I have to admit to you that I saw you at The Seas on Friday but was too chicken to go up and say hi, plus I was dealing with a moody pre-teen that morning which put ME in an ugly mood!
Glad to hear you're feeling better. Can't wait to read your TR, and I have to start mine as well.

Aww, really! I hope I wasn't doing anything embarrasing, lol. I wish you had said hi, but I know how it is when life has put you in a grump. Hope you had a wonderful vacation!!

Nope, nothing embarrassing! I just always feel like a stalker when I go up to people I only know online, so I always chicken out. Our vacation was wonderful, thanks!
Allrighty my friends, let's get this TR off the ground! To start things off I had booked the first Southwest flight out of Bradley Intl. Airport, which happened to be at 6:50am Which meant that I was awake very early (3:30am) to get showered and ready to be on the road by 4:30am. Because it was the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning there was zero traffic and I made the hours drive to the airport in about 40 minutes. I would have been there even sooner except my GPS took me off the exit before it should have and depositted me into the fenced parking lot of the industrial complex next to the airport . But, I turned myself around and was pretty quickly back on track.
I breezed through security and thankfully only had about an hours wait before boarding. I had done EBCI and was the 3rd of 4th person on the plane and scored the window-seat of the over-the-wing exit row. Which meant, ahhh, leg room! The flight was uneventful, slightly bumpy because of the clouds/storms on the way down, and because of the headwind took about 3.5 hours. But, soon enough I was at MCO and boarding the DME bus on my way to my home for the week: Old Key West.
Thoughts on the resort: I loved how laid back everything felt and it truly does make you think of Key West. But, man, that resort is HUGE! I didn't really explore much because of its size.
Check in was super smooth and I was put in the South Point section, room 5210, which was on the ground floor and right on the end corner of the building. It was also right next to the bus stop. I LOVED the decor of the room, post renovation! It felt very BCV actually, but better than the old peach/green combo. I also liked that the studios have 2 beds, which is something I will keep in mind for future trips with other people. In fact, my only complaints about the room are 2 things out of my or the resorts control. The first being that because of the connecting door I feel like I heard the people in the next unit over A LOT in the evenings and the second that all of the busses drive right in front of the building in order to loop around to the bust stop and some of those busses are LOUD. But, after the first couple nights, I barely noticed the traffic noises.
Once I had dropped my carry-on off in the room and made the decision not to change into capris and stay in my jeans (it was chilly!) I headed out to Magic Kingdom. I had decided that this would be VERY low-key, no set plans, if a line was too long I would skip it kind of trip. Consequently, I spent a good amount of time just wandering around, shopping, and people watching. But, back to this day, I did some rides: PotC, Splash Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and MILF from what I can recall.
I also had lunch at Columbia Harbor House pretty soon after arriving at the park. I had the Grilled Salmon with cole slaw and steamed broccoli which was excellent. CHH is definately one of my go to places in MK because I've never had a bad meal there. And especially now that I can't really do a lot of carbs (like buns on dogs and burgers or sandwhich bread) it's a great option for me.
At one point, I did manage to stop and watch Dream Along with Mickey, which I have never seen before It's actually a super cute show and I don't know why I have blown it off up until now.
The lines were pretty manageable this day, despite being the weekend, and I literally walked into Town Square Theater and saw Mickey and Minnie and then the Princesses within 5 minutes for each line. I had also found my ears for this trip at that point (they are pirate Minnie Mouse ears!) and they had literally just been put out on the display (the CM was unpacking boxes as I was trying them on). When I tell you, I got SO MANY compliments on them that week from everyone! The characters and the CMs were all like, I love your ears where did you get them?!
I have to say, this group of princesses was not very interactive, at least with me. It was hello, thank you for coming, let's take a piture, and ta ta.
I think I had popcorn for dinner this night because nothing was really appealing to me and I was exhausted from being up so early. I wanted to try and make it to 8pm to watch Wishes, but by like 6:30p I was dragging and it was too chilly to just sit someplace and hang out until the fireworks started (no MSEP this night). So, I called it a night and headed back to OKW to unpack and catch some
One thing I noticed in my Photopass pics (especially in the above ones) is that I seem to have about 3 different poses, lol. But, barring one incident, I was very pleased with how the pics came out and was happy I once again pre-purchased the cd.
