I loved seeing it so empty, most people were heading straight to CP without stopping but we had to take in all the sights. Our server was so kind to arrange our meeting with Eeyore

I've got a few more pics from the party to upload to Photobucket then the next update will be ready. The smells in the sweet shop were incredible! I didn't realise hubby had taken so many photos, sorting through them made me so hungry

Sorry you weren't feeling well.
It was worth having the early ADR to see MK so empty, we'll definitely do it again one day and we highly recommend it. The heat and humidity were mad that day, that's what got me....and I still chose to wear black to the party

Breakfast was delicious and the character interaction is so much fun. We've eaten all 3 meals here and the food is excellent and plentiful no matter what time of day you choose. I hope you enjoy it

Planned Trips:
Nov/Dec 2012 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary and my 40th birthday!
The alarm went off at 4pm and we'd both been sleeping solidly. We washed and dressed and were at the bus stop for 4.50pm. It was time for dinner at Tony's Town Square and some Halloween fun! Luckily our bus went straight to Magic Kingdom without stopping at Riverside. Yay! We were leaving the bus at 5.10pm. The lines to get in weren't too long. Once inside, we were given our wristbands, maps and candy bags. I suddenly remembered I'd handed my special Mickey Mouse Halloween Candy bag to Hubby as we'd been getting ready to leave. He wasn't holding it. “Where's my bag?” I asked, panicked thinking he'd left my 7-year old treasure on the bus. His face fell as he admitted it was still in our room as he'd put it on the bed to finish filling his pockets. I was just relieved to know my treasure was safe I guess I will save it for another Halloween Party one day and it's now safe and sound back on the handle of my Disney room door
We walked in to Exposition Hall to see Mickey Mouse.
Outside it was showing a 10 minute wait but as we joined the line inside, it changed to 20 minutes. Hmm, we had to decide what to do – stay in line in case it wasn't a 20 minute wait or leave as we didn't want to be late for our ADR time. We looked at the big line full of people and decided to leave. We took some more photos of Town Square while waiting for our ADR time.
At 5,30pm we checked in. Wow was it busy in the waiting area! There was nowhere to sit. I guess people were waiting for later times or didn't have an ADR as we were called to our table in 5 minutes. The table was beautifully decorated for our anniversary, how sweet!
I'm not sneering or anything, I was made sentence
Our server was Linda and she was good but at times, we felt rushed. We were brought bread rolls with garlic and herb oil. Very yummy.
Doodles!
My choice for entree was chicken parmigana and Hubby chose the NY Strip Steak. He had been determined that his last Disney dinner would be a steak. What a delicious meal!
Chicken Parmigana:
NY Strip Steak:
Hubby's steak was tender, juicy and perfectly cooked. My chicken parmigana was huge. The chicken was perfect and the spaghetti was cooked just how I like it. The tomato sauce was delicious and full of flavour. It was so large I could not finish my plate. I looked at Hubby and said “the doggies would like that chicken, I'll take it home” and then my face fell My doggies were thousands of miles away at home with their Uncle. I then realised how much I'd missed them. Oh well, another day or so and I'd be hugging them. It was time to choose dessert and we both wanted the chocolate cake with hazelnut filling. Oh my goodness, what a dessert!
This was a huge slab of cake! It was absolutely divine and it had to be finished. This was one of my favourite desserts of the trip and we had eaten a lot of desserts. Hubby was disappointed I was able to finish mine but I was determined to not leave any. Sorry dude!
As we were given our bill, we were handed a lovely anniversary card signed by our server Linda featuring Lady and the Tramp. Cool!
Full Hubby:
Our meal came to $69.17 including tax and we paid the tip out of pocket, before leaving to join the party.
I looked through our party map as we walked up Main Street USA, going against the fray. A lot of people were leaving the park before the party started. We decided to head for Adventureland. There were Cast Members at the entrance of every land and most rides asking people to show their wristbands. We showed ours and carried on. Near the Aloha Isle, Timon and Terk were out for greets. Their line was not long so we joined it and were soon posing with them and getting hugs.
Our photos taken, we waved goodbye and carried on.
Cool drawings on the ground:
Near Pirates of the Caribbean, there was a huge line to meet Captain Jack Sparrow. If the line was shorter I'd have joined it as he was brilliant. I really wanted to see all 7 of the Dwarfs so we hoofed it to Frontierland.
The greeting area was near Splash Mountain. It was gone 7 by the time we reached Frontierland but the dwarfs weren't out yet. Phew, I was shattered already after hotfooting there. We couldn't find anywhere to sit and it didn't help that it was a very warm night, nor that my Halloween t-shirt was black :headslap: Hubby wanted to start on the candy stops so we picked up a few handfuls of goodies before walking towards Liberty Square. There was a candy stop next to the Riverboat which was not running that night.
I thought I'd read about it running during previous parties with Halloween stories being told but I guess I was wrong. More candy in our bags, we walked towards Haunted Mansion. It was showing a 10 minute wait but we were on within 5 minutes. We heard a female voice, turned to the right and saw this lady among the tombstones. A Cast Member helped her out to greet us.
