Well hello there friends! I'm going to attempt to write (and keep up with) a PTR for our upcoming Disney adventure. I've tried unsuccessfully in the past and of course life always gets in the way. But here I am giving it one more go....let's see where this adventure takes us!
First things First: The Family!
Disney Mom (Jaime): That's me! My first trip to Disney was my senior trip and I instantly fell in love with the atmosphere. Where else can I go and be a kid WITH my kids?! I now have 10 trips under my belt and plan on many more!
Disney Dad (Roger): 10 years together and I love this man more and more . He keeps me laughing and puts up with my Disney addiction. This will be his 6th trip and don't let him fool you, he enjoys going.
Disney Son (Chance): This is my 12 year old step son and truly a step momma's boy. He lives with his father and me full time and he makes life interesting for sure! This will be his 4th trip and his favorite thing about Disney World is Pin Trading.
Disney Daughter (Cheyanne): This is my soon to be 14 year old step daughter and she is the biggest fan of Nightmare Before Christmas. She also lives with her father and me full time. This will be her 4th trip and her favorite thing about Disney World are the parades.
Next: Why, Where, & When
Why:
2013 is quite a year for us! Cheyanne will be starting high school, I will be finishing up my MBA, I will be turning 30, and this will be mine and my husband's 10 year anniversary! We are going to celebrate Disney Style!
Where & When:
I started planning this trip in December. After some back and forth planning with our travel agent, we finally settled POR- Riverside with the dates of September 28th - October 5th. Deposit put down and we are ready....or so we think.
A snag in our planning!
This week we got a letter from our school district in regards to the change attendance policy for the kid's school! BUMMER! But no need to fret on that, we can move our dates! So we finally got our new dates figured out, June 8th through June 15th, but we had to move resorts We were really wanting to try out POR-Riverside, but now we are staying at CSR which is my hubby's favorite! So it all worked out
We will be her the 14-21. POR is a beautiful resort. We loved it on our trip in 2010. Can't wait to hear more of your planning. You never know we may run into each other

Maybe so! I'd love to meet some fellow PPers!

So just a little update: So we are now booked and paid in full!
Every time we have gone to Disney we've done things a little differently each time. We've stayed offsite before and used the military appreciation tickets, we've stay onsite with a dining plan( (we've tried QSP, DDP, and DxDP), and we've stayed onsite without a dining plan so I've been able to get a feel for how to budget and what steps to take in terms of dining.
For this trip we opted for the Regular Dining Plan. So since we had 100 days until our trip I needed to make dining plans ASAP!
Now, when it comes to dining I have so pretty picky eaters and of course they would never admit to it. I tried consulting with my husband about which places he would like to try and his response, "Just book whatever you think I'll like". Oh my word! No help at all! Why not just ask the kids?! Well, I haven't exactly told them we have moved the dates yet. Their last day of school is June 7th, so I am planning on waking them up early on June 8th (our departure date) and getting them into the car and telling them while we are on our way. Now this will be a task because I have a 12 and a 14 year old who are smarter than the average bear. But we will get back to that!
So after a lot of reading and drooling over food I finally made plans for:
Day 1 (arrival day) - Quick Dinner at Resort
Day 2 - Dinner at Yak & Yeti
Day 3 - Dinner at The Plaza Restaurant
Day 4 - Dinner at Coral Reef
Day 5 - Dinner at Sci-Fi Dine In
Day 6 - Dinner at Le Cellier
Day 7 - Dinner at The Garden Grill
Day 8 (last day) - Breakfast at Kona Cafe
We are trying to be adventours this time and not eat at our "regular" places such as Prime Time Cafe, The Crystal Palace, and Liberty Tree Tavern. During our family trip in 2009 we tried Le Cellier and everyone loved it, so why not go back?! My husband and I took an adults only trip in 2010 and tried Coral Reef, The Garden Grill, and Kona Cafe, so these will be new to the kids. Yaki & Yeti, Sci-Fi Dine In, and The Plaza Restaurant are all new to us!
We will have 7 quick service meals that we will use for early lunches but I'm sure we will have a good time trying to figure out where to use those!
And our snack credits, well all mine will go to either Kringla or the updated bakery in France. I'm sure my kids will get mickey bars or waters. And the hubs will probably just get root beer floats!
Next time: Planning on this being our last Disney trip for awhile...
