Great time at Epcot, except for the rides that were down. Wonder why so many problems while you all were there?
I don't know but there was at least one at every park (some were were able to go back another day and do and others it was down on second day and other problem the first day(i.e. Kali Rivers too cold first day, 2nd day, shut down unforeseen problem) I guess it is better to have it down that to be on it and break down. I might seriously panic then!!!
Now we are back from our Thanksgiving trip, I'll add another TR update.
Oct. 25th MNSSHP
It was now later than I intended to leave Epcot. The best laid plans… sometimes just doesn’t work out. So much to do, so little time!! We had a short rest period back at the resort. Jeremy was decked out as Jack Skellington and I was the 103 Dalmatian (didn’t want to take any 102’s place!!) It was finally here: Our FIRST MNSSHP EVER!!! It did rain on us as we arrived but quit before we got to Casey’s for hot dogs. These are the biggest chili dogs I have ever seen!! It was crowded. A parade went by while we were eating.
The first thing Jeremy wanted to do was ride HM, so off we go and ended up riding it twice with a 10-15 wait time. Moving walkways at full speed were a problem but slowed down was fine. Next we did Mickey’s PhilharMagic(if I remember correctly). Any wait time was for the show to let out. Jeremy climbed the Swiss Family treehouse.(no camera, of course).
One special event was meeting up with Kim(jendahl12) and Jennifer(eeyore) that night. Believe it or not, we were able to find each other, among all those people. Of course there were lots of texts going back and forth. Kim, her husband(sorry I can’t remember his name), Wayne, Jeremy and I visited for awhile close to the castle/hub. We made arrangements to meet in front of Town Hall to watch the second Boo to You parade together.
The funniest thing happened Kim and her husband had just gotten to us when this person walks by dressed like Captain Jack Sparrow and does a perfect Jack hand wave. I’m thinking he is a perfect likeness and could get a job here. Imagine my surprise when I saw him on the Pirates float during the parade and realized he was the same guy!!! Wish I had asked for his picture and autograph earlier My pirate float picture didn’t come out very good.
Off we headed to see if we could do POTC but alas the line was too long so we did the Enchanted Tiki Room. We were close to the Hub area when HalloWishes came. Better than any other fireworks in my opinion. My camera acted up so I only got a couple of pictures of the fireworks until I ran to the Emporium for batteries(at least had a working camera for the parade).
Time for the second Boo-To-You parade, so we head to Town Hall where we meet up with Kim and her husband and find out they have a special area for scooters to sit and watch. Right across from where it ends and close to the park exit. The parade was fun but sharing it with Passporter friends made it even better. We did see Kim and her husband a couple of other days. After the long day, we decided to leave right after the parade. We LOVE Mickey’s Halloween Party!!!!!!! And want to go again!!

I am not a person who likes to be in large crowd activities but the party was so much fun. I loved watching how people went out to dress up.

Today was the only day that I felt rushed and behind. I knew tomorrow (Oct 26th) would be a go slow day for us. It is so hard to know how to pace your time especially when there is SO much to do.

The whole trip was so much fun. It was the vacation we needed.
We are hooked and will have to go back to do MNSSHP again. I would like to do MVMCP sometime as well. Here is the next installment.
Oct. 26th Sleep In and Hollywood, Here We Come
Late night so we slept in until we felt like getting up. We decided not to hurry to the park but arrived around 10 AM. (if I remember correctly). Our first attraction was to see if we could do Star Tours II. I wanted to go on this to see the new setup so I took a non-drowsy Dramamine as well as put on Sea Bands. There was a wait(FP was our lunch time) so we decided to go to Indiana Jones and come back Star Tours after lunch. Lunch was at Mama Melrose’s and we were doing the Fantasmic package which includes an appetizer. Jeremy was brave and tried the mussels—after about 4-5, he decided he didn’t care for them. I give him lots of credit for even trying them!!! I went out of my comfort zone to try the wood-grilled tuna. I liked it except I want it cooked more. The waitress suggested it to be better med/well and said to tell her if I wanted it cooked more. I didn’t have her send it back but I will know the next time to ask for it well. Okay, lunch is over and we are off to Star ToursII. A 10 minute wait(how fast can I get in line????) Probably faster than you could say rebel alliance!! Remember (in Arrival report) I mentioned about the scooter calling it a landspeeder. This is how it came to be: You and your party actually are taken a back way where you wait until everyone exits and you go in. When it came time for me to park, a cast member instructed me where to park my landspeeder. I liked that idea so we called it that the rest of the time. the new Star Tours!! We came out and went right back on it(just Jeremy and I) again. We’re just about ready for takeoff when we get stop and told they are looking for a Rebel spy, they show the picture and who is but Jeremy!!!!!(and his dad wasn’t on to see it!) so mom(makes a mom proud to have a Rebel spy!) had to buy him the shirt which says, “ I AM the Rebel Spy “. He was given a pin saying he was celebrating being the Rebel Spy. No drowsiness or motion sickness!!!! We were seated up front each time. We rode it a 3rd time later on in the day. We did Muppets 3D, One Man’s Dream, Great Movie Ride but didn’t try to Toy Story since we arrived so late and so crowded. I can’t remember why we didn’t make the last showing for Lights, Motor, Action. We want to see LMA so we think we may park hop one day or come after mini golf on Oct. 31st. By afternoon, it was turning out to be windy. Hurricane Sandy was making herself known at this point. A break for supper was at Backlot Express where we had a good view with seating for the Padawan Adventure. He did admit he wished he could do the Pawadan Adventure. We have lots of pictures of Darth Vader from that. It was a quick service and I don’t remember what we ordered except I got a fruit parfait which I liked. Fantasmic ended up being cancelled we think due to the high winds. Still haven’t seen it yet!! At this point we had done all we wanted or could do so back to the Poly. Now do I keep you waiting as to when(and if) we come back to DHS or go ahead and tell you? More on that when we get to Oct. 31st. UP NEXT: Oct. 27th Animals and Dinosaurs
Glad you really enjoyed the new Star Tours! Cool that your DS was the Rebel Spy, too.
What makes this so funny is our first time I totally missed who was the Rebel spy and when we got to the end of the ride, I commented to Jeremy, I wonder who was the spy? He tells me it was up on the screen to the side(I was watching the front screen where they show a picture). So the second time I make sure I watch the side screen and that is when his picture showed up.
