| One Spooky Trip Reporting LIVE! Travellers: Me...disneygramma (aka Linda) age 55 years young Little Princess (aka Kaitlin, my grand daughter) age 9 This trip celebrates: a nice long weekend with no school! Our city has a special arts festival every fall that is so large they close the schools on Friday and don't open again until Wednesday. The festival is only on Fri-Sun, but then they have conference day and a professional development day added in so, voila first come first served for staff on getting a 5 day weekend! Also celebrating our first trip to stay at Bay Lake Towers (in a Kingdom View Room), our first bonding trip without any other family members, our first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, andour first EPCOT Food and Wine Festival. WooHoo! Now on with the Report: Hi from the world everyone! What an interesting day we had getting here! Ok, we left home this morning and arrived at the airport at 10:30. Our flight was scheduled for departure at 12:40. I like to arrive at the suggested 2 hour window. We got through security just fine. We knew we had about 1 1/4 hours until boarding, so rather than go to a restaurant (which in SDF meant going down a floor and then returning through security) we chose to go to the starbucks. Kaitlin (DGD) got a chocolate milk and a chocolate muffin (kids!) I got a blueberry scone and a pumpkin spice latte (um where was the pumpkin flavor?). We found a table and set out to enjoy our litle mid-morning brunch. I turned on my trusty netbook (using it now) and checked on our flight. WHAT!!! The flight was going to be delayed 15 minutes. OMG this would be a problem as we were originally only going to have 47 minutes until our connection would depart from Atlanta (yes that BIG place), now we were gonna have 30 minutes and that would be cutting it close. I decided to use my cell phone to contact DELTA about having someone meet our plane and get me transport (either a wheelchair or a cart) so that I could make that journey. I explained that I have a problem with my right leg and foot and can not walk that fast. The agent checked and stated that I would not make my connection anyway as now the flight was going to be 45 minutes late, and there is no way I could make a connection in time. YIKES! Soooo, I asked about the next available flight out after the one we were gonna miss. She found that there was one leaving an hour after our original one and there were still seats available. SCORE! So I booked us on that flight. Eventually our flight was called and we boarded. A nice smooth flight. So now we were arriving at ATL. Unfortunately for many passengers that were scheduled to get the connection that we had been scheduled on...they missed theirs because when we arrived, not only were we late, but any hope they may have ahd of running to get the flight disappeared when the plane had to hold for almost 15 minutes for a gate. There were some dismayed passengers. When we arrived, Kaitlin and I quickly found our departing gate, and I went to the agent as we now needed new boarding passes. AT first she was unable to print them, after several attemps she printed them, it was due to the baggage or something. Its all good. Anyway, several other passengers must have followed us to that counter as there was a family that managed to snag some seats and a few others got there, but many of the passengers were put on standby as it was finally a sold out flight. We sat down and split a grilled chicken sandwhich and a bottle of water. Finally we boarded. Oooooo talk about cramped. It was totally filled to capacity and they were even taking some passengers rolling carryons to be put into checked baggage as room ran out. We did not have that problem (no rolling bags). Got to our seat, and had to ask the person sitting there to please let us by to get into our seats a she was sitting in the aisle seat and we had the other two. She finally did look up and slowly moved to let us by (which had caused a backup of other passengers as we were standing and blocking the aisle). Poepl kept coming and coming. Somehow they mahnaged to let on more passengers than there were seats, and so they started hustling the excess standby fliers off. Anyway, the flight departed on time and we actually arrived a few minutes early. Tiffany towncar was awaiting us on arrival. I had called them once I knew that our flight had to be changed so tha they knew what time to expect us. We quickly found our luggage (I was shocked that it made the flight), and headed out. We made a very quick stop at Publix for a few goodies for the room and then headed to Bay Lake Towers at the Contemporary. WOW is the only word I can find to describe it inside. Our room (a bit tiny in my humble opinion) is very pretty, and the view is superb. (DUH) Wish we had a higher floor but it is still nice! It is late and I am gonna get to bed now as we need to be up earlier than planned since the exterminators are going to be stopping by at 9 am???

| updating So it is now time to update. I did forget to mention that we had dinner at Kona (a tradition for the first night) as going to Poly and getting some "tropical" ambiance kind of puts me into that vacation frame of mind. I had the Kona salad (YUM) while Kaitlin had the chicken nuggets. Soooo, what was with that exterminator thing????? Well, in the evening when we got to the room and the bellman had departed, Kaitlin decided to go out onto the balcony to check out the castle before we were to leave for dinner. She shrieked, GASP! ![]() I don't like spiders, but Kaitlin is in terror of them. I called housekeeping and they sent someone up to take care of the webs and spiders. ahhhhhhhh, much better and Kaitlin could enjoy checking out the castle, now we could go to dinner in peace. After dinner and a nice little monorail ride, we returned to the room to watch the fireworks from the balcony. ahhhhh, can anything be nicer, there was a nice breeze and it was just great. A little later, Kaitlin finally went to bed and was sleeping, I decided to go out onto the balcony for a bit to watch the world go by. Imagine my surrise when I noticed In the morning the exterminators explained that these were in fact not lovebugs, but what we had was a mass of mosquitoes that had come off of the lake. One of the men stated that there is nothing to fear, as they do not bite like other mosquitoes. But still, just the thought of sharing my space with critters. UGH! ![]() They took care of it. So far we have only seen a few now and then, and no evidence of spiders. More a little later (Probably very shortly) on our day at the Magic Kingdom, and that fabulous MNSSHP. Spooky fun with Mickey and the gang. And what wonderful experiences we enjoyed! What a great day we had!!!!!

| How about a few pictures: Since I have not taken the time to upload them to photobucket, I am taking them directly from my camera through the computer and uploading them as attachments. The first pic is of Kaitlin on the monorail leaving Kona after buying her new chapeau, the next is a pic of our room, then there is one of the view of the castle from our balcony, sorry the monorail is in the way, I didn't realize the angle of the pic until I uploaded into attachments (I will get some better ones for later posts). Also incluided is a pic of the MK the morning after arrival).
