Forget a Wooden Anniversary…We are Having a 5 Year Disneyversary!! (04/21-04/28) PTR
Hi Everyone, We are a little less than 2 months away from our Disney vacation so I decided to get a PTR started.
The Backstory
There is not too much back-story to this trip since it was a last minute decision. This past weekend my DH Tom and I were sitting talking and I was complaining about how far away our October trip was. We are pass holders so we decided what the heck let’s see if we can price something out that works. I hopped on Touring Plans to see what the crowds were looking like and mid-April looked ok. I wanted to try for March since it will be our 5 year anniversary but the crowds looked wayyy to heavy. We decided we would celebrate our anniversary a little late this year and have a Disneyversary!! It would also be a belated Easter celebration for the family. The next step, over to the pass holder site, we priced out a pass holder package at a value resort. I had heard so many good things about Pop Century so we decided to see if anything there was available. To our delight there was, a good sign.
The next question was Dining Plan or No Dining Plan. We priced our package with the DDP and DxDP, the price difference wasn’t too bad and with the way we eat the DxDP would work better for us but for how much it costs we decided to price it out. So we sat at the kitchen table and pulled up a spreadsheet. We priced out the meals we wanted and what we would end up ordering. On a side note I love allears.net. After we were done it looked like we would come out ahead on the DxDP. So we went back to the pass holders site and priced out our package, the prices looked good so my DH told me to book it. I was soo excited I was dancing in the kitchen. Instead of our trip being 200 and something days away it was now 60 days away!
Here are of the details –
Dates – April 22, 2012 – April 27, 2012 How are we getting there – Renting a Car and Driving (Me and my DH are not Fliers) Lodging – Pop Century Preferred Room Tickets – We are Annual Pass Holders Dining Plan – Deluxe
I hope that you and your family have a magical time at the world

Kristin - (me) – Recently bitten by the Disney bug and can’t get enough. I love planning our trips and doing all the spreadsheets that go with it. I have only recently been going on Disney trips but now that we have started going we know Disney whether in FL, CA, or even DCL will be our vacation destination.
Tom - (DH) – I think he was bitten by the Disney bug first. That first walk down Main Street and I think he was hooked. He is also getting more and more into the planning and likes to help price out trips and make the ADR’s. He told me today making the ADR’s are like gambling but atleast when you make ADR’s you get something in the end.
Alex - (DS) – The first trip we made to the Magic Kingdom he really didn’t care but after our first on property trip he loves Disney. He tells “wanna go Disney”. It is very cute. He has an undiagnosed special need, long story, and there is something about Disney that is therapeutic for him. Since our last trip he has started talking more and getting more words which we are thrilled about.
Now onto our ADR’s –
Once we decided we were going to go I got nervous about what we would do for ADR’s. I mean it was only 60 days out and most make ADR’s at 180 days. Now the funny thing about the way we made our ADR’s is that we made them BEFORE we even booked the trip lol. We wanted to know what we could get before we decided how long or when we would go. We went to touring plans and looked to see what the recommended parks were and picked the restaurants we wanted to try for accordingly. This is what we ended up getting –
4/22/2012 The Turf Club 5:00PM
4/23/2012 Akershus Hall Princess Breakfast 8:10AM
Chip 'n' Dale Garden Grill 6:55PM
4/24/2012 Donald's Saf. Breakfast 9:05AM
Yak and Yeti 6:00PM
4/25/2012 Crystal Palace 8:30AM
Whispering Canyon Café 5:15PM
4/26/2012 Hollywood and Vine 8:00AM
Ohana 7:55PM
4/27/2012 Whispering Canyon Café 11:45AM
Surprisingly we got every ADR we wanted. I was very surprised, especially that there was anything available at Tusker House or Ohana because I know those are very popular. We are very happy with our choices and they are all ones that Alex loved on our last trip. Well except for Akershus and Yak and Yeti these are new ones for us. We will do CS lunches to give Alex a break from TS.
