Sounds like you had another relaxing day! What did you have to eat at TRex? I haven't been there yet!
That was all from day 1 that was how we spent the afternoon and evening. As for what we ate I had the doublemeat cheeseburger (What can i say I've been a good boy for the past 9 months eating all the right stuff and avoiding all the bad stuff Doc not happy with my bad Cholesterol # 139) and heck I am at WDW so it really doesn't count right. And it was good. Almost as good as a place back in Queens NY near LaGuardia Airport Called Jackson Hole of Wyoming Lucille did end up with fried shrimp. If you like Rainforest Cafe then you'll love T Rex food is about the same but much more atmosphere
Sorry about all the rain on the way down. Love that Lucille is slowly converting to our way of thinking. And I like the slow pace y'all are taking on this trip. I mean, you've got the time to take is slow. (Yes...I'm jealous!)
Today Thur 9/8 is our day at Universals IoA. Now the idea of going to Universal has never really appealed to me but with the WWoHP now open and Jurasic Park next to it it went on the list of things to do. Lucille is a big dino fan and its one of the very few things she has said she wants to do. After reading other peoples accounts of huge crowds at WWoHP we decided to go early and make our way straight to this area. Arriving about the time they opened for the day we park the car and make our way into the park. It doesn't take long before I realise this is definately not Disney. Fully half the shops aren't open and the CM's are nowhere nearly as friendly or helpful. After getting a map to help us navigate we are to Hogsmeade. Hogsmeade was great. The atmosphere and feel of the area is a good reflection of the winter scenes from Prisoner of Azkaban. The sign for the Forbidden Journey ride says it's a 10min wait so we jump in line. A few minutes later we are stowing our stuff in a locker and back in line. The bubbles during the introduction are an unexpected suprise but a nice touch I thought. Now its onto the ride. Now comes a suprise I haven't ever considered. We've talked about a lot of the attractions and what to expect before we came and Lucille has said she doesn't care for roller coasters. Okay I can understand that they aren't for everybody. What I am unprepared for is a deep deep fear of heights. By the end of the ride her fingerprints are imbedded in my right arm. The speed, twists turns an d sense of flight are more than she can handle. Once off the seats we find a place for her to sit down and recover and after insureing she is okay I go off to retrieve of stuff. Outside we find a place to grab a smoke and leet her recover some more and decisde that the other attractions here are not for her. As I enjoyed it she tells me to go back and ride it again if I want and she'll go shopping especially as we at Olivanders and she wants a wand. Again i make sure she is okay and off I go. I get all the way to the Character preview for the ride and the announcements that there is problem and that operations have been halted for the momement and will resume shortly start. Four cycles of the show later the line starts moving again. Again I found the ride great but before I can enter the shop area the announcement of a problem is playing again. Hedwig I don't think we're in WDW any more. Before we meet back up I jump on Flight of the Hippogriff and for a wild mouse its okay Dragon Quest just light Forbidden Journey has a problem before I can get on it when it happens a second time before I get on I decide that too many fresh picked Scottish Pixies are running arround to risk it and head off to find my wife
I agree. Universal is NOT Disney. DH and I had problems from the get go with them. From buying tickets down to rude CM's in Zonko's. (She actually said she didn't like my shirt!) We didn't ride on anything and only stayed a couple of hours. It was busy and packed. There was a 1.5 hour line just to get into Olivanders! Never again.
I have a fear of heights, but mainly because I could not look down on Forbidden Journey that didn't bother me on that ride. But now I'm wishing I had put that in my TR to help others. So sorry that Lucille had a bad experience! WWoHP is done very well, but you are so right "It's not Disney." Definitely sounds like the Scottish pixies were wreaking havoc that day for you all!
Wow, not the greatest start to your day at Universal, with all those ride problems and your wife's fear of heights. I hope she was Ok?

The rides where a new sort of adventure and Lucilles fear of heights was something I completely forgot about.

The basic experience of WWoHP wasn't that bad the crowd level was acceptable nothing like you had Coop or what you described Cam But I really didn't think IoA was going to be that far from the standard I have come to expect.
