Umm the wings look heavenly. Ohana is on "the list" for the family trip in June but with five of us the bill will easily be $200. I'm having a hard time with that one.
Good start to your first day... it sounds like the CN have not been saying Goodnight to George at POTC. I believe that there is a urban ledgend involving that. One of my favorite ways to relax is to ride the peoplemover and I have noticed it seems to be others as well. Quite often there can be a line these days. Can't wait to hear about your day in Epcot. I am guessing you will head straight to Soaring from the International gate. Has anyone ever determined that Mount Epcot is closer from International Gate than from the Front of the Park.
Sorry about creepy girl staring at you, that has happened to me before. I find it creepy too.. sometimes I say something.. like "Hello" and that breaks the Look. But I am thinking she may realize she was in the spell of a Princess. So she did not know what to do.

What a great first day. I'm tired thinking about all the criss crossing you did in the MK that day. SUre helps when you can go commando and not have a ton of people following along.
Those sticky wings look delicious! Are those the same as in O'hana? I'm dining there this summer.
I'm pretty sure they're the same!

Storybook Circus is really starting to look great, can't wait until all the walls are down - the theming though looks adorable.
I love the look of the Poly, keep trying to figure out when I could plan a short getaway and stay there, thought it might work on our July trip as we are still on the waiting list over at AKL for our last night...but even with the summer discount the one night is really expensive, much rather wait for a better deal.
Your sticky wings look so delicious...almost so good that I am rethinking our breakfast there (which we love) and adding dinner instead
Keep checking for a deal at the Poly. You and the girls would love it! And Kona is just as good for breakfast! Tonga toast!

We stayed at the Poly and you know, we never took the boat. Always planned to, but you know what they say about the best laid plans. I really want to stay there, but now that I've introduced Craig to the BC, I'll be hard pressed to get him out of there.
Love Mr. & Mrs. Bunny. But, he always seemed more of a bachelor to me.
You've still got time to finish before I'm done with this one (#3). And that's my excuse for multiple trips - I need to stay at all my favorite resorts!

Glad you said Kona pineapple bread is different from Ohana's. Otherwise I'd have been confused!
There definitely should be a few hundred little Easter Bunnies around!

What a bummer that POTC was done the whole day. Hopefully it will behave itself sometime within your trip.
You had a wonderful view from your room. Very nice! I would want to sit on it and eat ice cream too!
That lady was too funny! It all started because she liked my shirt. Then she made me like model it. I had to turn around so she could see the back, then she started looking for her favorite characters on it.

The Mickey Pretzel doesn't look so much like Pooh Bear anymore. It's my favorite MK snack.
I'm looking forward to reading along. BTW, do you fly from Mac Field?
The Mickey pretzels look more like Mickey now. I think before they were getting a little squashed. And I fly from ISP.

Yeah, who knew about the EB being married? For whatever reason I have always thought the EB was creepy, taking the kids tody to see him.........not happy about it though
I'm cracking myself up over the visual I just got - you taking your kiddos to see EB, you freak out and run screaming away, your kiddos look at you like you're crazy! Hope the real thing was less traumatic.

I would have stuck my tongue out at that kid or something to see if she'd stop staring. I can definitely see Chad doing that, me not so much, but it sounds like something definitely needed to shake her up a bit.
I was too afraid to do anything but escape as quickly as possible!

It's so funny how kids will make up their minds about something and there's no changing it! I'll have a funny story like that in Day 3.

Sorry the Pirates were not being cooperative, but they ARE pirates.... Kate will love seeing your photo of the "new" Barnstormer. She was distraught when I told her it was closing. It's been her favorite forever!
Looking forward to more!
That's a pretty long wait for your next trip! But I have a feeling you might be squeezing a quick trip in before then!

Those pirates were not cooperating! It's one thing when you know a ride's going to be down, so you can prepare. I knew I wouldn't get on BTMRR, so I was prepared. Not so for Pirates! It was harder to take!

Ohana is great, especially with a larger group! We'll be eating there on the big family trip this summer. If you're really wanting the wings, though, maybe try Kona for lunch?

I don't think they were saying goodnight to George. In fact, I think they must've been being mean to him or something! He was mighty ornery!
And kids stare at me all the time (kids love me - I always spend bus rides waving and talking to them). But this kid was beyond! Normally, I can laugh at that type of thing, but to this day, I'm still creeped out. Maybe because the girl in real life bore such a striking resemblance to the girl in The Ring. That photo I posted looks a lot like her. Same dead-eyed stare and everything.
Or maybe I've just seen too many horror flicks!

