Okay, I know I haven't finished my food and wine TR and I'm working on a DL TR too, but I wanted to let you all know that you won't have to wait until April for my next WDW trip.
When the announcement was made that the Magic Kingdom was going to be open for 24hrs to celebrate More Magic and an Extra Disney Day on February 29th, I decided right then that I wanted to be there. So I went ahead and booked a room at Kidani Village for February 28th--March 2nd. It's after the Mardi Gras Mayhem and before March Madness. Mardi Gras day is February 21st and Final Four is March 31st-April 2nd and then I'll be back in WDW in mid April after French Quarterfest and before Jazzfest.
I'm busy looking for airfare right now. I think, right now based on flight times that Southwest is going to win the airfare war, because it's a little bit more money, but the times are better and the flights are direct. I'll get in at about 11:30 on the 28th and my flight won't leave until 8pm on the 2nd. However, there was a Ding for Jackson to Orlando for February today--so I'm hoping for a Ding for New Orleans to Orlando sometime in the next week and a half--when I'll actually have enough money to book said flights. Nobody else seems to be able to get me to Orlando before 3pm on Tuesday, which is unacceptable for such a short trip.
I was considering staying 4 nights and coming back early in the morning--in time to work on Saturday at 11:30, but I'm a little short on points thanks to my stay at the Grand Californian.
When I called member services this morning I had several options: Kidani, OKW, and Saratoga Springs. Anyone think I should stay somewhere else for this short trip? I was thinking about waitlisting for BLT or VWL--due to their proximity to the MK. Of course if I win the lottery before I hit the holding policy thing for DVC points I'll be staying Concierge at the Poly.
In case anyone is keeping track of my vacations--because you want to read about them or because you want to have a margarita with me . . . February/March 2012, April 2012 WDW and WWoHP, October 2012 for Food and Wine and Cruising December 2012 on the Fantasy.
It'll be so much fun to spend the night at MK! (I have some extra points that I need to use before October and won't be able to use at WDW. I was thinking of a weekend in NYC, but don't have enough for that at a non-Disney hotel. If you'd like to use these points for your 4th night, PM me.)
Can I say jealous of all those vacations? While I thought the announcement of the One More Disney Day wasn't the greatest, I'm intrigued to hear all about it and I'm delighted you're going to be there to report on it.

Hmmmm...now I am thinking that I ought to come down on the night of the 28th, stay all day the 29th and come home on 1 March, because I can. I have the points, I have the leave... now to convince the hubby to let me go solo for 2 days...

Meeting Jacques in January 1976!! My first WDW trip.
How exciting, Heather! So glad someone from the Passporter family will be there!!! And I must admit I'm just a tad bit envious of your 2012 plans... lots of Disney magic in your future!
I was hoping we'd get a PPer review of the 24 hours at MK! I can't wait to hear all about it!!! It does sound fun! I wonder what, if any, special activities will be going on overnight... a parade at 3am? Fireworks at 4am? I'm so intrigued!
So excited you can take advantage of the 24 hour day!! And I wish I could have a margarita with you in 2012, but since 2011 included 2 WDW trips and 2 Dream cruises, plus a stay at DVC's HHI, I think I'm sidelined for 2012.
I did use your Ruby's Revenge recipe on NYE - it was a big hit, thanks!!

So jealous! As soon as they made the announcement I totally priced 2 day trip so I could do MK for 24 hrs! Looking forward to hearing all about this adventure!!
