| The Glasmann\'s do Disney again The Cast: Beth (31) Ron (32) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day 1 4:45 am the alarm goes off. Barely awake we hurry and get ready. We load up the van and off we go. We make it to the airport a little early and without any problems. (no wonder, who else is up at that hour, lol??) We flew Delta this time and had no problems at all. We enjoyed having assigned seats, got to eat breakfast while waiting in the morning and at TGIFridays during our layover. We arrive in Orlando, grab our luggage and head for the Alamo bus. I was in and out of there in under 5 minutes, literally. The Blazer had a broken glove compartment so they had us just leave it where I had parked it and gave me a different one, this time an Isuzu Trooper. Even with switching cars we were there for less than 15 minutes. The bus ride is only 10 so the whole rental car process took less than a 1/2 hour from start to finish. We start to relax and get into vacation mode! We make it to the Yacht Club around 3:30pm without any problems. (Except for Ron dozing off while heÕs supposed to be watching signs for me, LOL.) As we drive up we think... hmmm, it looks like home. (We live in New England) We valet park and I go ahead to check us in while Ron has the bell hop check our luggage. The lobby is nice. I donÕt think itÕs stuffy, Ron doesnÕt think itÕs formal. We enjoy a nautical theme and thought the lobby was very nice. Dreu loves the ship wheel and big globe. I check in and IÕve received all my requests, YIPPEE! I had made requests on my reservations and then faxed them in. I have 2 reservations so asked not to have to switch rooms (ressies are for same room type), non-smoking and a direct lake view. The CM was very nice! Our room wasnÕt ready though so we had time to kill. I had guest services make our Fantasmic ressies for us, again the CMÕs were extremely nice! We decide to check out the pool and get a milk shake. The pool is very large, actually itÕs several separate pools grouped together. Dreu is psyched! We head over to Beaches and Cream for milkshakes. I wanted a Banana split but decide itÕs not worth it since I wonÕt eat most of it. By looking at everyones sundaes they remind us of FriendlyÕs at home, big and gooey, yum! The inside of Beaches and Cream vaguely reminds me of Milk and Honey, an ice cream place in OH. Ron had a vanilla milkshake, Dreu 2 huge scoops of vanilla ice cream and I had a rootbeer float. Very tasty! We stop and have Ron and DreuÕs haircut at the YCÕs salon. The CM did a good job and the boys look handsome again! 6:00pm our room is finally ready. Wow, we have a great view! We are located directly center across from the Boardwalk things, perfect view. The room is small, not much larger than a PO room. The bathroom is setup just like PO with 2 sinks and then the tub and shower in a little room. There are 2 queen beds, a small table with 2 chairs, a chair, and dresser in the room. There isnÕt a daybed and a crib would make it tight. The furniture is all white, the colors in the room are bright. (not Contemporary bright but not drab like some say) There is a slight nautical theme to the room, the curtains have ships wheel/anchor in them and the beds have what is supposed to be a ships wheel in the headboards. There is a full balcony and on each side of the slider is a window, that wall is essentially all windows. We enjoy our view for a while and watch the boats. We leave at 6:40pm for ÔOhana! It took us just a few minutes to drive over to the Poly (I am glad we rented a car, this is so much easier!) and we valet park. We check in early at ÔOhana and I request a window seat so we can watch the MK fireworks. We are called right on time and have an AWESOME table, we have a perfect view of the fireworks. This is RonÕs favorite restaurant in WDW and he does a Tim Allen grunt after each thing he eats, lol. Dreu likes the dumplings & veggies, I LOVE the veggies and wings and Ron loves all the meats especially the turkey. The fireworks were great and after getting covered wtih caramel and pineapple juice head back to the YC. We get back to the room and admire our view for a bit before bed. The Boardwalk is lively and pretty when lit up at night. WeÕre off to bed! IOA tomorrow! ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again Reposted from original topic "The Glasmanns do Disney again - Day 2" in order to consolidate the reports into a single Topic. - DM The Cast: Ron (32) Beth (31) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day 2 It is NOISY here at the Yacht Club! We wake up at 6:30am when our neighbors kids start screaming at each other. They sound older than Dreu so thereÕs really no excuse for it. On top of that the mother and father fight about eating in the room. There are kids running down the hall and doors slamming everywhere. At 7am the boat horns start their day and at 7:45am housekeeping knocks on our door. We give up any hope of sleeping in and get up and get ready for IOA. We are moving slowly but weÕre off! We stop at Waffle House for breakfast. Ron just loves this place. IÕm not sure why, lol. The food is decent and all but I always feel like I need a shower after eating in these restaurants, he says itÕs just me : P. Men ; ). We valet park at IOA, we will be so thankful later! We buy a 2 day pass at the gate because weÕre doing Universal on Tuesday. My first thought about IOA is WOW this looks fun! The theming is great, very fun. We hit Seuss Landing first. Dreu deems this area babyfied so the only thing we ride is The Cat In The Hat. Fun! Kind of zippy for that kind of ride. The Lost Continent theming is AWESOME. Ron is in love and wants to move in, lol. He is into all that stuff. There is only a 10 minute wait for PoseidonÕs Fury so we do that first. ItÕs worth doing this just to walk through the building. The show isnÕt much to talk about but the building is cool. After this we head to The Flying Unicorn. Thumbs down from all of us, nothing to this ride it just goes around and around. Probably a fun coaster for the tiny kids. Dreu wants to do Dueling Dragons but heÕs not tall enough so he was bummed. Jurassic Park is the only section we were disappointed with. It could have been so much cooler. I was thinking there would be a dinosaur or two for decoration while walking through. Really nothing visually stimulating here for us. We did the Jurassic Park River Adventure. Is it just us or are there less dinosaurs and a shorter ride here than at the one in CA? We enjoyed the drop! Dreu wanted to ride the Pteranodon Flyers but the wait was 45 minutes, YIKES. Nothing else had a wait ! We do the Discovery Center, we enjoyed the game show the most in here. Triceratops Encounter... eh. I liked looking at the dinosaur but other than that there was nothing else going on and it was a long walk. We take a break for lunch at Mythos. Cool place to eat, Ron especially enjoyed the inside. I had the lobster bisque and a caesar salad, Dreu had a caesar salad and a milkshake, Ron had a wrap and milkshake. Everything was delicious and we had a great seat by the window. Marvel Super Hero Island is another favorite of RonÕs. He has a huge collection of comic books from when he was a kid and Fantastic Four are his favorites I think. (I know nothing about this stuff) Dreu loves all the decorations too. We go on the Storm Force Accelatron first. Ron bails on us ( he turns green on these things, lol) so Dreu and I get to go by ourselves, just as well because this way we get to spin and spin Toon Lagoon is great. We rode the Ripsaw Falls and Barges, we got SOAKED. We were also FREEZING! I think we like the barges best, itÕs wicked for that type of ride! Dreu and Ron agree that Ripsaw Falls beats Splash Mountain hands down. We do the Barges a second time because there is no wait . After that we walk VERY quickly to the car because we were dripping and cold! We were so glad we parked valet because we couldnÕt stand to walk one bit further! It was a very fun day and we really like IOA, it is now on our favorites list. Since Dreu is 8 we enjoyed a break from all the little kids at Disney. Very few strollers and little kids here today. Overall the crowd was very light and we didnÕt have much of a wait for anything. Back at the YC we get into sweats, hang up our wet clothes and head to the Galley for dinner. The menu here is kind of limited but the food was GREAT! Ron had the beef stew in a bread bowl and deemed it wonderful, I had the beer batter fish which was great and Dreu had the cheeseburger. We had the BEST service here. Our waiter was attentive, we had refills before our glasses were empty and our waiter remembered every thing I asked for! Very good experience here! We head back to the room to relax before bed. The Dance Hall is a hopping place. Dreu jams to Ricky Martin and a few other songs theyÕre playing over there. We go to bed and fall asleep to the music and noise from the boardwalk. I love keeping the drapes open while I fall asleep, the lights really pretty. Tomorrow is Pirate Cruise and GF Spa! ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again Reposted from original topic "The Glasmanns do Disney again - Day 3" in order to consolidate the reports into a single Topic. - DM The Cast: Ron (32) Beth (31) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day 3 We are once again woken up by our Òneighbor alarm clockÓ around 6:30am. We are hoping they check out soon so we can sleep in, lol! Oh well it could be worse, it could be me with kids that are that loud! We lounge around until 8am or so and start to get ready, we need to be at the Pirate Cruise around 9:45am. We hop in the car and head over to the GF. At the gate they are very ÒofficialÓ about why weÕre there and give us a 3 hour pass to park there. We havenÕt been in the GF before, itÕs not as upscale/fancy as we had pictured it but it is pretty and feminine. ItÕs on our list of hotels weÕd like to stay at. We