Great plans! I heard about the lunch with an animal specilist on the podcast and it sounds great! Maybe I'll look into that. I like to try to do at least one special thing each trip.
I see your reasoning for picking Maya Grill. But I was hoping for a Heather food review of the CMC for dinner. You always have such good detailed reviews and we can't eat there because of my son's shellfish allergies but is smells sooooo good each night we walk past for ice cream an B&C.
Can't wait to hear what you think of Dining with an Animal Specialist as I think I'd like to do this June 2013 when my DSis and her family are with us. My DNiece loves animals. You know this little ole Kentucky girl has to holler, "Go Cats!" And right now they are looking very awesome!
I did, in fact, survive the Final Four and it's aftermath. I never got out of bed on Wednesday. I'm still tired, but we're having a nice slow Easter weekend. Two of my coworkers did not survive the weekend and now our bar staff has gone from 5 1/2 bartenders to 3 1/2 bartenders. Lots of extra hours in the coming weeks--don't know what they are going to do while I'm out of town, but I guess they'll figure it out.
I had to make some changes to my touring plans because I decide two things: first I don't want to get out of bed for any Morning Extra Magic Hours and my previous plan had two parks that have Extra Magic Hours. I also decided that I'd like to go to the Studios this trip--I've been skipping it a lot.
Day 1 hasn't changed--still going to Epcot and having dinner at Bistro de Paris
Day 2 I'm going to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then Magic Kingdom--just to see the part of the Fantasyland Expansion that is open
Day 3 I'm going to the Studios in the morning, dining with an Animal Specialist at Sanaa and then massage in the afternoon
Day 4 I'm going back to Animal Kingdom and I changed my Grand Floridian Cafe reservation to Yak and Yeti, since I skipped it last month.
Oh, boy. I hope they find some good replacements for the missing staff. The extra hours are great, especially with WDW as a reward, but you'll burn out if you keep it up for long. New plans look great-- don't blame you at all for wanting to sleep in on your hard-earned vacation!
I'm standing at work with my clipboard and notebook trying to work on my packing list so I can get all of the laundry done by Thursday and I'm stuck! I have no idea what to take this trip!
and for figuring out what to pack. We had summer weather here in March and now are back to cooler spring temps, so we're having trouble just deciding what to wear here from day to day.
We stayed at CSR twice and really enjoyed it both times.
Here are some good points about it:
The bus service is the best we've had at any resort.
The conventioneers mean less crowded pool and buses.
Great pool and awesome margaritas at the pool bar.
Beautiful grounds so you won't mind all the walking. It's great exercise anyway.
Cute outdoor bar and seating area on the lake.
Sophisticated rooms with solid doors between sleeping and vanity area.
Maya Grill is underrated. Great atmosphere with mariachi music and the complimentary chimmichurri dip with the bread is to die for. I've replicated it many times since for dinner parties.
Have a great time!
