At first I wasn’t sure that I wanted to do another TR, not because I don’t like sharing my memories with you or getting to know you because those are the two things I like most about trip reports, but because I can tend to be a slack a** when it comes to these things. I mean I can’t hold a candle to Cheryl (chezp) and her trip writing skills. But after giving it much thought, and a few nudges from some passporter friends, I decided to take a tip from Nike and “just do it”.
This is a trip of many celebrations, and one of the most important celebrations of the trip is actually the whole reason we’re even going. A Disney Wedding! This trip has been in the works for a little over a year now, ever since Chad’s cousin got engaged to her boyfriend. See, Chad’s cousin Robyn is Hope’s godmother, and Hope was asked to be one of the flower girls in the wedding. Knowing full well that the wedding was going to be in Disney, I didn’t hesitate when I accepted the responsibility for Hope. Thus begins the first of many happy celebrations we will be enjoying when we visit.
We weren’t sure if we were going to go for just the days of the wedding or if we were going to extend it in some way, like a cruise or extra days at the resort, but really, when you give a Disney fanatic the opportunity to visit for a few days, doesn’t it always turn into a few more? After throwing options around we decided to make it a week’s vacation, after all, we had annual passes that were burning a hole in our pocket, and some DVC points that were collecting dust. We originally booked the trip for May 12th to the 19th, but after realizing that I didn’t want to be rushing around trying to get out of the room the morning after the wedding, we extended our trip by a day so that we could check out on the 20th instead.
After looking at our dates we then realized just how many more milestones and events we would be celebrating. Let’s give them a looksie shall we…Mother’s Day, my parent’s anniversary, Chad’s birthday and the most important milestone of them all, well at least to me it is, our little Hope’s 3rd birthday! That’s right…her 3rd birthday! I honestly can’t believe she’s going to be a 3 year old in a few weeks. I mean, turning 3 means so many things. Starting pre-school, no more getting in free anywhere and the big one for her, playing on the big playground at school.
I look at her and can’t believe how big she’s gotten and how old she acts. Sometimes I forget she’s just a little girl because she acts like a 30 year old so much, and even her teachers agree that she has a very adult personality, but then there are times I glance over and see the little baby that I used to cradle in my arms, and my heart smiles. There’s a book that I like to read to her before bed sometimes, and now she’s gotten to reciting the lines with me which I love. It’s called “I’ll Love You Forever”, and it goes something like this:
I’ll Love You Forever,
I’ll Like You for Always,
As Long as I’m Living,
My Baby You’ll Be.
And those words couldn’t be more true. Here’s a look back at our birthday girl over the past three years.
The Day She Was Born
Her 1st Birthday
Her 2nd Birthday
I can’t wait to celebrate her birthday at Disney, and we have a little something special planned for the big day, but I don’t want to give all my surprises away at once. So coming up next I’ll introduce you to our cast of characters, with a few new faces thrown in for good measure, along with our celebratory plans for the week.
Great intro Melissa! Even though I didn't "peer pressure" you into you writing this report, I am glad some peeps did. Your reports are so fun to read. And they sometimes remind me of things that have happened with me and my girl.
Even though my baby is 21, I still see that little girl I used to dance with in my arms every once in awhile. Just warms your heart.
When you get back Steph and I will be a week away from going on our Momma/Daughter trip! Can't believe its so close.
I noticed a new TR and then I was really excited when I saw that you were the one that started it! I can't believe Hope is turning 3! Sounds like you will be celebrating all week long, fun!
Melissa I am so happy you decided to write this report...I am so looking forward to hearing all of the plans and getting to read all about the festivities
I can't believe Hope is going to be three....time just goes by so fast, loved seeing the pictures.
Yay for peer pressure So glad you started a new TR! I love, love, love that Robert Munsch book! I give it as a gift at every baby shower because I think it's a book every mom needs

YAY! I love your PTR's and reading about all your adventures at Disney. I, too, am a slack a** when it comes to my TR...I really shouldn't be, but my DH steals the computer constantly during the times I COULD use the computer to play his RPG's.. lol I can't wait to read more about your trip and celebrations!!!!
I'm so glad you gave in to the peer pressure and decided to do another TR I really enjoyed your last one With so many things to celebrate it sounds like it will be a wonderful trip!
