Sounds like a long day at MK--sorry about the waits, but that's pretty typical for that time of year!
I completely agree with you that the show on the Castle is fabulous and really must be seen in person to get the full effect! Nice shots from Wishes too!
I have that pin. I really want the mug too. I'm sooo jealous.
You can look for it on your next trip. I found mine at the Emporium at MK.

The waits at MK were kind of a bummer but I totally expected it to be that way.
The Castle show is breathtaking! Absolutely beautiful!
Disclaimer: I did not take pictures this day. I didn’t want to take the camera to the park because I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it around in my bag. So sorry about that, I’ll be using some generic pics I found in the web.
My most dreaded day had arrived. We were going to visit Aquatica. Why was it a dreaded day for me? I will explain.
First of all I can’t swim AT ALL. In fact I’m very afraid of water (but I manage to take showers everyday ). I can be happy in a pool but I hate water that moves (beach, rivers, wave pools). I also hate slides especially the ones where you fall into a pool. I never ever jump or dive into a pool either because I’m too afraid. Well, you get the picture. I’m a big chicken.
Anyways, I knew my kids were dying to visit a waterpark. I tried to convince them not to go but no luck. So I decided to go to Aquatica by Sea World, as I’ve seen pictures and it looked pretty neat.
My DH isn’t very fond to waterparks either. He wasn’t thrilled but what you gonna do? The things you do for you kids… Only because I love them.
Our plan was to get to the park around 11ish and stay 3 hours tops. We woke up at 8:30. I showered, made breakfast, you know took my sweet time. There was no rush to get out the door. After everyone was ready we left the house around 10:30. Today it was only DH, sons and me.
We finally got to the park at 11:00.
Entrance sign (the only picture I took)
We went through the gates and made our way to the kid’s zone. We managed to grab some chairs very close. Of course we had to divide and conquer in order to do everything we wanted. I, of course, volunteered to stay with DS7 and DS6 at the kiddie side and DH got stuck with DS11 on the big boy slides.
Let me say that this section makes a visit to Aquatica so worth it.
Walkabout Waters
My kids loved it, I loved it. It has everything a kid can ask for. Water sprays, big slides, small slides, giant water bucket, water guns, climbing. The area is so big I had to keep an eye on my two boys. They kept climbing the stairs, going down the slide (the ones that fall into a pool) and then going back up and… you get the drill.
In the meantime DH was tackling some slides with DS11. They went on Dolphin Plunge, which is a slide in which you’re able to see dolphins. But you go down so fast you hardly notice them. They also went on Tassie’s Twister which my son called the toilet bowl because that’s what it looks like. The also went to the wave pool.
At around 2:00, the kids were getting hungry. My DH had completely dissappeared and not once had he come back to check on us (so typical). I set off with them to try and locate him. No luck. I did see a couple of places where we could eat.
Finally, after a while of waiting , my DH made an appearance. We headed as fast as we could over to Banana Beach Cookout. It was an all you can eat pizza & pasta buffet. It was a pretty good bargain too. They had different kinds of pizza, salads, pasta, sauces, breadsticks and dessert. We filled up our plates and went outside to find a table. We ate til our hearts content.
Since we were so full, we told the kids to have some down time. Well for my kids that means 5 minutes. Soon they were playing again.
We tricked DH into standing underneath the big bucket. After it’s filled up, the bucket tilts and drops all the water. He got drenched! The kids had a good laugh at his expense. I did too.
We had lots of fun, I even went down some slides (no, not the pool ones. Not ready for those yet ). Then DH suggested we take the kids to the wave pool. He took turns taking them into the deep side while I waited at the entrance. The waves here are very strong here. I was sitting down and got knocked down a couple of times. Next we went to Roa’s Rapids. This is a river ride where you have to put on a life vest and just go with the rapids. You go round and round and round. The rapids are pretty strong. We started off all together but that quickly changed. For some reason, DH had DS7 & DS6 and I had DS11. DH isn’t, let me see how I can put this, well he isn’t me . I’m a little more careful when it comes to my kids, I’m always looking out for them, anticipating what can happen before it happens. Somehow, DH lost grip of the kids. Since the rapids are so strong and they are so light weighted, they just floated away. It took a while to get them. It wasn’t like they were going anywhere but it was kind of unnerving. We decided it was time for something different. We went to Loggerhead Lanes which is a lazy river. Here you have to have a tube. This was kind of neat as there was a part where you went through a tunnel where there were lots a fish. My kids got bored quickly so we went back to Walkabout Waters.
At DS7 insistence, I went down a pool slide (you know the one where you fall into a pool). I hated it. Even though the water you fell into was only like 3 ft I still managed to get some in my nose, ears, mouth. But I did make my son happy so that’s what counts.
At 5:45 they started announcing that the park would be closing. DH took the boys to the bathroom to change while I waited. When they came out it was my turn to change. We left the park exactly at closing time, 6:00 pm. So what happened to our plan of only staying for 3 hours?
I thought I didn’t like waterparks, but boy was I wrong. There’s something for everyone even for the chickens like me. We had a blast and it completely changed my view of waterparks.
We made our way over to the house. I don't remember what we had for dinner. We were in bed by 10:00.
Next up… Who’s that person standing up at the safari ride?
What a great surprise! Who knew you'd enjoy the water park so much? Your sons are at tough ages to keep track of, though - they move so fast and don't stay together!
I'm glad you ended up having a good time there. I've never been to that water park (Typhoon Lagoon is my favorite) but I hope to visit it one day.
I've never been to the Disney waterparks but I'd like to visit in the future. I know my kids would enjoy it.

I'm not a fan either as I hate the slides but I'd gladly spend the entire day at the kiddie side.

The only ride I'm sad I had to skip was Snow White because it won't be there next time I go.

And it doesn't help that they're kind of daredevils. They weren't afraid of anything, they'd go down those slides, then climb up and go back down again.
