Well, that was an interesting past few days.
I need some Disney more than ever right about now. I mean, I know we all always need some Disney, but seriously, this is coming at the best possible time (if only it would come on and hurry up and get here already..... ) The short version of the HUGE drama is just troubles at school. Stressed out staff, overwhelming administration.... folks are at their wits end. But, it's nothing that a little bubble time won't help. At least when you're in the bubble there is no stress and no worries about things back home.

So anyway, now that I got that out let's move on to some details.

First, the reason I chose the name I did for the TR It will really be like the First Thanksgiving all over again. You see, one or two trips ago I found out that Brandi could be my long lost relative..... We both come from some Cherokee blood My great-great grandmother was full Cherokee and I'm not sure about Brandi's connection but either way, my old teacher's assistant and Andy both said that it explains alot about me What on earth could they be talking about? Surely not my raging temper or my straightfoward no beating around the bush attitude? Okay, maybe they are. But if you think about it, Brandi and I are two peas in a pod, so it all makes sense. As for the two whiteys, Andy and Pom, well they represent the good pilgrims coming across the Atlantic. Andy's grandfather was literally a "straight off the boat" Irishman and Pom's family hails from Scotland. So while they aren't exactly English, they're Scots-Irish and it's close enough for the purposes of this TR Therefore, the Pilgrims and the Indians will break bread together to celebrate thanks yet again, just many, many, many years later.

I attempted to photoshop a picture of us as said pilgrims and indians but out of fear of offending somebody (becaues that's easy for me to do apparently) I decided against it. Besides, the latest photoshop I did of us as the fab four was just scary......

Since there are still 2 weeks left before our trip (Holy Guacamole! I just realized that two weeks from today we'll be headed half way ) but since there are still 2 weeks left I must try and drag out my details as much as possible. We'll start with something small but definitely not unimportant. FOOD!

We decided to make a couple of ADRs to begin with. We had to have a place to have Thanksgiving with the Bakers and then we went out and back between either Le Cellier for our anniversary or Cali Grill. I discovered that my 90 day mark to make ADRs was the first freaking day back to school with students so I had to hand over the reigns to Andy not that I don't trust him, I just like to keep that tight grip on the planning reigns. So, we got up that morning and he opted to do the online booking. I prefer to call and actually talk to someone but he didn't have time for that. So he hops online before I leave for work only to discover that we could've been booking since like 6am or maybe even 5 b/c I don't keep up with the online booking since I only use it to check to see if something is available Anyway, it was acting a fool and wasn't working which stressed me out. He sent me on my way to work and apparently started calling at 7 to try and book over the phone. He was able to get Thanksgiving at 'Ohana around 3:30 which is good b/c Pom likes to eat at weird times of the day. He wasn't able to get Le Cellier but I was happier with what he did get. Cali Grill at 9:05 (granted that afternoon at school I was trying to log in and see them online with the confirmation #s he emailed me and it wouldn't work and I started stressing that he messed up so as soon as I got home I called and confirmed all the dates and times....I'm not OCD or anything...I promise... )


As usual with each and every trip I plan I end up adding a couple more ADRs along the way. I added Les Chefs de France for lunch on our arrival day and then a lunch at Trail's End with the Bakers after a morning at the MK.

We are, of course, very excited about our eating plans!

Great start! I'm glad you're writing a TR this time, because I love reading them. And now it looks like everyone will be chiming in! Sounds like a great trip is in the works. And I sometimes have DDDs even though I am not a worrier! Glad Andy was able to book the ADRs. Ready for more!