They didn't say who she was but her costume was awesome. Actually all the Cast Members costumes were certainly more elaborate for the Halloween party.
We survived our trip with the 999 Happy Haunts and walked into Fantasyland. Peter Pan's Flight had a 15 minute wait as did Dumbo. Snow White's Scary Adventures was a walk-on so we decided to ride it one last time before it leaves forever. It's a shame but I guess change happens.
Bye bye dear Dopey
Mickey's PhilharMagic was next and we were in the theatre within 2 minutes.
After hitting a few more candy stops, Hubby checked on Peter Pan. It said 20 minutes but the line looked a lot longer than that. We headed for Winnie the Pooh which showed a 10 minute wait. There was nobody in the interactive queue at all and we walked right through the building. We were in our hunny pot within a couple of minutes. Next up, my favourite land: Tomorrowland!
There wasn't a long line for Buzz yet again and we got 2 goes on it within 15 minutes. Result! I had to take a spin on my beloved TTA as it's fab seeing the park lit up at night. There was a different soundtrack for the party which I enjoyed. After another spin on Buzz Lightyear I wanted to see the parade and Hallo-wishes so we walked towards Main Street. As we left the ambience of Tomorrowland, I was ecstatic to hear an old piece of music being played called Celestial Soda Pop, it's one of my favourites. I exclaimed at the top of my voice “oh wow, Celestial Soda Pop!” and only hubby understood me A few others gave me an odd look but I didn't care, I was happy They changed the Tomorrowland loop in 2003 but I still have a soft spot for the old one.
Hubby needed the loo at this point and I was thirsty so I joined a huge line at the popcorn cart while he headed to the restroom. By the time I was about to be served, hubby had returned. I was relieved (as he probably was, ha!) that he'd found me as Main Street was crazy full of people. We found a spot near the Castle for Hallo-wishes. Hubby recorded it on our Flip while I took far too many photos (as usual).
Just before the finale, a guy stopped right in front of us, just missing my toes, and he proceeded to place a child on his shoulders, totally blocking our view. Hubby tapped him on the shoulder and he turned round. “Sorry, didn't see you there,” he said. I hope he'd have noticed my toes before treading on them
As soon as Hallo-wishes was over the crowds scattered and it was time for us to scout out a place for the parade. This was easier said than done as there were people who'd obviously been lining up since the last one. I'd heard the second parade was normally emptier but if this was emptier, I'd have hated to see how packed the first one was! We found a spot on Main Street by a post and waited. My photos of the Headless Horseman were far too blurry.
This is the best one of a bad bunch:
The Cast Member stationed on our side of the street walked up and down during the first 10 minutes of the parade, blocking our view and I think I got more photos of her face than the actual floats. The Cast Member on the other side of the street didn't move once. I couldn't help but comment to hubby “I wish we'd gotten on to that side of the pavement now, that Cast Member hasn't moved once”. Funnily enough she stopped pacing back and forth after that
I these guys
I loved seeing this parade again, it was our first time seeing it since 2005. I love the amount of characters featured, including some rare ones you don't often see like the Sheriff of Nottingham. Unfortunately I think there is too much lighting on Main Street USA and I was very disappointed with my photos Next time, we shall see it from Liberty Square or Frontierland.
The parade over, we tried to decide what to do next. I wasn't ready to throw in the towel just yet. We hadn't visited Monsters Inc Laugh Floor yet this trip so that was our destination.
We queued inside for about 15 minutes before being let into the theatre. Andy was picked to play Mike Wazowski during a re-enactment of the Monsters Inc story – must have been the shaved head that done it Every time his face appeared on screen, he had to cover one eye. It was hysterical. I laughed so hard my belly ached. They picked the hairiest guy to play Sully. “That guy” was played by a guy dressed in gold disco gear who looked like an extra from Goldmember!
I realised that we'd never gone back to Frontierland to meet the 7 Dwarfs. They were still due to be out for over half an hour so we dragged our exhausted butts back to Frontierland. The line was huge but we tried to join it anyway. The Cast Member turned us away, saying the line was closed, come back tomorrow. Hubby told him that we couldn't as we were flying home tomorrow. Yet again, all we got was a shrug. Very helpful I wish we hadn't bothered to walk over as I was now really aching. We waddled over to the spot where the rocking chairs are and took a much needed seat. After people-watching for a few minutes, we decided we were ready to call it a night.
We took a very slow stroll back to Main Street USA just taking in the sights and sounds. This would be our last view of the Castle this trip and as I gazed up at it, I felt incredibly tearful Hubby placed his arm around me and said “don't worry, we'll be back again”
Bye bye Magic Kingdom:
We didn't wait long for a bus and I was surprised to see only 3 people waiting in line. I expected it to be packed. Back at the resort, we managed to catch the food court before it closed to grab a much needed refill of diet coke. We found our eviction notice (aka the bill) and our Disney's Magical Express information and sighed.
Eviction Notice:
We were back in our room just after midnight. Again, it had been a day of many steps and miles.
It took awhile for me to switch off. Hubby fell asleep straight away but I watched TV and read until gone 2am. As usual, I was not ready to leave.
Coming up: Time to Go Home....Umm Why Has My Dog Got a Bald Butt
