| I'm all caught up now, Cathy! The pictures of the girls in Pixie Hollow are simply priceless! I'm pretty sure that is the very same Tink we had and she really is incredible, the best of Disney. Can't wait for more!

| I'm so glad your tummy trouble went away, that would not have been a happy morning if you'd missed the opening ceremony with your family on your first day . Your morning sounds just perfect now, no motion sickness for Kevin and your getting lots done! Isn't it fun when the kids are old enough to ride together and you get to ride with your DH? Hurry back with more please!

It is a different experience when the kids get older and can ride on their own. More time and freedom for you as a couple, but a bit sad that you're not right there sharing everything with them, too. You know you were one of my inspirations to look for more great photo ops, Beth! I wish I could have taken more...

| Hot, hot, hot. So humid, too. (My kind of weather! (Quick NOTE: I see by reading Cory’s TR that I forgot about a little ‘incident’ earlier in the day – but I’ll let her have the fun of telling about it!!) I also forgot to mention that before we left the Mountains, I had grabbed a set of FPs for BTMRR later in the day. Since we had just eaten lunch, we thought it best to wait a bit before we embarked on another ride through the wilderness, and headed over to Adventureland. PoTC was calling my name…and so was the Pirate Tutorial! PoTC was a virtual walk-on this afternoon; and it was so delightful to escape the blistering heat and take a cool boat ride. This year, Kelley was prepared for the little drop! We spent a fair amount of time in the gift shop – I was still looking around for the ‘perfect’ Mickey tee and saw lots of other things to tempt my wallet. I also had to keep encouraging the girls to remember to pin trade. This was their first time trying out this activity and they were still feeling unsure about how it all worked. But one CM standing at the registers seemed to attract Kelley’s attention after I prompted her not to forget to look at the CM’s lanyards. We walked over to him (he looked like an old pirate himself!) and I asked if Kelley could look at his pins. He was very sweet and Kelley immediately spotted a pin she liked (Baby Snow White) and unexpectedly asked, “Would you trade this pin for that one?” I was so proud of her to take the initiative and make the trade herself! Kelley is very reserved and this was a big accomplishment for her. ![]() After that first trade, the girls had no more problems approaching the CMs to look over their pins; by the end of the trip, they each traded all the pins they had brought with them. Bathroom break again. By this time (I think it was around 1:30pm) we had stopped at no less than 4 bathrooms since we arrived. The two of us get along extremely well and I really want to be able to take just a me-and-her trip sometime. At the same time, it was nice to be able to spend time with just my younger girls, too.We saw Peter Pan and Wendy getting ready to do some autographs, but the line that followed them was tremendously long – so we skipped it. Capt. Hook and Smee were out, too (we saw them last trip) but I gotta tell ya, after seeing Capt. Jack Sparrow, James Cook is just a little, well, tame. Unless of course, they had a Jason Isaacs’ version of Hook! I’d line up then! ![]() Captain Jack’s Pirate Tutorial was scheduled to start in about 45 min., so we filled in the time by heading over to the Enchanted Tiki Room (a first for us.) Then we walked back over to scope out the area where the Pirate Tutorial would be held and watch for signs that it was getting ready to begin. I really wanted Kelley and Cory to try and be chosen to participate! ![]() Before the trip, we had read about this show, and watched the movie again – and I told the girls if they wanted to be chosen, we had to get there early and stand in the front, and they had to be very enthusiastic in getting Capt. Jack’s attention. I was fairly certain Kelley would not want to do it (she didn’t!) but Cory was determined to have a sword fight with Jack. We expected the show to be at the stage area across from PoTC, but instead, it was moved to the side of the attraction between two buildings. I’m not sure if that had anything to do with the tragic death of one of the performers earlier this summer… ![]() ![]() ![]() Cory ‘tried’ very hard to be seen – although I haveseen her jump up and down obnoxiously with her hand in the air in a good imitation of Hermione Granger – but this time I think she might have been a bit shy around Capt. Jack. So no sword fight for Cory this trip. We still enjoyed the show – and I got to have my own bit of interaction with Capt. Jack Sparrow before this trip was over! ![]() Time to use those FPs for BTMRR – but it was down! We’d have to come back later in the day… Now – remember how this trip I wanted to let Kevin have some say about what we did? Well, it was time for him to take the lead, and I graciously told we’d go with him and do anything he wanted. Guess what? He had no clue what he wanted. “You’re the Disney expert – we’ll just follow you.” I’m not going to say I told you so, but…. We decided to meander over to Fantasyland and see what was going on. That’s when I realized I hadn’t picked up FPs for Mickey’s Philharmagic before lunch! By the time we got there, the FP machines were all covered up (so not sure if they were out or hadn’t been used that day.) ![]() The stand-by line was at 40 minutes and we had ADRs at LTT coming up shortly. Most everything else was at about 30 min. stand-by, so we opted instead to take a ride on Cinderella’s Golden Carousel. Kevin doesn’t do anything that spins – even carousels – so he stood by to video our ride. And thanks to Beth (mom_to_3_princesses_and_1_prince) Cory was able to spot Cinderella’s horse (with the golden bow on her tail) and ride! She was pretty pleased with herself. Kelley and I rode behind her and waved for the camera. (these were captured from video, so they're a bit blurry...) ![]() Cory in the middle, waving. ![]() We walked back down to Liberty Square as dinnertime was fast approaching. There was just time to see the Hall of Presidents – but first, Kevin (and the rest of us) needed some liquid refreshment, and we stopped at a little stand right next door. While we were there, a very kind CM came up to Cory and gave her a fruit rollup in honor of her birthday – and then handed Kelley one, too. This was our first visit to The Hall of Presidents; Cory and Kelley enjoyed examining the First Ladies’ gowns and accoutrements while we waited for the show to begin. And yes, I’ll admit I cried during some of it and had to quickly dry my eyes when it was time to leave. We walked across to Liberty Tree Tavern for our 4:50 ADR. When I had booked this, I had forgotten that it was no longer a character dinner – but I was hoping the food would still be delicious. And we were not disappointed. Our server was Betsey (not Ross, unfortunately!) and she took good care of us. I loved the theme of the whole place and took a few photos while we waited. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() As soon as our ‘thanksgiving feast’ was delivered, however, I was too hungry to snap any photos! Cory got a birthday cupcake. ![]() Cont. in next post...

