Okay-I got a little excited. After looking things over and doing very simple math, I realize that I DIDN'T have any extra reservations, DRAT! Oh well, everyone is HAPPY with my choices, now I just have to keep from playing with them too much.
Little fear of that now with the announcement of FL opening! YEA! Hope I can snag a ressie for the 10th! If not, I will stand in line to eat counter service there!
Now I have to start looking at how to make this "pre-Christmas" trip a LOT of fun! Gotta trap that DIL into our favorite activity. In the past, we always take an evening , give everyone $25.00 and have a contest for stocking stuffers. There are always rules. Every year is different. I'd like to do the same at Disney--maybe DTD and then all the trickets are shipped back to the house for opening at our Christmas celebration. BUT, I don't want to squander our time there. Got any ideas?
I wouldn't worry too much about converting DIL get her there and let the Bubble work its Magic on her If your son is WDW fanatic she won't be far behind
Love the idea for stocking stuffers
Well, unless there is a real miracle between now and December, we will be eating counter service at Be Our Guest. I was up at 5am for work and ready with the phone at 6:59--I dialed and got--Not open. Hung up and dialed again--it was busy--all morning. I finally decided I'd call DVC--too late to get a reservation. But I learned--that's why I have DVC--they can make these reservations for me--when I can get them. I may try when the website comes up tomorrow morning, but the CM's have said that ALL the December reservations are gone. Sigh!
So to keep the positive vibes going, I checked on our airline reservations. I'm keeping track of five people on three reservations with two airlines and two departure cities. I learned from this summer that DS WON'T keep track of his stuff and DIL isn't comfortable tracking these things either. So, I checked all the reservations at both airlines and fortunately, there are no more major changes to the itineraries. So the day was not a total loss. We didn't "lose" any ressies. On to the next...
My son called yesterday. He was let go. No job! Details aren't important here, other than to say it was "shady" at best. Anyway, their participation in the trip is now "up in the air.".
We have several decisions to make. It's been an expensive travel year and we were going to pick up room and tickets. Now it looks like we will also need to pick up the dining plan as well. Ouch! We have Tables in Wonderland which if we were always eating together would be a better deal by far, but the kids don't always want to eat with mom. (Go figure those newlyweds!). So we don't know which way to go. It's too early to say anything about it, as he was just let go yesterday. The one good thing about it is he was given a ticket to the developer's conference where he can "press the flesh" as he said. I pray he finds something quickly. Now is not the time to be out of a job.
One week in and though he's been pounding the pavement, no luck yet, but several "hooks" in the water. The good news is the unemployment rate among computer programmers in Omaha is 1.2% according to DS. SO--continued prayers.
On the "bright" side of life, DS and DIL got notice that their plane ressies had been changed AGAIN! This time, their departure was returned to the original times, so they will be in by 8:30pm. I think I will get a bottle of wine and we'll "hot tub" it that night! YEA! A little Disney magic! Right now, I'm greedily needing (wanting) more!
