Great updates! How scary about the allergic reaction with your DS! I'm glad he was okay! Great pictures!
Thanks! I have to admit that is was really scary, and it happened so fast that I just didn't even have time to process. But, fortunately, he's OK, and was able to get through the rest of the trip thanks to meds!
I got a wakeup call from Mickey at 5:30, and got everyone up except for the boys until the last possible moment (6:00). DS, 15 looked a lot better, as his hives seemed to be finally disappearing and the itching was subsiding a great deal thanks to the meds. J He was still tired from the meds, but ready to go eat breakfast with Pluto. (He is a huge Pluto fan.) The munchkin was the last to get up, but once I told him where we were going (CM and MK), he was up and ready to go within five minutes! We made it to the bus stop by 6:10 and the bus was there by 6:15. The bus driver took us to the CR, and we were surprised at how crowded it was at 6:45 in the morning! We waited in line to get our pager, and at 7 AM, we got our pager, had our picture taken, and the pager went off even before we had finished the picture. We were seated, and got our juice and coffee orders and were off to eat before Mickey arrived! The food was pretty good, but we were starving as we had eaten at 4 PM yesterday afternoon, so we ate pretty quickly. The kids loved the Mickey Waffles and the potatoes are always DD’s favorite. DH said the bacon was overcooked, but the sausage was good. I don't even think that the munchkin ate much, but it really is about the experience anyway. The food is just a good excuse to go. We were on the DDP, and this was our third TS for this trip. Oh, I almost forgot! DD and I got cupcakes (her graduation and my birthday celebrations), and I also got a card signed by Mickey and the gang. So that was a nice little treat. This was our 4th time at CM’s (breakfast only), and we’ve had fairly consistent service and food there. The character interaction was OK, but after GG (and later on Ohana), there just is no comparison. We did have to track down Goofy for an autograph as we were leaving because he only stopped long enough for a pic, but DH and the munchkin caught him in between tables, so we were able to get everyone's autograph by the time we left. The older kids weren’t really in the mood for pics, so I only got a few of them, but the munchkin was so excited to see Mickey and Donald, especially. DS, 15 was excited to see Pluto (although he doesn’t like to admit it J). I like the early reservations the best, as I think you get a better experience (unlike CP later on), but there's always a catch, you know? The munchkin did get cranky earlier, and needed a break earlier than I would have liked, but it was a decent trade off. To be honest, I hate getting up early, but it's the only ADR that was super early, so I think it worked out OK. Coming up MK for the munchkin and EPCOT for the big kids!
Great TR so far! We'll be at POR in a week and it's great to hear they have great service. I've got a kid with allergies and you never know what could set him off. Of course I'm praying we don't need that, but it's nice to know just in case. I'm so glad your DS was okay. Poor kid! Looks like you are quite the trooper so far!
6.08.10, MK EMH We left CM around 8 or so, and DD and DS decided to go to MK for just a little while and then head over to EPCOT for a few rides. They rode POTC, HM, and SM before heading over to EPCOT. By the time they got to EPCOT it was around 10 or so, and the lines were already getting long, and DS was beginning to get tired, so DD took him back to the hotel to go swimming and eat lunch. Meanwhile, we were on a Dumbo or Die mission! The munchkin and I got in line for Dumbo (about a 20-25 minute wait by 8:30), and DH got FP for Peter Pan. He also got the bonus FP for Mickey’s Philharmagic, which is a favorite for us. After Dumbo, we rode the Carousel, and then headed over to Mickey’s Phiharmagic. The munchkin giggled the whole time and would jump out of his seat to try to reach Donald and the hat. Afterwards, we rode Pooh, and then had an ice cream break as the munchkin was starting to get cranky. By that time, it was time for Peter Pan! This is definitely one of our favorite rides! We went by Tomorrowland and got FP for Buzz, and then headed over to Adventureland for a Pineapple Float and POTC!
This was my first Dole Whip float and it was the BEST ice cream ever! And I don’t even like ice cream that much! J We did have to wait about 30 minutes to ride POTC, but it was worth it, and the munchkin declared it was his favorite ride of all time. I told him we’d come back another day so he could ride it again. By this time it was time for our Buzz FP, and DS was at the end of his patience. After TSMM, Buzz is just not quite as great of a ride. But it was a great way to end our morning. We headed back to the bus to get back to the hotel, and decided to eat a quick bite of lunch at the POR food court. By this time, the munchkin had fallen to sleep, so DH and I shared a QS meal and then took him back to the room for a nap. What a wonderful nap it was!
Coming up...the munchkin's first ride down the pool slide and Illuminations!

Great updates, I am so sorry about the allergy scare. We have several allergies in our family and it is so scary how you never know what can trigger something. We love POR a well and glad to hear that they had help there quickly.Sorry though that he was not feeling up to par throughout the trip though
Did the doctor ever figure out what he was allergic too once you got home? Maybe it was something he ate as you mentioned he did not feel good when you got back to the room. I hope that no more allergies popped up for the remainder of the trip.

Thanks, DS was a good sport! He is my child that gets everything imaginable. Last summer it was MRSA, spring break it was pneumonia. I am just thankful that he wasn't alone when it happened. He's doing much better now, though! We loved POR, and I hope that you do too! Have a great vacation!

His ped. still don't know what caused the reaction, but he will probably have to go back to the allergist to get testing done. (He's on prednisone, so he can't have testing right now.) As far as something he ate, it's a possibilty, but he has other health issues, and takes meds for those problems as well, and sometimes it makes him feel yucky, so I really didn't think anything about it at the time. Fortunately, he seemed to make steady progress the rest of the trip. My DD is severly allergic to wasps, and their dad was also severly allergic to wasps as well, so it seems likely that he was bitten by something that we just didn't see. He's on allergy meds and steriods for now, and they seem to be helping a lot. Thanks!