More please!
It does seem like I was commando touring, but it was more like, "I'll stroll over to Liberty Square. Now I'll stroll over to Adventureland." It was much more relaxed than it sounds!

Day Two – Sunday, March 25 Five characters in five minutes!
I was up early, so I took my time getting ready for the day. I had some leftover bread for breakfast and then took a stroll over to Epcot.
They were starting to set up for a big party.
I got to the IG at around 8:45. They opened up a little early, but I figured there’d just be another rope near the fountain, so I took my time getting there, getting a few photos.
When I got close to the Land, I could see they opened the park a few minutes early. It was about 8:55, but I could see people climbing Mt. Epcot. The area was still roped off though, forcing me to go past the fountain to get there. That actually worked to my advantage, because as I passed Character Connection, there was a CM standing outside trying to get people to come in. Sold!
There was nobody waiting in the queue. In fact, the CM there opened the little gate for me so I wouldn’t have to go through the switchbacks. I was able to see the Fab 5 in 5 minutes!
With that done, I continued over to get on Soarin’. I figured it was early enough that I could still wait in the standby line and grab a FP for a second ride. In fact, there was nobody in the standby line and I found myself waiting in Concourse 1 by 9:09. Not bad, right?
I knew I had a FP to ride again later, so I didn’t bother asking for the front row, but I ended up sitting in the front row, right in the center. I can’t tell you why, but I always enjoy this show the tiniest bit more when I’m barefoot! I need to remember to always wear flip flops to Epcot! The really peculiar thing about it is I normally hate being barefoot! Just one of my many, many quirks.
My FP return time wasn’t far off, so I figured I’d stick around rather than going someplace else only to double back. LWTL was a reasonable option, so that’s where I headed. I was in front of a couple, and the guy was one of those know-it-all types who was giving out wrong information. He was telling his girlfriend about how awesome LWTL will be because of the F&GF and how we’d be going backstage and see all the leftovers and stuff. It was annoying me and I didn’t want to be in front of them in the boat! Then the guy started a conversation with me and I decided he was ok after all!
LWTL was the same as it always is (despite what Mr. Know-It-All said). I wonder if my BFF Karen was home (she’s my Epcot neighbor, dontcha know).
But the fruits smelled absolutely amazing – particularly the mangos, pineapple and strawberries. Yum! You might think I was hard on Mr. Know-It-All, but he mentioned to his girlfriend that the food they grow there is served in the restaurants. He was right for once! And when they came to that part in the spiel, his girlfriend made an impressed noise like she is used to him talking out of his you-know-what and was actually surprised he was right for once!
I had some more time before my FP ripened, so I decided I’d go and do the Circle of Life movie. It’s been a while since I’ve seen that one. I asked a CM how much longer it would be and he said 12 minutes. Only thing, that’s exactly how long it would be before I could use my FP. So I decided to skip it. Only now I felt bad for the poor CM! I didn’t want to leave, so I came up with a “cover story” and asked him where the nearest restroom was. I knew where it was, actually, and I didn’t even have to go of course.
And what was even funnier, I went a different way than he told me anyway. I felt all guilty going down the escalator. I may have ducked down behind the person in front of me so the poor CM (who probably forgot about me two seconds after I walked away) wouldn’t have hurt feelings. I would have walked down to the far set of stairs, but that escalator was out of service, so the stairs over there were really congested and I didn’t want to swim upstream.
I did a bit of shopping while I waited for my Soarin FP window to open. There was a super cute Duffy outfit – a Mickey Mouse Club style t-shirt, black shorts, and Duffy-sized mouse ears. I so wanted to buy it for my nephew. Only I wasn’t sure my nephew would want it as much as I wanted it! I need to buy a Duffy just to dress him up in cute outfits!
I used my Soarin FP and had practically no wait. I decided to sit wherever they put me, but I ended up in the front row again. When I came out, I saw that the entire queue was full. Wow! The park sure filled up!
I decided I needed to ride Test Track one final time. It’s not my favorite, so I’m actually excited to hear about the upcoming refurb. Anyway, when I got over there, the standby was 20 minutes (single rider). That’s about the upper limit for me, but I figured it might be a bit shorter than that, so I went ahead and got in line. I got a few final pictures of the old queue.
