Saturday June 23 – Day before travel
After slaving around the house for the entire week , I went to Walmart with AJ for some last minute shopping , leaving Arben back home to finish what was left (which was almost nothing). When I arrived home, I kept packing our suitcases. There was no cooking today, so my mil was kind enough to cook for us. Sooner than I wanted, it was time to start getting ready for church. After church, we went to my parent’s house to say our goodbyes to them, my sister and bil. As I had mentioned in my PTR, my dad gave me $100 to spend at Disney. He always does this to my sister and me before a trip. Even if we’re all grown up, we’re still his little girls.
We got home at around 10:00 pm, where I continued to pack. Meanwhile, Arben was just laying around doing nothing (this would become a recurring theme throughout the trip ). Anyways, after arguing with him for awhile (mainly, me arguing and him pretending to sleep ), I gave up and did everything myself. I finished at about 1:00 am, set the alarm for 7:30 am and quickly hopped into bed. Sleep didn’t come easily to me , I think I finally fell asleep at around 3:00.
I had set the alarm for 7:30 am, but I woke up at 7:00. I had gotten like 4 hours of sleep, but I didn’t feel tired and was ready to go. I hopped in the shower, so happy that the day had finally arrived. After my revitalizing shower, I started waking up the rest of the gang. As they did their morning routine, I started getting ready, mainly fixing my hair. After beautifying myself and getting dressed, I checked the house. At this time the boys had finished dressing and having breakfast. No breakfast for me today, just a little coffee , as my stomach was a bit nervous. Arben loaded the SUV, while I closed up the house. After making sure we hadn’t forgotten anything (there’s always that nagging feeling ), we went next door to my mil’s house to say goodbye. Both, mil and fil were teary eyed . I can’t imagine if we decide to move away. We then headed on over to my parent’s house, as my mom would be taking us to the airport. While there I received “The Lecture” from my dad. You know how it goes: take care of the kids, never let them out of your sight, look after them at the pool, etc . Parents never stop parenting.
Anyways, we left their house at 9:30 because we wanted to go to Walgreens. I had some last minute shopping to do and Arben had some last minute supervising to do. After all, he’d be away from the store for 2 weeks and he wanted to make sure everyone knew what they had to do. I bought some sunscreen, a magazine and a new 8 gb memory card. The airport is close by so we arrived there at 10:15. I forgot to mention that I love my small airport! It’s 30 minutes away from my house and not many flights go out so it’s not very busy. There was absolutely no line at check-in . While waiting for our boarding passes, I realized I had a gum stuck on my new flip-flop . I wonder why people feel the need to throw gum on the floor instead of in a trash can. So annoying! Ok, rant over.
I went into the bathroom to try to get that darn gum off my flip-flop while at the same time standing on just one foot. And guess what happened next. Yes, I lost my balance and had to put my bare foot on the floor. I’m very picky about bathrooms, especially public ones. I was mortified! I quickly washed my foot, put a piece of paper on the floor and stood on it. I did the best I could with the flip-flop and exited the bathroom. I found the gang sitting on some seats. We relaxed for awhile and I called my sister to say our final goodbyes. The kids wanted some snacks, so Arben took them to the cafeteria. They came back with chips and drinks for each one of them. After downing their drinks, it was time to head to security. We said goodbye to mom and went to the line. I had already prepped the kids on this. Each one was responsible for their own things. Everthing went easy breazy and we were soon sitting at our gate.
Abniel, AJ and Adrel (Don't be fooled by their innocent looks. Those 2 little ones can be deceiving.)
Arben and I
We sat at the gate for some time, all the while Adriel jumped all over the place and went to the bathroom like 100 times . At 12:00 we started boarding. The plane took off at 12:30. I sat with AJ and Adriel while Arben sat with Abniel.
My flying buddies!
The flight was uneventful, only a little turbulence as we were descending. I watched Journey 2 until I had to change seats with AJ beacuse his tv wasn’t working. We landed in “sunny” Orlando at 3:05.
Next up... Guess who decided to visit Florida too?

Great start! I can't wait to hear about how you enjoy your first on-site stay! The boys look so ready for the trip...and so do you!
Yuck about the gum...that always seems to happen to me too, but only with new shoes. If I can manage to not get gum on new shoes the first time or two that I wear them, then I'm usually ok! I think gum just likes new shoes!

Great start, well except for the gum and then losing your balance in the bathroom, yuck! Glad the flight was pretty uneventful, looking forward to more!
