Great candid shots! PP photog had DH and I kiss in front of the MK once. He just said "Face each other. Ok now closer, closer. .. a little closer, etc" When we kissed he said "NOPE! TOO CLOSE!" LOL. It was cute.
I don't like the sound of this flight! Not sure I want to read it because I will be getting on a plane in about a month.
I spent the whole morning reading your wonderful trip report! You take the greatest pictures.
I hope to take many more than I did on my last trip, we'll be going in December!
I am glad a day off from the parks had everyone in a better mood. Love the make your own treats, yours sounded delicious. I think you made a grat choice by cancelling the other ADRs and enjoying The Crystal Palace for your last day....love your good bye photos with Mickey.
SOunds like a great morning! LOVE the pic of you and Ted walking into magic kingdom. I love candid shots! Of course, the one of you guys kissing was super cute too.
Oh no, not looking forward to hearing about your flight! Okay, I am...I confess!
I love the candid shots too. Josh was so mortified when they took the kissing shot . I have the next update ready so you'll hear about the flight soon.

Absolutely!!! Crystal Palace is our favorite breakfast on property (to date -we haven't tried them all). We all really love the food, the character interaction is pretty good, and I getting into the MK before it opens.

Tracy -I love to fly! Do NOT worry about your flight . The "excitement" is probably a little bit different than you are expecting.

I can't believe it is almost over . It was interesting re-living this trip by writing a trip report -a first for me. I think I might be hooked on the TR writing thing .

I take my fair share of bad pictures. I have discovered that the key is quantity. The more I take, the more likely I am to have something decent . Hope you get to take a bunch on your next trip. There should be so many things to get photos of in December with all the holiday decorations up.

I always try to schedule an early morning CP breakfast . I didn't book one for our trip in a week and a half and when Josh found out, he was shocked and dismayed! He wanted me to go right on line and book one! CP or Chef Mickeys for breakfast . Sure, two weeks out....no problem . Of course there was nothing available at either of those restaurants. I did manage one at Cape May.

An early morning breakfast at CP has become a tradition . It was a good call.

