Before I even knew it was your TR, I saw the title and was hooked. My mom used to sing me that song when I was little so it has a special place in my heart. A little disappointed that we will be missing you by 9 days though!!!
You are killing me! First I find out we'll miss each other by 2 days in September and now you spring this on me?! I'm so excited for you though, but I'm jealous too!
So is Arnaud staying home with Andre by himself while you 2 are off having fun?
Linny, how awesome! I thought maybe you were inspired by the Girls Bachelorette weekend TR! Not sure you can do FAB's together with Josie! But you will most certainly have a great time, and the frosting on the cake has to be the fact that you're staying in the new royal room!
Looking forward to hearing more, and hope your airfare comes through!

Hi Linny!
I am new to posting on these boards, but I've read many trip reports here for a few years. I have always enjoyed reading yours and just love your beautiful family! I took my oldest DD to Disneyland (we lived in the west) for a mom/daughter trip when she was little and it was wonderful. There is nothing like spending time with your special girl in the place you love! We are going to do another mom/daughter trip the first of Sept. before she starts her senior year. I can't wait to hear all the details and read all about your trip!
Lyn
How exciting! We had planned for years to do a mother/daughter trip when my daughter turned 21 last November. Then she decided to invite a friend, so I decided to bring my DH...anyways our mother/daugher trip turned into four of us, so I am still waiting for our special trip! I wish I had started the tradition when she was younger. Looking forward to the details!
Many trips b/f 20000
8/2002 1st trip to Disney w/ DS and DH
8/2005 POFQ Family trip w/ DH, DS and DD
3/2006 POR Family trip with DH, DS and DD
1/2007 AKL, POFQ Family trip with DH, DS and DD
Sounds like a fantastic trip! You may have mentioned this in your post and I missed it, but is this a surprise trip for Josie?
It is a surprise......not sure how the reveal will go over though

Our first one was when Steph was 6. We had a blast. We have done a few since then too and they are always fun! Last week I booked for May 29-June 3rd, just the two of us. Steph is 21 now so I don't know how many more of these she will want to go on with me.
Can't wait to read all about it!
Oh That's great! 21, wow, the time does fly by i guess.

Aww, a hanky. Well I hope they were happy tears, it is the sweetest song.

And that time of year is wonderful!
Can't wait to hear more!

Ya know, I was actually thinking of you and Maddie when I was booking this. I remembered reading your first TR with just her, and your parents too? That laid back style will for sure be us this time around. I'm guessing much different then your solo trips with Mary Devall? I'm even more excitited than ever

I did try to hint to Craig that I've always wanted to take individual trips with each of my boys...but he didn't seem to be catching on.
Bring on the details...and I'll send for your airfare!!
OH GIRL, you were the push I needed, maybe that's why I called on you I'm thinking you might need to be a little more direct with Craig......somewhere along the lines like " Hey honey, Josie and Linny are doing a trip to the world, I think I should go too and bring Jason or Tyler..................or just me???"

I did look at that week too, but that's our anniversary, and well, that wouldn't go over so well

THIS is what I wanted to tell you the other night!!!!!! I just wanted to be sure about it first though. Arnaud will be home alone. I actually think he is going to take a day off from work, work from home one day and then maybe have his mom come over one afternoon while he goes into the office. He'l be fine. Sports Center and the 2 of them are golden

Well at least you still got a trip with her in some fashion I hope to maybe make this a tradition, we shall see.
Flights are booked!!!! No turning back now! The prices were decent and I know they will only be going up at this point. We are leaving out of Philly again. I really did want to try for Spirit out of AC but even with their low fares they still get ya just about everywhere they can. Charging for luggage, at only 40lbs mind you. I could probably swing that with just one bag for the two of us, but then they hit you again with charging for a flippin carry on too. At the end of the day, the trip to Philly is cheaper, maybe a little more hectic for Arnaud having to pick us up, but at least I know I can pay $20 for one checked bag and bring a carryon and not have to worry about getting hit with anything else. I did have to take 2 different airlines, which I wasn’t crazy about, but the times were all wacky, and for such a short trip, I wanted to make the best use of time. We arrive MCO on Monday around noon and leave MCO on Thursday at 4:30pm. I was happy with those times, so we booked it.
I have decided to not go to AK on this trip. Boo, I know. BUT, it is Arnaud’s most favorite place to explore with Josie and I felt like I will just save that for Sept trip when we can all explore together. I noticed that Epcot has EMH in the AM on Tuesday and I really want to take our time and enjoy every nook and cranny of the park. Even more so the F&GF!! If anyone has some great tips on what to see there that would be fun for kids, please let me know. Josie is so into springtime right now, I know this park will be even more amazing to her than normal. She is tall enough to ride Soarin now too, I hope that goes over OK. Duffy Bear is her best friend these days, so hoping to see him and also color some Duffy’s around WS. Maybe I should get that passport thing for her?? Anyone ever do that? I have the time to just do what she wants and not have to worry about a baby, this is getting more and more exciting as I am typing. OH MY!!
So I guess this leaves MK for Wednesday. Geez, there is sooooo much we can do there, and like I mentioned without having Andre, I can really take the time and explore the Swiss Family Tree house and even Tom Sawyers Island. She is tall enough here for Splash M and BTMRR, but I think that one may be down. Has anyone been in Stitch’s? Last time I was in there it was some Alien Encounter, its different now right? Scary? What’s the deal? OMG……..Storybook Circus. Really this day will be endless.
Thursday Morning MK has EMH in the AM and I thought for sure we will go back there again this day and finish off the trip. I have been looking for a lunch ADR at CRT, with no luck. I did see an 8:30am for this day and decided to snag it. I’m not sure if I want to keep it or not yet. Not a big breakfast person and neither is Josie, but maybe the princesses will make up for it?? Not sure yet.
So I guess this leaves me with our first day and deciding what to do. The obvious choice would be DHS. We wouldn’t get to the park till I’m sure about 2ish. I don’t know. I’m thinking maybe skip it and go to Epcot? Maybe leave DHS and AK for the fall?? Not sure what to do at the moment. I was going to try and swing this whole trip without a PH pass, but again, not sure about that either. We have always had them, so this would be new to me.
I haven’t told Josie about this trip yet, for a few reasons. Last year we booked our DCL in March and didn’t sail until Oct. She knew about it the whole time, and I think after all the chatter about it, she started to think it was a joke and we weren’t really going anywhere. Even when I started the countdown calendar at 30 days, I still think it went over her head. Also, I’m not sure if she will get the whole just Mommy and her going thing. I plan on telling her the week before we go, mainly so she will get over the fact Daddy and Andre aren’t coming. She adores her baby brother so much, this might not go over the way I planned. UP NEXT: A little history on the ladies going on this adventure!
Congrats on booking air! Those airlines really try to get you any way they can, don't they? There is the funniest video on YouTube about that - FASCINATING AIDA - Cheap Flights - YouTube - WARNING, there is Irish cursing in this, so don't watch with the kids!!! It will have you rolling on the floor, though!
