Hello and I think I am going to try my hand at this PTR thing again. Hopefully this one will actually lead into a TR. No promises though. I’ll just go ahead and put that little disclaimer in now. I sure know I never did one for last year’s PTR. We leave in a little over 20 days so I thought I’d kick this thing into high gear and get started.
As the title suggests this trip has only two traveling buddies: Just Me, Shelley (41) – Your travel guide as we navigate our way through the ramblings of me pea brain. I have always had a love for Disney but it wasn’t until I took my DD, Stephanie, to WDW for her HS graduation in June 2009 that I got bit by that silly Disney bug. I think it was partly due to not having been to a Disney park in 7 years and partly due to this AWESOME community I joined the month before we left. Being a newbie here, Steph and I were very fortunate to have met so many WONDERFUL Passporters on our trip. Everyone made us feel welcome even though we had only just met. This will be my 5th trip to WDW since that trip 3 years ago. Yeah, I think that bug bit me pretty hard!
And My Girl, DD, Stephanie (21) – Stephanie hasn’t been bitten as hard as I have but she still loves Disney and plans on going to WDW more often once she graduates from college in about a year. We already have a plan in the works to go during the F&WF in October 2013 to celebrate her graduation. This will be Steph’s 3rd trip to WDW. Her two prior trips were once when she was 6 years old and then again when she was 18. Yep, a whole 12 years later. Poor thing! She did, however, go on a trip to Disneyland when she was 11 so it wasn’t total Disney neglect for those 12 years!

When are y’all going you might ask? Well, maybe you wouldn’t ask since I put dates in the title. Duh! BUT ~ those are just the dates we will be in WDW. We are driving our happy, selves there so our trip really begins on Monday, May 28th and ends on Sunday, June 3rd. See, there was a little more than just what was in the title. I actually looked into airfare for a change since this trip is going to be so short but airfare was a lttle over $300.00 more than driving. That’s $300 I can spend at my happy place instead on getting there and back! For me, it’s a good trade off and the drive isn’t all that bad. There is some pretty scenery along I-10 and the coastline is a short drive if we want to detour a bit. Plus, I love having my car at the World. I, for one, am not a big fan of the bus system at WDW. It’s been ok sometimes but after being at the parks in the warm FL sun and then cramming everyone in like sardines - no, not my cup of tea. And they really, really remind me of our public bus system at home. Not what a want to think about when I am at Disney.
Ok, I think I have rambled on enough for today. If you decide to come back, I promise to tell you things that aren’t covered in the title.
Yay! You're doing a PTR! I agree with Kelly that in those through-the-years photos you haven't changed a bit! I remember that when I met you two in 2009 I thought at first you were sisters!
What a wonderful start! I have started a TR and then never finished! I think it was the disney blues! I love driving to WDW and my drive is at least 24 hours!

Yay! So glad you decided to do this! And I swear you haven't aged at all!
I know, I debated it but I really wanted to get some practice in for the cruise PTR/TR! It has been a year since that last PTR so I had to remember how to post pics, etc... And thank you about the not aging thing. I sure wish my body felt like it hasn't aged!

Aww Laurie how sweet, thank you! Steph and I do sometimes get mixed up for sisters. I love it but I think it kinda emabarasses Steph.

Thanks Sammi!! I think the Disney blues played a part in my reason for not doing my TR but there definitely were other life factors. Things are much better now so I thought I'd give it another go.
