The Happiest Bachelorette Party on Earth: Trip Report - UPDATED 4/17
The Happiest Bachelorette Party on Earth
It has been a group decision since Crissy is buried in wedding planning and packing boxes that Melanie, Maria, and myself would write this trip report. Since I was the first to arrive it was voted that I would be the one to start our journey. Sorry for the delay.
Let's Get this Party Report Started(since the wedding is a month from today)!!
I know it is standard to write in the format: Who, What, When, Where, Why. I decided I was going to do the opposite for our trip report introductions.
Why: Princess Crissy is getting Married April 14th and a princess needs one last “HoooRah” before the Big Day! Where does a Princess go to have a party? Walt Disney World of course.
Where: Split stay in 2 Bedroom Villa's . One night was in Boardwalk Villa's and the other 2 nights Animal Kingdom Kidani Villa's
When: February 17-20, 2012(Friday-Monday). This allowed some of us with it being President's Day to save an extra vacation day from work.
What: NOT just a Bachelorette Party but a Bachelorette Party Weekend. Which incorporated Grand Tea, dancing, 1 or 2 maybe more adult beverages, a broken toe, gawking at dress attire, park hopping, a flat tire, fine dining, a scavenger hunt, and some character interaction. BUT most importantly FRIENDS celebrating a special event inside the Disney Magic. Which brings me to the,
Who: This had both live and virtual attendees(when cell phone batteries were alive). I must add that all in attendance minus one are Fellow Passporter's.
Live Attendee's:
Crissy(scdisneyfan) our Bride to Be
Kelly: Crissy's friend from Tampa
Melanie(Princessa_di_Fata)
Maria(starla4436)
Tammy(tammyd_rn)
I personally was able to start the party a little earlier than the other live attendee's. I flew out of Houston on February 15th after a detour of dropping children off at school, day care and idling in Houston traffic.
My uneventful flight was on time with departure and arrival. I walked straight down to the DME area and was escorted directly on to a bus for AS Music. I was the last to get on before we took off. All Star Music was the second drop off. I ended up being second in line at the online check in counter. The lady in front of me didn't have her ID on her so she had to run back outside for a few minutes.
Unbelievably my room was ready in the Broadway section and it was only One O'clock. I found my way past the two pools to the room. The second pool was practically empty. If I had packed my swimsuit in my carry on I might have ventured that way. Instead I gave my phone a 30 minute charge in the room while I freshened up and moved a few things that I might want into the camera bag and was off to catch a bus to Epcot.
I ended up waiting about 20 minutes for the bus but I think I must have just missed the previous one because the Epcot line was empty. After making it through security at Epcot I made a stop at a Ticket Counter to turn over my renewal card for a paper Annual Pass. Why is that I wonder?
At the ticket turn stile my finger or the AP didn't want to cooperate. So I was one of those “Line Hold Up” individuals. Sorry!!! Three fingers and a whole different hand I was finally given the green light. What a site...Beautiful Spaceship Earth...where I proceeded to send this picture to my live attendee's letting them know I was waiting on them.
From there I went to the West Innoventions so I could take advantage of the Disney Visa character interaction which was a walk up by the way. I was able to have my picture taken with Goofy and Minnie this trip. After my character time I went out the back entrance of Innoventions towards Canada.
I just browsed my way through the shops in Canada, UK and France. Which is a rarity with 3 males making up the other half of my family. In Morocco I stopped to watch Mo Rockin and send my DH a picture of the belly dancer before I proceeded on. I bypassed Japan thinking I wanted a Limoncello Margarita in Italy but decided I didn't really want to drink alone. I changed my mind later that night on that decision.
I had read about the cheese stuffed pretzels in America on the Disney Food Blog so I made that my next stop. I found a table and sat down to enjoy my snack. As I did I got a text from Dawn or Melissa stating that she heard Crissy's celebration on the Passporter podcast. It was on my departure flight that I was able to hear the celebration. I ended up texting with those two ladies for a while before I moved on.
I browsed my way through Germany and sniffed heavily at the Werther store before I moved onto China. My goal was to take in China since I have never really been anywhere but outside the exhibit and a quick browse through the gift shop. I listened in on a families personal Disney tour guide inside with the Tomb Warriors while I was waiting on the next showing of Reflections. I enjoyed both my eavesdropping and the show in particular. Here is where I made my first gift purchase. My SIL was staying at the house helping out with the boys and she is a big Panda fan so I bought her a bracelet that has her name in Chinese with a Panda Bear on it.
Next stop Norway. I thought hard about buying a bottle of Laila but decided against it since I knew we would be back at some point and I still had three more suitcase moves. I did smell good for the rest of the afternoon though.
Mexico I took a boat ride to check on Donald and his crew. At this point I checked the time guide and saw that Off Kilter would be staring in 30 minutes so I decided to hit that before exiting park for the day. I have always heard them sing one or two songs but never the whole session so I was looking forward to this opportunity. While I was watching them I noticed a little boy with a yellow tutu on dancing away to their show. I am assuming he borrowed the tutu from his sister who was in the stroller and that he thought he was wearing his own kilt. Either way it was fun to watch him get his groove on.
As I headed towards the exit I stopped by the Kodak shop to pick up my free 5x7. I probably had a 15 minute wait for the standing room only bus.
Once back in the room I checked in with the boys and gave my phone another quick charge before I headed to Downtown Disney for dinner and shopping.
I decided to sit at the bar at Ragland Road for dinner. This is where my drinking alone decision change as I did partake in a couple of beers with my dinner. Then I practically drooled over my dessert of Bread Pudding. Crissy and I texted for a few minutes where I also sent her pictures of dinner and dessert. I also let her know that her Celebration was on the podcast.
Up Next: Defeated by the No Way Jose and 15 more minutes no 30 more minutes.....never mind Scrubbed!
