November 16th 2012/Day #2
Today we woke up still excited about the Christmas party we went to last night. I just am amazed at the way Disney will infuse magic into your soul. Everything from the music, to the way they made it snow on Main Street. Just remarkable. That said.....it was time to start out on a new day and more Disney memories in the making. Today was Animal Kingdom, Cheyenne loves AK!


We made it to the park for opening and headed straight for the Safari. We both love this. It seems like the earlier you go in the morning the more playful and energetic the animals are. We had some pretty good views of most of the animals except the Lions which were being lazy and napping already! From there we went to breakfast at Tusker House. This was a new one for us and we were very impressed! Before going in we had our pic taken with Donald. The first thing they do is come around with some "jungle juice", we both thought it was sooooo yummy! It is orange, guava and passion fruit combined together. While it might not sound the best it is awesome! I think they refilled our glasses 3 times!

From there we strolled through some of the walking trails in the back of the park and headed over to Expedition Everest. I can do this ride ONCE! I am good with it all except going backwards! I told Chey that ahead of time, just so there would be no misunderstandings. While in line we met a very nice couple from Australia. She was so scared and kept asking us questions. He asked us not to ruin the "surprise" for her so we skipped telling her about the Yeti and the broken tracks! They were seated right in front of us for the ride so we could see her reactions. From what I could hear over my screaming, she seemed to like the ride. It was a good ride and nice to ride with a newbie. As we were unbuckling to get out Cheyenne was already pleading to go again!

Then we went over to the Dinosaur ride. It was fun, we both screamed like girls. I don't care how many times you ride this ride you will always jump when that long necked beast jumps out of that dark alcove at you!!

We ran into Russell and Dug from 'UP'. That was a cool find! I didn't know they were in the park!

We hit a few of the smaller rides and walked around the Tree of Life. Just a beautiful park. Then we decided it was snack time. We both wanted an "elephant ear", so we asked around and people looked at us like we were crazy. Finally we explained them to someone and they said they were called "waffle cakes". Who knew? In Michigan we refer to them as elephant ears. Oh well. We got our waffle cakes and strolled around the character trail over by the Lion King show. They were all dressed in their holiday garb and this area contained some of the most wonderfully themed Christmas trees I have ever seen!

An early day back to the resort for us. AK is an early closer so that gave us time to go to AOA and look around. Cheyenne loves the Lion King theme so we stopped for lots of pics. I noted that the pools and hotel buildings were not locked as they had been when it first opened. Not sure if that was just a freak thing or if they have become lax with it.
Today in our room we found the neatest little "towel basket".

We had a nice dinner back at POP. We wanted to do something with the evening but weren't sure what. It was a toss up between Downtown Disney and the movie by the pool. We decided to do the movie by the pool. And I am glad we did........you will be shocked at what was showing!! CINDERELLA!!!! So Brent.....it wasn't a Cinderella free day after all!

No such thing as a Cinderella free day around me anyway. Sounds like a good 'rest up' day. Can't wait for more Cindi stories though!

Sounds like a great day! I am undecided about how I like interior doors at AoA. It makes the outside look so deserted somehow to me. Hmmm...

Love the towel basket though, wicked cute!

I love TH! It's a family fave here and our top fave breakfast. I will be going to it myself on Thursday! WHOO HOO!!!

That "waffle cake" looks a whole lot like the funnel cakes they sell at MK and Epcot. I wonder if it's the same thing.
