Friday October 23

We made it back to the CSR and went straight to our car to bring our luggage up to our room. With some strategic planning or “strategery” we were able to make it in one trip.

We were on the 4th floor facing the parking lot…It didn’t bother me because it was sooo quiet….I don’t think we had any neighbors for the whole week.

A view from our car to our 4th floor room

A view from our room to our car

As soon as we got into the room I began my unpacking ritual. I can not relax until everything is unpacked and the suitcases are put away.

yippy for pink wine!

yippy for 2 for 1 riojas

After the last piece of clothing was hung up and my toiletries were all in a row and we took a couple of pictures…

we finally laid down to rest.

We only rested a little bit because we were both hungry. Our dilemma was that it was 3PM and we had a 7:50 PM ADR at the Yachtsman Steak House …so we wanted to get something quick. We headed over to Rix and picked our mugs they were free as part of our package. After we filled our mugs we headed over to the Peppers Market…
I had a margarita pizza and Ben had a burger ...both were pretty much inedible and the service was even worse.

Before taking a bite of his burger

Bleh!

You have to pretty much yell “HEY YOU” or “EXCUSE ME” loud and with conviction to get any kind of service at all.

Ben and I have stayed at the CSR 4 times and we have never loved the Peppers Market but this really sealed the deal. We really love the resort but will be reluctant to stay here again because of the Peppers Market…JUST GIVE US A NORMAL FOOD COURT!!!

We refilled our mugs and headed back to our room.

Then we started the “Discussion” about whether or not we should drive to dinner or take the bus. I wanted to drive but Ben was insistent on us taking the bus. I gave in but was not happy about it.

I started to get ready at about 5PM because I knew if we were taking the bus we would have to leave at 6:30 PM. I got my I-Trip connected to the clock radio so I could get ready to Neil Diamond, MIA, Elton John, Jay Z and Amy Winehouse….It was FUN! I love a hotel room dance party!

I usually just throw some clothes on and head out the door but I decided to try and look at least half decent for our meal. So I actually fixed my hair, put make up on and put on my high heels...all Betty Drapper style.

At 6:30 PM we made our way to the bus stop. The DTD bus showed up really quickly and we got on and it was standing room only. I am glad I had sunglasses on because if Ben would have seen the eyes I was shooting at him it would have burned right through his soul. So there I was in my heels holding on for dear life. We finally made it to DTD and then we waited for about 15 minutes for the bus to:

Swan
Dolphin
Beach Club
Yacht Club
Boardwalk

At least we weren’t the last stop…and at least on this bus we had a place to sit down.

Reaction to Disney transportation

Don’t know why I loved these pictures so much

As soon as we got to the Yacht Club I told Ben in the sweetest voice possible “We are taking a cab back”.

To Be Continued
More than a Meal

Oh no! standing in heels on the bus does not sound fun or comfortable...... I hope the meal makes up for it! Glad for Ben, you had your sunglasses; lol.

That stinks to have standing room only on the bus and in heels! Hope your meal was good!

I've stayed at CS 4 times, it's my favorite hotel, and always enjoyed it, especially the Pepper Market. It's been 3 years since I've stayed there, so maybe the service has gone down. We never had any issues there. That's a shame. I'm going back in February, and I hope it gets better by then.

I know exactly what you mean.... If I am going to stay in a hotel room I refuse to live out of a suitcase.

Great update, sorry about your not so magical experience at the PM.

Continued Day 1
Friday October 23

We arrived at the Yacht Club about 10 minutes before our reservation. I really love this resort its nice and intimate and I love the décor. Its now on my list of places to stay for sure.

please excuse my heaving bosom...it a really conservative dress until i sit down

Benjamin Campbell Davis Attorney at Law

We walked to the restaurant and Ben checked us in.

We took a seat in the lounge which was very manly dark woods and leather…loved it. We were seated in about 5 minutes.

The dining room was very comfortable yet elegant.

The waiter took our drink orders Ben had a water but I needed something a little stronger after the bus ride so I went with a dirty gin martini and it was delicious.

After our drink order was placed the waiter came back for our appetizers.

Ben ordered the lobster bisque and I had the seared Maine diver scallops. The scallops were the best I have ever had… I think I may have said yum or made some kind of moaning sound aloud.

Ben liked his bisque and I thought it was OK…it had brandy in it and I could definitely taste it.

After our appetizers the waiter came by for our entrees ( I liked how nice and leisurely the meal was going with everything spaced out just right).

Ben ordered the cowboy steak which was 20 oz rib-eye with a red wine butter sauce and onion rings.

before

after

I had the filet with red wine sauce and mashed potatoes.

The meat was absolutely fantastic. It had the best smoky taste and was cooked to perfection We both couldn’t completely finish our meals because we were a combination of stuffed and tired.

As a anniversary gift they brought us a edible gift of apricot jellies and salted chocolates….yummy.

We also both ordered deserts…

Ben had the chocolate three ways …he preferred two of them more than one…the salted caramel was his favorite followed by the peanut butter one.

I had the trio of sorbets and I preferred two of them I was not a fan of the lemon basil.

All in all the Yachtsman was AMAZING! It is my new favorite restaurant on property and I highly recommend it .

After our meal the valet called us a taxi and we were back at the CSR in no time for only $8.00.

As soon as we got back to the CSR we rushed upstairs and went to sleep…the beds at the CSR are sooo comfortable.

THE END OF DAY ONE

To be continued..AK morning

Loving hearing all about it!!! I am so with you on the buses. Larry banned our family from Disney buses back when Aubrey was 4 or so, and he saw a kid FLY past him and end up in the step well.
