Brent and Liz’s ‘I wonder what it would be like to spend Valentine’s day with Cinderella, errr I mean at Disney?’ PTR!
I just paid off our trip and officially started packing, so I thought I should probably start our pre trip report. It’s just me and Liz again. We are making what has become our annual mid Winter retreat to the world, to get out of the harsh Michigan Winter and recharge our batteries a bit, sans kids. This trip began life last Summer when Disney released it’s Free Dining promotion for Winter, and I mentioned Valentine’s day. Hmmmm we have actually never been to Disney world during any kind of a holiday like that, so we figured why not? Our anniversary is a month later so this can kind of be an anniversary trip as well. For those of you who are new to us and our adventures, here’s a little background:
I am Brent, devoted, loving husband and Cinderella fanatic:
Suffice it to say I am in all likelihood Cinderella’s biggest fan, at least in the male over 40 years of age demographic. We won’t go into reasons why right now, but Cinderella and her story, along with our encounters with her at Disney have really kind of been there at big moments in my relationship with Liz. I am really looking forward to seeing her on Valentine’s day. As you have probably guessed by now, my lovely wife is Liz:
She has the same adoration for Stinker bell, err I mean Tinker Bell as I do for Cinderella, for reasons unknown.
Tink almost without fail gives me grief when we meet her, and Liz just loves it.
Anyway, we are leaving Michigan via plane out of Detroit Metro Airport on Saturday Feb 4th, and not coming back until Wed Feb 15th! We didn’t start out to make it this long of a trip. Usually we pad the number of days we book to allow for flexibility in vacation time, and cheaper flights, then cancel some days when our travel plans firm up. This time we didn’t trim it down any and we will be gone a week and a half! We are staying at Pop Century and have 10 day park hoppers. We will rent a car if we can find a good rate.
We have a midday flight, so if all goes well we should be able to get settled in our room and make our 8:15 adr at Chef Mickey. Always a good way to start our vacation off! The next day, Sunday the 5th of Feb, we are planning to go to the Magic Kingdom, make a sharp right turn after we get inside and go straight into Town Square theatre to see my beloved Cinderella, (and the other Princesses too.) After spending a fun filled day at the Magic Kingdom we are having dinner at 1900 Park Faire with Cinderella!
I’ll share more details on the rest of our trip later, as I am running short on time, but as I said, earlier today I pulled out my planning folder and called in our final payment:
Then I started packing: I packed a few shirts in my carry on:
Then even though it’s February, we will probably still have some swimming pool time so in went the bathing suit:
But since it is February, I will also need my sweatshirt:
Anyone notice a theme here?
More to come later. Those of you who have followed us in the past know I make new shirts for our trips using pictures of our previous trips. I hope to work on those over the Holiday break. Can’t wait to show you guys because we got some great pictures on our last trip that I can’t wait to put on shirts. Stay tuned for more of our plans, can't wait to share!

So excited to see you've started your PTR! I have to say I really like your carry on bag, and I can't wait to see your new t-shirts once they are made as I think I know some of the pictures that will be making an appearance.
Given your amazing experiences last trip, you're sure to have an awesome array of new shirts this trip! Probably part of the reason you couldn't reduce the trip this time - you'll need all those days to cycle thru the wardrobe!

Good to see you will get to spend more time with your favorite girls!!! I will celebrate along with you ( my DD sweet sixteen party is on the 4th as well).
Oh boy! Sounds like a great trip. I would love to know how you make your shirts. We just booked for Sept '12 and would like to make some for my son....and maybe us too. Looking forward to more of your trip report.
