As to TIW, we have purchased it for the past few years as it provides the most money saving for us. We do not eat large meals and Stefanie would be charged as an adult though she's the size of 5 year old and eats like one, too. I've never figured up how much it saves us for an entire trip, but Luke who does our budget says it makes a big difference.
Well, I'm back from Ireland! Whew! What a trip! Flooding, family and sleeping on hard-wood floors (don't ask, just keep an eye out for my TR!).
Anyway, so besides a short trip to Niagara Falls in April with DH's parents, I think I'm ready to start concentrating on our next big trip...which is coincindentally....the trip this PTR is all about!
I still don't have much news on the planning front. I'm still overwhelmed about the cruise though.
I am working on a timeline for planning so I don't forget any deadline.
Right now all I have on there is the modification of the 2 legs of the trip and making ADR's.
I have to add in the date to book excurions and Palo, I think it's in July but I have to call DCL and ask them again as I forget.
I also will have to add in a date to buy MNSSHP tix and possibly book the Wanyama Safari.
I'll definitely post more as we get closer. OH! I'm also looking into flights now. Continental have great prices out of Newark ($250 RT nonstop), so I might go with those, but I'd love to check JetBlue but they don't have the dates out yet on their website. I'm hoping that by the time that happens and I decide that Continental don't push their prices up! Right now DH and I don't have the funding to purchase the tix anyway. Hopefully soon. I was hoping to get our bonus at work which would really help, but I'm getting the feeling it's not happening...
I thought I had one more tidbit to add but can't remember now what it was! Oh well!
I'm not sure how we're going to do this financially...but...
I found a RT ticket for my mom for $199 including all taxes and fees and 2 RT's for us for like $207 or $214 including all taxes and fees!
I don't think we're going to find anything cheaper, so I'm hoping tonight to book them!
(YAY! One thing checked off the list!) And we still have like 9 months to go!
Just wanted to share my happiness! Hope you all don't mind!
Ok, so after talking to DH and my mom we decided to just go for it!
We all knew that we wouldn't get anything cheaper and I was afraid of the low price seats being sold out etc. so I talked to my mom and even though we already owe her $ for the car rental in Ireland she agreed to put the 3 RT tickets on her card and we could pay her back! (Gotta love my mom) DH and I actually want to pay for her flight as well, so we'll be paying her back for the entire amount booked for Jetblue.
We all leave together (got our seats and everything) on Sat. Sept. 25. Our flight leaves Newark at 11:15am and gets into MCO at 1:52pm. We will take DME to (hopefully) AKV... (you all still have your fingers crossed for me, right?)
My mom will leave on Thursday Sept. 30. Her flight is at 1:35pm. We'll make our way to Port Canaveral that day for our cruise.
We will return to my happy place for another 5 nights and leave on Friday Oct. 8. Our flight leaves MCO at 7:15pm.
I'm very exited!! Booking the flights to me is always a big deal for some reason. It makes the trip seem more real to me or something I guess. Like it's written in stone now. LOL.
I still can't figure out our dining stuff until the modification of the resort stays are complete (well, i could do a plan A, plan B thing, but I tried and found it overwhelming). I don't think it will be too tough to figure out though and I'll have like a month to do it. The cool thing about booking the flights is, at least now I know we'll be able to book a dinner for our first night for sure now! At the moment, I'm thinking we'll be at AKV (Jambo House) and our first meal will be at...BOMA! My mom has never eaten there. This idea might change however of course...LOL. One idea is eat at BOMA and then go to DTD. I don't think we would drag her to a park our first night, I'm thinking we might just relax and check out the resort and storytelling and the other cool events and happenings at AKL...
Ok campers! That's it for now! It's kind of fun planning this combo WDW/DCL trip though! (well, fun in a sort of scary way. Scary because I feel so completely "green" if you will with the whole DCL thing. The whole on-board account thing for instance...oh well! There'll be plenty of time for that!)
Thanks for reading...talk to you all soon! (And yes, I know I still have to finish the wedding TR and the Sept trip TR and now the Ireland TR!) I promise to have them done before we leave next Sept, ok?
Much love to all my fellow PPers!

Glad you got your airfare!
Sounds like you have a great mom!
Is the laughter a symbol that only a fool would believe your are going to finish those TR's in this century?; lol.
