My daughter starts this week as a cast member for the summer. She'll spend her birthday with Mickey and be living the dream for the whole summer.
We've spent a couple of days here, staying in Orlando and just getting acclimated. Took the time to visit hotels we've never stayed at - awesome - and just kinda hang out "fringe Disney". On all our visits, we've never ventured out to the Boardwalk or strolled the Grand Floridian. Our favorite new hotel was the Yacht Club. Beach, lake, shopping, dining right across the lake at the Boardwalk - and best of all, not very crowded.
So if you're in the Magic Kingdom this summer, see a brown haired girl named Katie from Waco - tell her hi and that you're jealous. We All Are! And if any of your kids say - I Wanna Work Here - pay attention, my daughter has been saying that for years and she made it happen!!

That brought a tear to my eye! My DS(8) has talked about being an engineer since he was 6 (guess sthat is really not that long ago...anyway...) started as a rocket engineer, then a robot engineer, now he wants to be a roller coaster engineer at disney! I hope he sticks with this plan a bit longer! Congrats to your DD!
My DD had career day at school when she was in Kindergarten. She came home and told me she had to dress up for career day. I asked her what she wanted to dress up as. I ask a doctor, a vet, a chef, a singer, what are you thinking? She looked at me and said I want to dress up as a princess. I said well you have to be born into a royal family in order to be a princess, or marry a prince. She said no mommy, I am going to work at Disney World as a princess while I am going to college to be a Marine Biologist, and then after college I will work at Epcot. (She loves sea animals and she would ask if she could be a doctor for sea animals, so DH and I said those are called Marine Biologist. Ever sense she was 4 she has talked about being a Marine Biologist.) So she dressed up as a princess. All the teachers and parents were saying oh your so cute, some of them laughed and said oh you want to be a princess. She looked at them with all seriousness and said "yeah at Disney world while I go to college to be a Marine Biologist and then I will work at Epcot." I just smiled and thought to myself "my daughters career chose trumps your kids." lol
