Yay for the puppy's arrival!
And that is not fair that your DH's daughter is treating him that way. Is it possible for him to sit down with her to let her know how she makes him feel?

Way to go for you putting your foot down. I know EXACTLY what you mean. That happened to DH and me all the time! We have been together since his kids were 3 and 6. (they are the only kids we have - I couldn't have any so I feel that they are mine too) We would miss entire months because they were "busy". Seriously how busy is a grade schooler? It just gets worse the older they get. Now they are 20 and 23 and they haven't been over to see us since January. They don't even return our texts. (and yes, we text otherwise we would never get to communicate with them! ) But you can believe that they will be over for their birthdays. (they didn't remember me on mother's day but did see DH on fathers day while I was at work) Everyone makes excuses for them - they are young, busy, working, school, social life, etc. Oops - sorry- I just got totally sucked up into your rant!
Yay for puppies to come!! I can feel your excitement.
Secondly, don't worry about the rant. I know many of us have been in your situation (I know I was with my two oldest kids and their dad and my DH and his oldest two) so we understand exactly what you're going through. And I agree with you.
I am very excited! I hate to rant, but hate even worse to see DH like this. Thanks!

I feel so bad for your husband. I know it can be difficult putting your foot down but I hope things work out better. Maybe this is the wake up call his DD needs.
Congrat on the puppy and hopefully it is a Maddie and not a Maxwell Hmmm?

Thanks! I hate it for him, this is why I had to say something, everything will work out the way it is meant to be...everything happenes for a reason, but I am not goin to give up! Well it better be a Maddie, cause I put a deposit down on a female and the mommy better have a female or once again I will have to wait and I dont think my poor heart could take that again.

Thanks! I cant wait either! She just needs to hurry her little tail up!
Hope you had a wonderful birthday. Sorry that your DH is having to deal with this from his daughter, but you made some very valid points to him and I think it had to be done. It i not fair to him when he is trying so hard to be there for her. Hope everything works out for the both of them.
