Just signing in, great start! Love the pictures from memory lane, adorable
Sorry about the issues with your SIL, but I guess one good thing came out of it, you got to go to Disney!!
90 minutes on DME, that's just crazy. I would have been cranky too! Glad it worked out and you were able to score a first floor room.
Looking forward to more!

That DME ride sounds awful-- and after such a long day, too. I'm glad they were able to get the room changed to what you had asked for. I always used to ask for building 4 or 5 also. I absolutely LOVED the yearly photos of the kids! Time goes way too quickly. Your kids were and are beautiful!
I love your pictures of the kids-especially the one of teeny tiny Colin-too cute to be real.
I only have used DME once and must have had the same driver-he was too slow for words and although we didn't arrive quite as late as you, after a trip to the airport and a flight, I didn't need a leisurely ride to WDW.
Glad you got the room you wanted. I stayed in building 3 my only time at POFQ and wasn't crazy about the location.
What a long day and even longer DME ride. I know for later arrivals they tend to clump together a few resorts as there isn't as much traffic and it is more cost effective to have one bus take a whole bunch of passangers but I have oftened wondered what makes they do the order in which they do. I think one time when we came in late we must have hit resorts in every area with the driver zig zagging back and forth to each area....can you guess we were the last stop.
Sounds like a promising start to the day with a great safari....hoping the thrill ride meltdown did not last too long and did not ruin the day.
Your pictures bring back a lot of memories, as I joined the Passporter Boards when they were small and remember reading your TRs!
I would have been cranky too after 90 minutes on DME... that's way too long! Lately, when we arrive after 9 p.m., we've been spending our first night at the MCO Hyatt. I have to say it's been wonderful crawling right into bed, and then we're up bright, early and energetic for our first day.
Looking forward to hearing about your day at AK. Over the past few years we've spent our first day there, too!
Timing out of the free wifi, 90 minutes on the DME AND you didn't get the room you wanted? What crap way to start the vacation! However, being able to change to a suitable room probably made up for all of that.
Gosh, I remember when the kids were that small, and I can't believe it's been 4 years since you were last there! Time sure does go too fast.
Love all the family photos! Thanks for sharing them.
Sorry about the long DME trip -90 minutes, yikes!! That's almost as long as the plane ride takes from BDL to MCO. I would have been cranky too after all of that.
So glad that you got a good CM and you were able to get a more suitable room.
Funny, we often go to AK as our first park, too. It just sort of works out that way for us. Can't wait to hear about the great safari, and I hope the thrill ride meltdown was nothing too serious.
