| All caught up again. Love all your pictures of the Food & Wine Festival. Sorry that you got stuck in the sun drinking warm beer, there is no way that I could have done that. Your dinner looks lovely, it was a good decision to take a taxi back to your room in the evening. |

| I somehow missed the start of this, Maria! Sounds like your first day was good (except for the heat and the bus ride). You both looked so nice for your meal, and YS sounded good when you told me about it, but after seeing the pictures , I want to eat there Yummy!

| Day 2 Saturday October 24 This is Maria’s “DH” and I have hijacked this trip report. On the second day of our trip, Maria woke up at 6. Or 5:30. Or some other god awful hour. She tells me that she ate a brownie for breakfast, but I don’t remember that. All I remember is feeling like that oversized t-shirt with Minnie Mouse on it. You know the one I’m talking about. The one where she’s holding coffee. I think the shirt may be scratch n sniff or something. But that’s neither here nor there. After we are all dressed and ready to go to AK, we have our first fight of the day. I want to take the bus and she wants to drive. For somebody who always believed in the Disney Transportation System, she’s really completely changed her mind about it. So, as a loving DH (and with the evil look from the bus ride to the Yacht Club the night before still in my mind), I make the decision to drive. I kept my eye on the time because I have this hatred, rather an immense fear, of the opening sprint that follows the opening of a park. We drive to AK which is really close to CSR. We end up parking and walking to the entrance. Maria reminds me that it is my turn to take the bag through bag check, but I came up with an elaborate excuse as to how I shouldn’t be the one to do it. I told her that she was the Disney expert, not me, and she knows how much I freak out in lines. She fell for it and I took my leisurely stroll through the no bag entrance. We make it inside the park, and before I can open my mouth to say where I think we should walk to, Maria tells me that she has to use the bathroom. Now, I understand that sometimes people have to use the bathroom, but come on, lady! It must be all those waterfalls on the other side of the turnstiles. That’s what I have to tell myself, anyway. So I make my way over to some bird exhibit which is near the restroom. I stare at some sort of hornbill for a couple of minutes. Then I see a few of the birds sleeping. Sleeping birds are funny and cute. I hear Maria call my name, but I ask for her to come over to the exhibit. I point out the sleeping birds, but she shoots me this weird look that says “I don’t care about those birds, we have to walk to Asia.” We take a pleasant stroll toward Everest. Maria points out the bathroom near the soft serve ice cream stand and says “That’s one of my favorite bathrooms, but I had to use the one at the entrance.” “Cool”, I thought, and we kept walking. The wait for Everest was 10 minutes. We both looked at each other and agreed that we were only going to ride this once. While waiting in line, Maria snapped some pictures. She took a picture of a multiple armed woman with a lion stabbing a guy with a spear. ![]() What did you do this time? Forget to pick up your dirty clothes off the floor...i feel for ya man She told me that was how she felt after I made her take the bus to the Yacht Club the night before. We kept walking as I wiped the sweat from my brow. ![]() ![]() We get on the ride, and as the ride begins to move Maria keeps taking pictures. I’m starting to get this fear, one that I admit is irrational, that she will drop the camera on the ride. I keep telling her to put the camera away, but she just looks at me as if I told her that Disney should tear down the Carousel of Progress and put in a Roller Coaster. She continues to snap pictures, even at the moment before the big drop. I know that she was doing this for this trip report, but I knew she was just doing this to spite me. ![]() Maria that's a good picture, but you should put the camera away ![]() Wow Maria the passporters are really going to like that one! But you should put the camera away. ![]() Maria really I think its time to put the camera away... ![]() OK Maria! The ride is about to start going backwards...put the camera away. ![]() MARIA! IT'S ABOUT TO GET REALLY SCARY........PUT...THE...CAMERA...AWAAAAAYYYYYYY ![]() You like an angel...You talk like an angel... ![]() To make matters worse, after we exit the ride she makes me hold up a t-shirt with the Yeti on it that says, “Hairy Guys Rule.” ![]() For some reason I get really offended and sort of storm off like a diva who didn’t get all green m&ms in her dressing room. This leads to the second fight of the day. This was probably due to the fact that I had not yet had my caffeine for the day. We start walking toward the tea stand that is across the path from the gorilla exhibit. On the way, we notice a cast member taking pictures of a family in front of the Everest sign. To me she looks like she was in a hurry, but Maria insists that she take our picture. I started to panic because in my mind I believed that she was responsible for something important on Everest and our keeping her from her job so she could take our picture would lead to some disastrous consequence. As I’m telling Maria this, she shoots me another one of those looks so I comply and take the picture. ![]() Seriously Maria...What is she controls the emergency brakes? At the tea stand, I order a hot oolong tea (after I made the tea server sign a contract that the tea was caffeinated or else I would sue for restitution) and order a frozen mango green tea for Maria. I walk back to the bench where Maria is sitting and I notice that she is on the phone. Not thinking too much about this, I hand her the mango drink and I sip my tea. To Be Continued: Coming Soon: The mystery person on the other end of the phone, and the divorce that follows…..oh, and some llamas!!
