Celebrating 15 years of Magic…without the kids! (a pre-trip report)
This is my very first attempt at writing a trip report so bear with me through it! My husband Chris and I are about to embark on a 5 night stay in Walt Disney World to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary…without our 2 children (guilt rears it’s ugly head often when we discuss that little detail. We’ve been to Disney World 4 times as a family and have always had amazing family trips. This time, it’s special. We are making an effort to give ourselves the honeymoon that we never had. Let me introduce you to my family. Chris is my husband, the solid one that holds us a together. He can do anything! He works like a dog ans NEEDS a vacation! Me (Wendy), I’m the worrier. I worry enough for the rest of us so he balances me out. Maggie is 14 going on 40. Seriously, she’s a great kid. Competitive dancer, all A/B student, wicked sense of humor and is seriously in LOVE with Dale the chipmunk. Julianne is 10, she is my handful. She finds ways to challenge us often but we adore her anyway. She has a MAJOR thing for one Mr. Donald Duck and has kissed his beak several times! So….the details of this vacation are as follows: Who: Chris and Wendy When: October 6 – 11 Where: Port Orleans French Quarter We have a few special surprises mixed into our plans. I’m still tweaking things as I go, but I will have a Disney Dream maker up my sleeve to help make the a very special vacation. Some of the more “special” plans that I’ve already put in place are a late lunch at LeCellier on our actual 15th anniversary, then we’re off to MNNSHP. We also have tickets to LaNouba and I think a Dream Maker will be helping me with some surprises for Chris. Coming up….ADR’s MNNSHP, matching park hours with our plans….good times!
Great start!! I'm planning an alone trip for DH & I (Feb 2011), so I am so looking forward to reading all about your plans! A fall trip sounds awesome & I hope someday we can go that time of year (as well as Christmastime!!) And don't feel guilty....we all deserve time alone!
my DH and I just did Disney without the boys this past Sept. I felt so guilty leaving them home with family while we did our belated by 5 yrs honeymoon. It was definetly different without the kids but didn't do anything different because we didn't have them. Still did just the parks and dinners etc. wished we would've done more massages etc but we still had a blast! Hope you have fun and enjoy your happy place!
Sounds like a fantastic trip!!! We are starting to save up now for our 15yr trip (it's not until 2014).....we can't wait to do a trip without the girls!
