I always feel, when starting my WDW trip reports, that they’re going to be a dead bore for others to read—I do pretty much the same things on every trip, and if you’re not crazy about animals, there’s not much of interest. I persevere, though, because others seem to like to read them and also because I like to write them and have the record of my trips.
I’m Laurie, mid 60’s, retired. My first trip was in 1989, and I was instantly hooked. I joined DVC as soon as BWV points went on sale. When I first started going to WDW I was physically able, but for about 10 years have needed a mobility scooter to get around. I love all the parks, but spend most of my time at Animal Kingdom. Every morning, I go there and board the first train to Rafiki’s to watch the veterinary procedures at Conservation Station. The CMs there have become my friends over the years and several of them will feature in this report. In the afternoons I go to the other parks, with most of my time at Epcot.
Every trip I seem to add on a day or two and this one is now 17-days long! I’m staying at BWV, with my last 3 nights at BLT.
I usually travel solo and have gotten very spoiled, doing what I want to do, eating what I want to eat! For this trip I’ve made a few ADR’s (Flying Fish, Brown Derby, Tutto Italia, Sanaa, California Grill), but will mostly just trust to luck or make reservations daily. The biggest perk on this trip is that so many PassPorters will be around and I hope to meet many of you!
17 Days! Wow! You are going to have so much to tell us! You know I love all the stories and adventures you share from your AK visits. In fact, I've learned so much from you that AK just becomes more special every trip. I have friends who think it's funny that AK is my favorite park, but then they are never around when I get all excited about animals.
We'll be crossing paths. My solo trip is set for 12/8 - 12/13. This is my first solo trip and I'm looking forward to alot of "me" time!! I think I'll be meeting you on 12/11 at MVMCP.
Laurie !
I think this will be the first WDW trip of yours that I've read. I've a read cruises & ABD tour . 17 days sounds fabulous. I hope to see you at |MVMCP.
Wow, 17 days. One day that will be me.
Can't wait for all the animal info. Both my girls want to be vets and work ag AK. Maybe it will happen.
Have a safe trip.
Oh my, so jealous of your length of time at the world and so sorry we were there too early to see you! But, I will be traveling along with you when you do the TR and if you do some "love" reports!
I'm really looking forward to it. And the animal love is all good.
You'll get lots of animal love, that's for sure.

If I can add to anyone's enjoyment of AK I'm thrilled! I do feel a little sheepish about the length of this vacation. With an annual pass and enough DVC points, I couldn't see any reason not to stay longer!

That's great, Regina! That'll be a fun night.

Thanks for reading, Roberta. I was excited when I saw you'd be at the party that night!

Worthy goals for your girls! I can't think of a better place to work.

One of these days, Barb, we'll be there at the same time! I'm going to try to do this trip as a live blog and should be posting every day.
Oh I love your TR's! I so look forward to enjoying your trip along with you! At one point I will fall behind while I am away, but when I come back it will be so fun to catch up on many updates at once!
One day our paths will cross at WDW (or in Boston!) and I look forward to it! Until then, I'll live vicariously through your TR's!!!
17 days - very cool! Mind you, I think this trip, we beat you just slightly...
I love reading your trip reports and as soon as I knew we'd be there at the same time, I knew what I wanted to do with you - spend time with you in Animal Kingdom seeing some of those animal operations, as that's the bit I love reading about.
You also forgot a couple of ADRs I made for us - Yak and Yeti and 'Ohana from memory...
