Sorry for the lack of updates but it was a crazy weekend. I get to the details later. But now to the good part.
I was pretty sure Disney would come out with a promotion for summer dates. Last week I had told Arben that if a promo would come out it’ll be after March 31. The first thing I did this morning was log on to the Disney site to see what they had. And there it was. The room only discount promotion for summer dates. I immediately quoted online to see how much it would save me and also to see if they had availability. After I did that, I called. It was a super fast and easy process and I was done like in 10 minutes. I managed to get the discount applied and saved $411.76. Now that’s what I’m talking about! I know it’s not much, but any money I can save is enough for me. I called Arben and he was super happy.
Now on to my crazy weekend... On Friday I went out to do some damage on Arben’s bonus. I bought some shirts for me and a couple of Mickey coloring books for Abniel and Adriel.
Then my dad called me to tell me that he was working in the yard and cut his leg with a machete knife. I asked him if he was ok and said he was fine, that he wasn’t bleeding or anything, that it was a superficial cut. My mom was at work, so dad was alone at the house.
I was kind of tired and decided I would cut the shopping trip short. I went to the bank and then to buy myself something to eat. While I was at the drive-thru my dad called again to see what I was doing. He then told me that he had started bleeding and that he wanted me to come over to look at it and see if it needed stitches. So after getting my food I went over to his house.
Oh my gosh! When I got there the place looked like a murder scene, there was blood everywhere and it kept on coming. He had walked all over the house so you can imagine how the floors were. I looked at the cut and indeed it needed stitches. So as I ate, he got ready. We went to the hospital (where my sister works) and they immediately took him inside.Even though the cut was small, it was pretty bad. The cut was close to the ankle and he cut a major vein. It required 6 stiches. If it weren't for the bleeding, my dad wouldn't have gone to the hospital. He's very hard headed.
After that was done I went to pick up my kids from school, then I took my dad to get his medicines, then I went to buy a pizza for us. After we were done eating it was time to take Abniel and Adriel to catechism. Arben then called me to say he wanted to go to the mall. I left the two youngest with my mom. We browsed a couple of stores and then went to Sears to make our big purchase. We bought a treadmill, just in time for our vacation. You have to be in good shape right?
Saturday was another shopping day. I got two pairs of shorts for the trip. The boys were with me so I couldn’t buy anything for them.
Yesterday was church in the morning and then to my sister’s house to celebrate my bil’s 30 th birthday.
I’m planning on going next Saturday to the outlet mall and see what I can find there. There’s also a Disney store there, I’m hoping I can buy some stuff for the kids.

Congrats on the savings! I'd say that is a pretty nice amount of savings. I'm always happy with any savings I can get. More money for me to spend while there! Sorry you had such a stressful weekend. Your father sounds like mine. Only go to the hospital if absolutely necessary (ie. someone is bleeding). I'm glad you were able to take care of him and get him the care he needed. Here's to hoping your next few days are rather uneventful - well unless they are the good kind of eventful.

I was happy with any type discount. Free dining would've been great , but I knew that wasn't gonna happen.
My father can be very hard headed. After he came home from he wouldn't stay still, he was walking around and not resting his foot as he was supposed to do. He's better now.

Yes, we'll be PIF soon and with a very small balance thanks to the summer discount.
I just saw your post in the thread about the summer discounts. I'm so happy for you! I guess this somewhat makes up for the more expensive plane tickets! That plus your DH's bonus...yippee! Now don't you go spend it all too quickly!!!
Your poor dad! Thank goodness he called you back! Ah, parents, they don't want to bother their children, but they don't realize that when they don't tell us the truth right away, it often leads to more work for us! I'm just glad it was taken care of...hope he's on the mend!
