| Intiating New Disney Fans - Oct 27 - Nov 3 This is my first time doing a trip report so please bear with me. We down to less than 3 weeks till we leave and I'm getting super excited. So here's the pre-trip rundown. Cast of Characters ~ Heather (me, 24) - I have been going to WDW for as long as I can remember. My mom's parents lived in the area and my sister & I are the only grandchildren, so we were spoiled. Then I did the College Program while I was working on my Bachelors in 04. The following year I met & married my husband and began life as an Army wife. Since then we've finished our time in the service and had 2 kids. My only trip to Disney since working there was back in March 09 my sister & I went alone for a girl's weekend. I came home determined to get hubby & the kids there soon, as none of them had ever been. I got an annual pass for this trip too, after dh realized there were discounts for having one! ~ Josh (dh, 24) - Has NEVER been to Disney World. When I returned in March from my weekend with my sister, he realized how much fun adults can have there and agreed to take the kids as soon as I thought it's be worth it. He's a biug kid at heart and looking forward to this vacation. His favorite character is Stitch and his only request was that he get to meet Stitch. Not only will he meet Stitch, we have an ADR for 'Ohana. ~ Kaitlyn (also goes by Katie, 2 1/2) - Kaitlyn is my little princess. She wears her Sleeping Beauty dress up dress everywhere for weeks on end if I'll let her. She is tall for her age and not easily scared but I'm still going to play it pretty safe on what rides to take her on. ~ Robert (turning 1 on our trip) - Robert is my baby boy. Typical toddler, walking and into everything. Travel: We will be flying Southwest from Indianapolis to Orlando nonstop. This is the part I am most nervous about right now. I have never flown with either of my kids before. What will we celebrate? Plenty! ~ We have the obvious first trip for 3 of the 4 members of our party. ~ Robert will turn 1 on Oct 28, our first full day there. Since he's so young, not really doing an excessive amount of celebrating for this. But we are having lunch at The Coral Reef in Epcot because he loves watching fish. ~ Oct 31 will be our 4th wedding anniversary. We eloped and never had a honeymoon. I have a handful of surprises for him planned over the course of our week. He thinks we're staying at Pop Century for our entire trip, in reality we're doing a split stay with our first 2 nights at Animal Kingdom Lodge & then the remaining at Pop. We're also going to Kouzziana (he's a huge Iron Chef America fan!) alone on the night of our anniversary. Then I also got tickets to one of the F&W seminars with Andrew Zimmerman who does Bizarre Foods on Travel Channel (another fav show of ours). Will be back later with dining & park plans. |

| Okay so I am starting to finalize our touring & dining plans. For me one of the hazards of planning so much is that I change things around constantly to see if it fits together better another way. Of course that's how I added an extra day to our trip, orginally we were leaving on the 2 but it was much cheaper to leave on the 3. So far I only have a rough outline of what park what day planned. I need to go through later today and figure out which attractions I'm aiming for which days. We will be taking an afternoon break back the hotel every afternoon after lunch. Both kids still nap and I don't want them in meltdown mode every evening. The only day I am not sure about this is our Hollywood Studios day. We may just try to get them to rest during shows. We are also avoiding EMH. Oct. 27 - arrive, check in, maybe go to Epcot for F&W or DTD Oct 28 - Epcot - break - Animal Kingdom Oct 29 - Animal Kingdom - break - Epcot Oct 30 - Hollywood Studios - break (?) - Hollywood Studios w/ Fantasmic! Oct 31 - Magic Kingdom - break - Anniversary dinner w/o kids Nov 1 - Magic Kingdom - break - Epcot Nov 2 - Epcot (?) - break - Magic Kingdom w/ Spectro & Wishes Nov 3 - fly home I am a pastry chef & the timing of our trip was based on F&W and crowds, so that's why there is alot of time built in for Epcot. And if we get tired of Epcot, then it's easy to switch to another park or just hang around the resort. I just didn't want to limit my time and wish I had spent more time at the festival. |
