sounds like you all had a very productive and fun day for Peter's birthday...and it looks like the birthday boy enjoyed every minute of all the attention! I'm glad Jacob got to ride Mission: Space with you all after reaching his height requirement. It's exciting when you go on a trip and you realize the kids (or in my case, kid) are tall enough to ride some of your favorite rides now!
He did enjoy all the attention, even though he sometimes acted embarrassed about all the fuss. I think the best part was just walking around the parks and having CMs and other guests wish him a happy birthday because of his birthday button!

I'm celebrating my 40th this fall at F&WF. I hope "full of a lot of fun and a lot of food" will describe my birthday also!!

When Beverly first hit my tongue it wasn't horrible, but as time passed, the taste got worse and worse! The tour was fun, even though I was annoyed with the 2 girls that were in our group. If the roles had been reversed, at some point I would have pulled my kids aside and told them to hang back a bit so the other children would have a chance to participate too. Instead, the grandma of one of the girls was so busy videotaping her granddaughter that she literally pushed my kids out of her way so she could "get the shot".
I forgot to mention that toward the end, our tour guide handed us each a wooden disk with the name of an animal on it. She would choose someone to be the line leader and we all (adults too) walked in a single file line through MK acting like whichever animal the line leader had on his or her disk. We got quite a few surprised looks and laughs. It was a hoot.

Being at Disney on your birthday is just the best isn't it?! DH & I celebrated our 30ths in 2010 and each of our son's 1st trips were for their 1st birthdays.
Just joined in for your TR. The view from your villa is awesome!! We want to go Hogwarts but don't seem to have time to leave the Disney bubble . I love the shirts you had made for your Son's B'day!! And the birthday package left for him was really nice!!
Wonderful start to the birthday! The video was classic! I'm never able to take more than one sip.
I'm impressed that you've tried it more than once!!

Yes, I'm thinking that Disney trips need to play a key part in future birthdays!!

Thanks for reading along! It is hard to find the time to leave Disney -- we've been vowing to do it for years and finally forced ourselves to find the time because the kids were begging to do it!

After choking down Beverly (and after Jacob had many, many cups of Fanta) at Club Cool, we had about 10 minutes until our FPs for Test Track were ripe. So we headed back in that direction and waited. As we waited, the FP line grew longer and longer, until it extended all the way out into the pavilion!
We had an 8:00 ADR at Teppan Edo, so we knew we’d be cutting it close. They finally got the FP line moving, and by 7:30 we were in the briefing room. We had a great time pretending to be crash test dummies, though I don’t think Linda would volunteer for that duty again!
We then hustled over to Japan. On the way, my dad called to say he and my mom were there already, so I asked them to go ahead and check us in. Teppan Edo had been the only ADR that I had been unable to convert from 8 to 9 people when Robert’s plans changed and he decided to join us earlier than he originally planned. The hostess said they could accommodate 9 people, but there would be a bit of an extra wait. We agreed since Robert, who had flown in that afternoon, had not yet made it to the park from BCV. About 8:20, he arrived and we were seated.
Our chef, Yuka, was really sweet and fun, though her “show” was not as thrilling as some of the other chefs around us. David, Linda, Tom, Robert, Peter and Jacob all ordered the filet mignon. I had the chicken and shrimp. Dawn had pork tenderloin, and Loyd had a swordfish steak. Jacob really enjoyed the udon noodles.
At the end of the meal, they brought Peter’s birthday cake that I had pre-ordered. He had originally wanted a Tron-themed cake, but we found out that they cannot do custom cakes at Teppan Edo. Our choices were a chocolate or vanilla round cake, and we had the option to screen print a character on the cake. Peter loves Stitch, so that was an easy choice! The CMs sang to Peter and he made his birthday wish. They also presented him with a birthday card that several of the CMs had signed in both English and Japanese. The cake was good, but the frosting was very sweet!
As we left, we caught the tail end of IllumiNations. It turns out that the area at the top of the stairs, just outside Teppan Edo and Tokyo Dining is not a bad viewing spot! By now, it was almost 10:00 and we’d had a long day. We headed back to BCV and got the kids into bed. By all accounts, Peter had a fantastic birthday!
Up next: The run for TSMM!!

What a wonderful way to end the birthday celebration. Although you say "The cake was good, but the frosting was very sweet!" Like it's a bad thing. I'm the complete opposite. The sweeter the frosting the better.
What a great dinner. And that cake looks delish! Excellent birthday. Well done, Mom!!

Looks like Peter had a wonderful birthday!!! What an awesome cake!! Love the video reaction to drinking Beverly. Classic. Just thinking about it, I can taste it. YUCK!
I was really happy with how it came out. For future reference, it's nice to know that the "standard" cake is quite nice!

LOL, yes, I'm not a frosting person. When we have birthday cake in the office, I often joke with my boss that we should just split a piece. He eats only the frosting and I eat only the cake, leaving a ring of frosting on my plate.

I was a little nervous about the birthday, to be honest, because I wasn't sure what expectations Peter may have had in his head. I'm glad he wasn't disappointed!

Thanks! I'm glad we videotaped the Beverly reaction because still photos just wouldn't have done it justice!

Thank you! I'm happy with how our shirts came out. It sure did make it easy to spot each other in the parks. For the rest of the trip, we lamented that we weren't all dressed alike! I see from you signature picture that you all had matching t-shirts as well. Did you find it easier to keep up with each other that way? I'm seriously considering matching shirts for every day on our next trip!

I am finally caught up with the PTR and now the TR. Loving the idea of having Christmas at WDW. Going to WDW during Christmas I guess you could say is on my bucket list. I guess as long as I work in the hospital environment it will have to be because we aren't allowed to take off from Thanksgiving until after the first of the year. BTW we live in Houston too....so a fellow hello.
Enjoyed your hearing about your experience at Universal. We haven't left the bubble yet ourselves but my oldest(6) loves Harry Potter although he hasn't read them yet. I think I might use that as a motivation tool.
We are going during Fourth of July so I need to start reminding him that we may have to stand on buses now. Crowd prediction is also slating it as a 10/10 week. I already informed him no double stroller this year. He took that fairly well. Hopefully he will handle the crowds as well.
Looking forward to hearing more.
