OK, now that that's out of my system, I just had to tell someone. We have been hoping and scrounging pennies trying to find a way to go to my husband's family reunion this year in Florida (Jacksonville Beach) and I said, "Hey, we've got annual passes, and Jax Beach is just 2 1/2 hours away from Disney, do you think we could go? And my wonderful DH said "If we can get the money together, we can go." Well, the last day to pay off the trip is May 27th, and I just made the final payment!
We told the kids that it was a possibility, but not to count on it. I think I'm going to keep it a secret. I booked the dining eons a month ago, just in case we were able to go, we'd have it all booked and wouldn't have to scramble to find places to eat at the last minute, so I won't have to sneak phone calls except to confirm everything. My birthday is during the week we will be gone, and DS16 knows that if we don't go to family reunion, we will be going to visit my parents (a 3 hour car trip from where we live). He's going to be spending most of the summer with other family about half way there, so it will be nothing to stop and pick him up on the way. DD5 will be a little harder to fool, because she's ALWAYS with me right now. But, I think I can do it. Then, on the way to my parent's house I'll have my DFIL call me and ask if we still want to go.......he needs rent a car, anyway, and is willing to pay for the hotel room as my birthday present......we still "can't" do Disney but we can go to family reunion. Family reunion is the 2nd weekend in july (the 9th and 10th, we're booked in Disney the 11th-17th.) If I can pull this off, they won't know we're going to Disney until we drive under the Disney World sign. The only problem is that I want to be dancing around the house singing "We're goin' to Disney!"
How exciting! I'm so glad you get to go to Disney. We will be there from July 4-July17th and our boys have no clue. They are so upset that they have to wait till next year, lol. Can't wait to hear all your plans. Who knows, we may even run into each other.
The next obstacle in Keeping The Secret has been met and dealt with. I had to find a way to let DD5's physical therapist know we would be out of town 2 sessions of PT, without letting DD5 know why....fortunately, a timely potty break (which NEVER happens during the hour we're there) was needed, and I was able to quickly explain the plan to Terry (DD5's WONDERFUL physical therapist). YAY!