| A photo of Kevin and the girls waiting to be called for our table. He said "Now I feel like you did this morning!" ![]() ![]() After dinner, we walked down to Main Street to do some shopping. We stopped on the way and caught the end of Dream Along With Mickey. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I still hadn’t found my Mickey shirt, and Kevin and I needed to find some ears to complete our costumes for tomorrow night’s MNSSHP. Kevin got a basic pair of Mickey ears; I found a Minnie glitter headband with a sparkly red bow; Kelley bought a little Minnie Mouse plush and Cory found a Marie pin she couldn’t live without. We also found a very special Tinkerbell pen as a surprise for a very special lady. And I finally settled on a Mickey tee; it wasn’t exactly what I had in mind – but I wanted something white and lightweight because tomorrow was supposed to be another extremely hot day. Main Street Bakery was calling to me from across the street – but we were too full from dinner to even think of getting anything. We made a mental note to stop there tomorrow evening. Now, the evening’s plan called for seeing both Spectromagic Parade and Wishes. I felt particularly strong about Wishes, as we had left MK during the fireworks on our first trip – and I felt so sad about missing them. But I knew we had another very late evening planned for tomorrow (and Kevin was getting exhausted,) so the compromise was to stake out a spot for the parade, and afterwards walk down to the flagpole area on Main Street to see the fireworks and make a quick exit to the buses. Cory was feeling upset; she wanted to go to the Astro Orbitor and GBS that we had missed earlier. We promised her we’d hit both of them the next evening, as it was getting to be the time to find our perfect viewing location for Spectro…. UP NEXT : “How Long Do We Have to Wait?!!??” and a Spectro-tacular End to a Magical Day
