Hi, it’s Two4Disney Wow! It’s been so long since we’ve posted a trip report here. I’m so nervous, I think I have page fright.
Anyway, the last time we posted a trip report was probably in the Disneyland Trip Reports section when we were living in Las Vegas. Rich’s job brought us back to the Orlando area last November, and because this isn't the first time we've lived in Orlando, we’ve only been enjoying an occasional day trip to the parks/resorts. But this will be our first on-site stay since we've been back.
To give a little back story here, I grew up 8 miles from Disneyland and what better way to celebrate my birthday than get to visit my hometown and experience the new Cars Land? We’d watched the progress of the DCA rehab on our many trips to DL from Las Vegas and were looking forward to seeing the completion.
So, we booked everything - plane tickets to fly to LAX, ressies at the Disneyland Hotel, and had upgraded our WDW AP (once again) to a Premier (hooked on being "Disney bi-coastal").
But when Rich landed in the hospital, he used his vacation days for the hospital stay and recovery period. And so we had to cancel the Disneyland trip. So thankful for his recovery but disappointed about the trip, I told myself this:
Disneyland will be crazy busy in the month of July anyway, especially with the opening of Cars Land.
We can always rebook it before the Premier pass expires.
We can stay at WDW without using any vacation - not a bad consolation prize, eh?
But can WDW save the birthday?
So, the plan is that any minute now I’ll start packing, Rich will work a half day, the pet sitter will take over caring for the kitties and the house, and then we’ll drive the 45 minutes or so to Wilderness Lodge. The main focus will be the Magic Kingdom, Artist Point, Boma, the pool, and some relaxation.
I hope that you guys have a magical time at the world
