What a great evening at DHS. Sorry that there was such a long wait again for Kaylin's dinner. When it comes to counter services and allergies I have found that the waits can get pretty long waiting for a special meal, we have had better wait times at the food courts at the food courts however. They really do try to be accomodating but I think that with the CS since so much of the food is already prepared it takes longer to make that "special meal". At the table services I think it is easier because even though they have stuff prepared, it is not put together until the order comes in.
Glad you were able to see Fantasmic, when we were there in August the second shows were packed as well. Looks like everyone was ready for bed after the show. Can't wait to hear if you made it to rope drop and all about the BBB.
Yes, waiting for Kaylin's meal became quite a trend at CS restaurants. We also finally learned to ask them to release the rest of the meals so everyone didn't have to wait. I just thank goodness that she's my patient child!!
What a great day. I hope you scrapbook because you have some GREAT pictures.
I don't have the patience for scrapbooking. I'm a plain album kind of girl. (Although I'm about 2 years behind in ordering prints.) See scrapbooking would never work for me! I do have a Cricut though. Go figure!
My trend of not sleeping continued and I was up at the crack of dawn. Ugh! I was exhausted to start this trip and not sleeping was not helping. Tip: Though nearly impossible, do try and start your vacation off well-rested! Today I was bound and determined to get to rope drop so we could follow TGM’s touring plans. Well, we got off the bus at Epcot at 9:15 so we missed it again. Plus, this threw the first of our plans off kilter. We were supposed to hop on Soarin’ and also grab a set of FP’s. We instead had to just grab FP’s. Living With the Land was a walk-on so we rode that. I totally remembered this ride from the last time I was at Epcot in fifth grade. It was very interesting and it was so nice to walk on to a ride!! From there we headed over to Turtle Talk so we could get back on “schedule”. We made it for the first showing and it was fabulous!! That was the most laughing I had done in a long time. The kids showered us with Dudes and Dudettes all day. Next we hopped into our clam shell on the Little Mermaid ride. Another walk on! I didn’t think this one was anything special.
We still had time before our FP’s were ready, so we headed into Innoventions. Mark and Adam left us to go and get Fast Track FP’s. We wondered around a bit and found our way to what we call the Piggy Bank Game. The kids had a lot of fun with it even though the concepts were way over their heads. We made the mistake of not telling the kids they weren’t going to get to keep their pig. For when it was over, we had two nearly hysterical kids because they wanted their pigs! Live and learn.
Our FP’s were finally ready. Carter wasn’t tall enough to ride so Mom, Dad and I stayed behind and sent the others. We’d go when they were done. Off they went. We took bathroom breaks, had a snack, and stopped for their bad habit thinking that they should be done by now. We went into the building and waited another 25 minutes. We were sure we had missed them, but it just took that long. We didn’t want them to have to wait that long for us so we sent them to see Figment as my brother was totally excited to ride it again. He remembered this from when he was little.
We got in line and waited about 15 minutes until we were seated in row three and off for our flight. It was so much fun. I loved the wind and the scents. I can see why everyone raves about this ride. I’m sure it would have been even better in the front row! By the time we got over to Figment they were just getting off the ride. Not quite what Adam remembered, but enjoyable none-the-less.
By this time everyone was getting hungry. Where to eat? So many choices. We decided to head towards the WS. We ended up walking towards Mexico. Mark and Adam stopped at a booth for their first beer of the trip. We ended up eating at Cantina de San Angel. It was excellent! Well, the churros weren’t very good, but everything else was. We had the tacos and nachos. It was nice to sit and look out over the water.
Everyone sated we had a mission. Well two actually. The first was to find Belle. We had also picked up a Kim Possible mission for England while in Innoventions. We headed away from Mexico. My brother ran ahead to find Belle. Braydon wasn’t too excited to meet Princesses so I sent he and his Dad off to England for their mission. I just love, love, love the WS. We needed to spent many more hours at Epcot. With small children all I saw of each country was the facades as we walked by. We knew we had to get to France, but we got to meet many friends along the way. Our first encounter was with Alice in Wonderland. Next came Mary Poppins. Both with practically no waiting!!
As we entered France we saw Sleeping Beauty with barely a line. We went to see her, but got a frantic call from my brother saying we needed to get over to Belle. The line was closing. We got over there and the girls were so excited to see Belle in her country dress. They were a little leery of the Beast though. Carter wouldn’t even go near him! Mission completed we headed back to see Sleeping Beauty. She was gorgeous and wonderful with the children. We just missed Marie and from there our timing was off as everyone else was on break.
Mark and Braydon caught up after the mission at this point. They reported that it was a blast. Something they would definitely do again. They even stumbled upon a very lonely Pooh and Tigger on their explorations.
Our gorgeous morning was now getting pretty hot. We had 4:40 BBB appointments and had planned to rest at the hotel first. We decided we’d use our Test Track FP’s and then head out. We walked through the rest of the WS. Oh how I wish I could have explored! On our walk around WS Abby and Carter fell asleep so Mom and Dad sat out TT to stay with the sleeping kiddos. The rest of us headed on in. Even the FP line had a bit of a wait. It took about 20 minutes to get on. I sat in front with Braydon and Kaylin who were both quite nervous. What a fun ride! Both ended up loving it. We had three extra FP’s so we gave them away to a very grateful family. We certainly did cover a lot of area so far, and it was taking it’s toll on my Dad. He’d never say it, but he was hurting pretty badly and we still had quite a hike to get to the buses. I’d wanted to go to the Visa Meet and Greet, but decided we’d better get going if we were going to make our BBB appointments.
