is bought, the cats have people coming to check on them (we have 3- 4, 12, and 18), we’re stocking up on food for them, the ressies have been made and I’ve started packing. And then today.
I’m driving home from a decent day at work, looking forward to our afternoon of making our Disney shirts when I got rear-ended. Big time. I was sitting at a 4-way waiting for the cars in front of me to turn left when I got slammed by a car flying up behind me. I locked up the brakes so I didn’t rear-end the truck in front of me (thank goodness!), but he did some major damage to my car. Like I have no back end damage. It’s at the garage (and getting it there was it’s own ordeal) and I have a rental, so I can at least get to work. The whole thing is the guy’s fault- he told the cop he wasn’t looking at the road, but was looking at his pants. O_o His insurance (he introduced himself- “Hi, I’m Eric, and I have insurance”) is going to have to pay for all my repairs and for my rental, so I’m covered with all that (thank goodness for insurance!), but boy am I sore. My arms ache, my back aches, my legs ache, my neck aches, and even my hands ache. I’ve already put in the claim with my insurance, from the side of the road waiting for the tow-truck, so they are handling their end, and his insurance has been contacted by mine. Let’s hope it gets taken care of quickly!
It’s going to be fun dealing with this as we try to get ready for vacation though! All I know is one thing- I am going on vacation, and I am going to have a good time!

Sorry about the accident - been there, done that, so sorry! At least he had insurance, my guy was driving someone else's car and neither had insurance. The joy of dealing....not. Take care of yourself and get ready for your happy place!
Thanks for the good wishes everyone! I am not hurt, though still a little sore- which is to be expected, and a big relief!
Day 4
I’m still waiting to hear from the appraiser regarding my car. I got one call from him this morning telling me that the garage estimated about $3,300 worth of damage. Now I’m waiting for him to determine my car’s worth and for the insurance company to decide what to do with it. I hate being in limbo.
My boss’s poor FIL is not doing well, and I’m switching shifts so that we can cover her hours without being short staffed. Not that I mind working the morning shift instead of the evening shift, but I don’t care for the circumstances. I’ve also started to arrange backup coverage for my vacation, since it will probably be needed. This way someone can just call one of the backups in if she needs time off. And I’m sure she will. Meantime, I’m acting in her place trying to do what parts of her job I can, as well as mine (Youth Librarian). It’s a bit trying to act as director right now, since I totally don’t look professional. At all. See, this year I challenged all the kids in town to read for 50,000 minutes during my 6 week summer reading program. If they did I would dye my hair pink- really dye it, not just the spray in kind. And boy howdy, did they take me up on my challenge. They ended up reading 59,821 minutes. Almost twice what their normal average was. So I dyed my hair. A very bright pink. More of a magenta really. And it’s causing a bit of a stir among our patrons. Most love it, especially since it is for a good cause, but it’s difficult to get someone to take you seriously with bright magenta hair. This is what my hair currently looks like: . (I had light brown/dark blonde hair before) I like it though. It’s totally fun.
While I am at work all day the BF is supposed to be getting things ready around the house. But really hasn’t been. Today he spent the day with his (annoying) brother doing who knows what. I’m a little perturbed. I am also bound and determined that while I’m working extra hours I’m not going to come home and wash dishes because he didn’t feel like it.
Anyway, that’s what’s going on today!

Well I just got a call from my insurance company, they are totaling my car. Now I need to wait and find out what they are offering me as a settlement and all that. I also need to think about calling the dr's office because I'm still really sore and have had a headache for two and a half days. They might be able to give me something for the owies.

Love the hair! Sorry about the car being totalled....hope you get a settlement that will enable you to get something to replace it.
more for your owies, and see a Dr if you have had that headache for that long!
LOL... Glad that you weren't hurt - but I wished that you would have gotten checked out... (JUST in case)... I think that the hair is REALLY ... At least I should be able to find you in the crowd when we meet.... Definitely, go and see the doc...