You and Ted should have 'tackled' Josh to get that smoochy pic! Now that would have been funny
Your flight home sounds interesting....??
I hope you love the CP breakfast as much as we do.
Josh would have killed us if we had done that I have to plead with him to get the pictures taken in the first place
Checking out, an afternoon around the pool, and a more-interesting-than-I-wanted flight home.
As we left the Magic Kingdom, most of the rope drop crowd had made their way down Main Street but we still seemed like salmon swimming upstream as we weaved our way through the “just missed RD” people making their way to the entrance from the bus stops. There was only one family with us on the bus back to AKL: a young couple with two young kids (three and not yet two I think). They had a stroller, two very large balloons and a diaper bag or backpack or two with them –an odd assortment of stuff to be leaving the MK with at 9:30 am. It turns out they were supposed to be going home today but they had had to extend their trip by a day because of a cancelled flight. They couldn’t get another night at BLT so they were moving to Kidani.
They looked exhausted, and it was clear that they were done. The little girl wanted to sit in the back of the bus on her own, and the dad let her head that way. Bu when the mom got on the bus, she said, “She can’t be back there by herself.” The dad retrieved her and moved her back to the front. Let’s just say that the little girl didn’t like that one bit . It was at this point that the dad turned to me and asked if we would like a couple more kids? They could probably give us money too if we wanted it, you know, to cover college costs and such . We struck up a conversation and it was then that I learned how they happened to be on this bus leaving the MK at 9:30 am with all that stuff. It was after this conversation that I mentioned that the balloons probably would be taken at bell services because of the animals. I figured that they would want to know so they could prepare the kids ahead of time. I was more than a little surprised at the Dad’s answer, “Good! I’ve been dragging these things through bushes for days, hoping they’ll pop!” I hope they had a relaxing day at Kidani. It was a nice reality check for me. As fun as WDW is, it isn’t perfect all the time. We all have our moments, and there is definitely a time to go home .
Upon returning to Jambo, we went back did a thorough double check of the villa to be sure that we had everything that we came with. We emptied the fridge and left the tip for Mousekeeping before heading to the lobby to check out. We sent the checked bags with RAC but we kept our carry-ons with us instead of leaving them with Bell Services as we planned to stay around the resort. We spent the rest of the afternoon chilling by the pool. A short rain shower sent us into the Mara briefly, but most of the time we spent lounging, swimming and napping with brief jaunts to the arcade for Josh. I posted this photo to Facebook and asked for reassurance that it wasn’t really snowing in Connecticut today, was it?
Our DME pick-up was at 5:30 and we had a quiet ride to the airport. We got through security without a hitch and headed to our gate. We grabbed some sandwiches for the plane at some little place in the airport. They had a lot of grab and go type stuff. I don’t remember the name of the place , and I kind of wish I did so I could pass it on. You’ll see why later in this update.
We had gotten through security rather quickly so we had a bit of a wait at our gate. We chatted with a family that had been cruising on the Fantasy. The little boy was showing Josh all of his Legos –a Star Wars set if I remember. The two of them had quite the interesting conversation about Legos for awhile.
Just as we were about to board, I saw my boss also lining up with the A group. I knew that she was going to be in Florida (her mother lives in Orlando). I did not know she was going to be on the same flight as us. I introduced her to Ted and Josh and I made sure that I introduced her as my boss before Ted made some sort of silly comment from the peanut gallery, such as “looks like we’ll be calling in sick tomorrow.” She protested that she really isn’t my boss per se (but she is….she’s the director of Special Education in my district) and we chatted briefly.
We had non-consecutive boarding numbers. Now, how does that happen? Especially since we booked all of our tickets together AND each of us had early bird check in. I had been told that we could board together with the lowest number so that’s what we did. We could have had the front row of seats but we would have had to put all of our carry on in the overhead bins. I decided that I would rather have easy access to our carry-on bags so we pick another row, maybe four rows back. Now I know this seems unimportant, but bear with me.
The pilot comes on the PA and welcomes us aboard. He then announces that the current temperature at Bradley Airport is 46 degrees (collective groan) and that the second half of our flight is going to be a bit rough, plan accordingly .
The beginning of the flight wasn’t rough, but a teenager two rows ahead of us got sick (I’m wondering if it was from the same bug that I had had earlier in the week). Unfortunately, he didn’t manage to get out an airsickness bag…..so it was everywhere; all over him and his seat area . The flight attendants did their best to try to clean everything up and they did have some spray that took care of most of the smell pretty quickly, but still.
Josh was oblivious to the situation ahead of us and we wanted to keep it that way . You know how the power of suggestion can work. We were worried that if Josh knew about the other boy getting sick, he might start not feeling well too. The last thing we wanted was a similar situation in our row .
Soon Josh starts to clamber that he is hungry . Well, it is pretty far past dinner time. I get out the sandwiches and hand his over. I’m debating whether or not I’m hungry (or willing to eat) but he digs right in. I hand Ted his sandwich and start to unwrap mine when Josh asks, “Mom, what is this thing here?’ He has already finished most of the first half of the sandwich and he picks off a small black spot from the side of the other half .
It is a fly. A dead fly.
It must have gotten caught up in the plastic wrap when they were wrapping the sandwich. Okay, decision made. I’m not so hungry anymore. Josh has already eaten the first half of his sandwich. I manage to convince him he should not eat the rest without getting too graphic in explaining why he shouldn’t eat it . The kid is starving and I hurry to hustle up something else to snack on that did NOT come from that sandwich place . I think I finally found him a granola bar or something.
At this point, Ted and I just got to giggling about the whole situation. Do you know the saying, “Don’t know whether to laugh or cry ?” Well our motto has always been it’s better to laugh.
We landed in a little early (thank goodness!!) We headed right to the rest rooms to change into pants from shorts. I also made sure I switched my flip flops out for socks and sneakers. It was a bit chilly in CT . We collected our luggage, headed to the garage to get our car, and made our way home. It was cold and rainy and we were very tired. We pulled into our driveway around midnight and Ted remarked that the lawn needed mowing. We spent a few quality minutes with the cat before hitting the pillow . The alarm would ring soon enough.
Sorry it's all over and the plane incident! It was cold that day, and quite a shock coming from toasty warm WDW! Looking forward to your final thoughts!