It wasn’t a 20-minute wait. It was a 35-minute wait. And to top it off, the brakes kept randomly slamming on throughout the ride, which caused my seatbelt to lock, and then I was effectively pinned to my seat for the duration of the ride. In case you couldn’t tell from that description, it wasn’t much fun. When I was done, I was like “Good riddance!” Test Track was never a favorite of mine (because a glitchy ride is much more common that a proper, correct ride), so it can only get better if you ask me.
It was a beautiful sunny day, but that made a lot of the topiaries hard to photograph. Either there was a huge glare from the sun or they were half in shadow. I took pictures of the ones I could.
I started at the Pixie Hollow Garden (with new Winter Fairy whose name I’ve already forgotten).
She wasn't staring at me like that. It was more like this...
And honestly, I only exaggerate a little. She was creeee-peeee!
Thanks for this.....hate that little girl, too creee-peeee for my tastes. Although, I have found the male real life version of this monstrosity.....
My Grandmother thinks she is dating him.....name is Buddy. He looks almost exactly like this and almost died at a Cousin's graduation party. Yeah, if he went into the light.....I would run the other way!
I’d heard about the Fantasia topiary at the entrance, and staying at an Epcot resort I always entered the park through the IG, so I made a special trip up front to check them out. I saw a giant peacock on the way there!
It was totally worth the trip. This was really terrific!
Spaceship Earth had a long line because it was early in the day. I never made it back when the line would’ve been shorter, so I’ll have to make it a priority for my next trip. I was kind of thirsty, so I had a stop in Club Cool. I like to hang around and wait for some kid to “trick” me into trying Beverly. Then I burst the kid’s bubble and pretend I like it. Good times.
I didn’t really have anything on the “must do” list, so I just found myself wandering around, enjoying the flowers. I also did a little window shopping (with the limited room in my suitcase, not much buying).
I thought American Gothic Mickey didn’t really go with Minnie
Someone was missing in topiary form. The sand sculpture was so detailed, I loved it! Again, it was hard to photograph because of the bright sun.
I began my circuit of WS in Mexico. I rode the GFT. The song gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day, but I actually like it, so it’s ok. I got some pics in Norway.
I spent a little time in the China pavilion. I really loved that the dragon was back. Those creepy zodiac topiaries just didn’t work for me.
The eyes on that panda are kind of “off”
I decided to watch the movie. It was just about to start as I got inside. Perfect timing. After the show, more strolling. The miniature village in Germany was celebrating their own (stinkin’ adorable) F&GF. It appeared to be Pixar themed.
There were Toy Story topiaries in the U.S.A. pavilion. Buzz and Woody looked great, but I couldn’t get a photo of them without awful glare. I got a terrific picture of what ended up being my favorite topiary.
So huggable!
I was impressed with the detail on Woody and Buzz. Woody even had a pull string (which I was able to photograph ).
I stopped in Japan to get a kaki gori, and I enjoyed it while people watching. There seemed to be a lot of school groups. And I don’t think they were sports or band groups, rather senior-trip type groups. Not that there were ever any issues, just something I noticed. I guess you don’t always see a lot of older teens in the parks and they stood out a bit.
Japan had the Cars topiaries.
It was getting pretty warm, so I decided to head back to the BC for a bit of a pool break. I got some decent pics of a couple of princesses dancing with their princes.
It was especially difficult photographing the Pooh topiaries. I even tried using flash, without success.
Up Next: Another POTC attempt

Hurray! Another Princess Sharon TR!! But I'm only on page 3 so I better get to catching up. Can't wait to hear about Chefs De France. We are hoping to eat there in October!
Looks like a gorgeous day!
I want to go in the spring for F&GF! I don't think next year will happen, then Dylan starts school, so it may have to be a Spring Break trip - not sure about that either. So I'll just live through you for now.
That's a pretty long wait for your next trip! But I have a feeling you might be squeezing a quick trip in before then!
Do you know something I don't? DH wants to take the family to celebrate our son's 18th birthday next summer, so at least I'll have a shorter duration between THOSE two trips!
Beautiful topiaries! Love the photos! One day I will get there in the spring to see them all in person. I swear my mother would absolutely love all of those flowers. Until then, I must live vicariously through you. I tell you, though, reading your TR's is almost as good as being there in person! Almost...