get directions to the Pirate Cruise and get there a few minutes early. The Pirate Cruise is 10am-12pm now, I guess that used to be different and youÕre supposed to get there 15 minutes early. We pay and they get Dreu his pirate bandana and a life jacket. They wait for all the kids to show up so they donÕt leave until 10:15am. We have 10:30am ressies at the GFSpa so we are anxious for them to leave, lol. They go over safety rules and joke with the kids to get them riled up, they finally board the boat and we head to the GF Spa! The spa seems like a bit of a hike from where we were, maybe itÕs because I havenÕt had my morning coffee yet, lol. I check us in and they have us sit in the waiting room, they come out right away to get us. They take us to our separate locker rooms and give us robes and flip flops. After changing I sit in the lounge area and shortly after Brian came to get me. He takes me back to the massage room and goes over the aromatherapy options, I choose gardenia. IÕm getting the 50 minute Swedish massage. In November we did the 1/2 hour couples Swedish massag on Castaway Cay and loved it. During the 50 minute massage they do both front, back, head, feet and rear. After the massage I really need a shower, since he massaged my head too itÕs very greasy. I donÕt have time though so I put my hair up in a pony tail and went to find Ron. He is nowhere to be found so I go ahead and pay. It ended up costing us $206 for the massage, I tip each person $25 and I find out that the aromathereapy is an upgrade, LOL $15 a piece (Ron chose it too). Ron finally appears, turns out he snuck and took time to shower : P. Ron who is not normally a massage person loved it again and they did the exact same thing to him as to me. He had a woman do his by the way, he prefers that. This was my first time having a guy do my massage and I was a little self conscious, I had razor stubble and geesh when did my butt start jiggling like that LOL! Anyhow we loved it and it was incredibly relaxing! We head back to pick up Dreu and they are pulling into port, they are learning the pirate song. He had a blast! They hunted for treasure at the Poly, WL and Contemporary. The boat apparently pulls up to each and they get off to do the hunt and activities. They got to eat grapes and each got a bag of goodies (party favor type things). I donÕt have any more detail than that because when Dreu is excited he goes a million miles a minute and I lose track of what heÕs saying because he jumps from one end of the story to the other lol. The $22.95 was well worth it! We are starving and I am greasy so we decide to just run through the drive thru at Taco Bell for lunch. YUM, lol. The nearest Taco Bell to us at home is 20 miles and we havenÕt been in a while, I was having withdrawals lol. We head back to the resort and decide to swim for a while. Stormalong Bay is pretty cool. Dreu loves the slide and ÒwhirlpoolÓ that spins you around. We rent tubes ($10 each for the entire day) but donÕt end up using them much. We end up staying for a few hours and then head back to the room to shower and rest. Beaches and Cream is our restaurant tonight, we are seated right away. Ron and Dreu order milkshakes (they both say yum!). We get onion rings for an appetizer, Ron gets a hamburger, Dreu a chili dog and I get a hot dog with saurkraut. Everything is delicious! After dinner we head over to the arcade. The arcade is a good size and has plenty of games. Ron made us do the ÒelectrocutionÓ thing, you hold onto each other and metal rod which ends up vibrating a LOT lol. We made it until the light hit the top only because Ron wouldnÕt let us let go, sadist lol. We decide to walk over and check out the Beach Club. ItÕs not that great in my opinion. The area rugs are in poor shape, one is seriously falling apart on one of the corners. It looks like it needs freshened up. IÕm glad we had switched our ressies to the YC. We check out the gift shop, there goes our souvenir budget lol. We bought tons of t-shirts and Dreu begged for the monorail. We gave in. (weÕre such a challenge can you tell?? lol) We head back to the room so he can put it together. Back at the room we discover that we have a perfect view of the Epcot fireworks, COOL! We sit on the balcony and watch those and relax. Dreu puts together the monorail and thinks it should say itÕs stoppin at each of the appropriate resorts. This bugs him since heÕs dying for the Contemporary model to go with it. He loves it though and runs it forever! I decide that maybe I have an idea how to avoid all the morning noise from the neighbors. I decide to leave the patio door open then the outside noise will cover the inside noise, make sense lol?? WeÕre off to bed! Tomorrow is Universal! ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again Reposted from original topic "The Glasmanns do Disney again - Day 4" in order to consolidate the reports into a single Topic. - DM Beth The Cast: Ron (32) Beth (31) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day4 My plan worked! We could barely hear our neighbors this morning, yahoo lol! I have no idea why we can sleep through loud boat horns and not children. We slept in until 8am and all felt much better! Today is Universal but first we head to breakfast. Today we decide on Perkins. I have to say that I'm LOVING having a car here. Breakfast is delicious and we wish we had a Perkins at home. When we lived in OH we ate there all the time but now in MA we're Perkinsless lol. We valet park at Universal again. We had bought 2 day passes so just go straight to the turnstiles. Our first ride is The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera. Very fun!! It is such fun for Ron and I to see the cartoon characters we grew up with still popular, we're glad that it's a memory we can share with Dreu and he can understand. Anyhow sorry for that tangent... the ride surprised us! It's more wicked than we had anticipated it would be, a fun surprise! We head to Twister next. We are concerned about Dreu going on this since it says PG 13, we are having flashbacks to when we made Dreu go on Alien Encounter and didn't know what it was about. We ask the Universal employee to tell us a bit about it and he tells us it's just a show he'll be fine. We decide to do it. All the pre-shows and signage make it sound like it will be this big intense thing. It wasn't, lol. It's not any worse than the Earthquake attraction in CA was. Ron and I were disappointed, we were psyched for something really cool and it was pretty lame. Kongfrontation is fun, especially the effects. Our tour guide at Jaws was FANTASTIC! Another fun thing from this area in general was in the queue line, there is a sign that says Bearskin Neck and that's in Rockport where we live. Across from the ride is a fisherman statue. I believe this is meant to mimic the fisherman memorial in Gloucester, the town next to ours. Dreu got a kick out of all this stuff and can't wait to show the kids at school pictures. At MIB we're made to put everything into a locker, even our waist packs. I'm not real sure why since there are holding nets on the ride. This ride is fun. Ron kicked our butts again, BIG! I still think he cheats, lol. He stinks at video games at home so I'm not sure why he's good at these, lol. He got 197,000 while Dreu and I only got around 45,000. Ron loves this and deems it better than Buzz Lightyear, Dreu says it's equal and I vote for better but I still like Buzz too. We bought our picture here on disk. After claiming our stuff from the locker we get to see the MIB characters and take pictures. We take a break to arrange our stuff and the best part of our day happens. The nicest Universal employee comes up to us and asks if we have any birthdays in our group. We don't and say so, he says oh well I'm going to give you this anyhow. It was a skip to the front of the line pass! It was good for each ride 1 time, YIPPEEEE. After we thank him forever, lol we head out to take advantage of it. We have used the morning version with the multi-day ticket but we had even less wait since we were really one of the few to have it. We use our new golden pass at Back to the Future and waltz right in while the masses wait in line. This is one of Dreu's favorite things at universal, he loved it in CA too. We could see the other cars but don't remember being able to in CA. Very fun. ET was my favorite movie when it came out, I cried and cried. I love this ride. I think the scenery is great, definitely worth checking out. Dreu does the playland nearby and raft slide. He doesn't want to leave but we decide after 20 minutes that it's time. Our final ride at Universal is T2. Dreu was big leery of this one, he is the one to have flashbacks to Alien Encounter this time lol. Again it's rated PG-13 but Ron wants to see it and is determined to drag Dreu and I along with him no matter who's scared, lol. Ron and Dreu really enjoyed this show. I really don't like the Terminator movies so this just doesn't do anything for me. We haul butt after T2 to get to Nickelodeon for Slime Time Live at 4. Poor Dreu has been begging to come to Universal just for this forever! There is a big sign up that says starting Jan.1 the show is live Monday - Friday 4-6 or something similar to that. Well Monday thru Friday EXCEPT this week according to an employee, the show isn't until Friday. Dreu is about in mental meltdown. He is really good about accepting disappointments and changes of plans. Poor kid, his heart was broken. His eyes welled with tears and he just couldn't grasp why the sign said it would be happening. He didn't cry but poor thing was so disappointed, it took him a few minutes to bounce back. We decide that we've done everything at Universal and decide to go to IOA for a bit. We had very few lines at Universal today and it was GREAT! On the way to Universal we decide to eat, we settled on NBA. I had some weird wrap thing that I didn't care for, Ron had pizza, Dreu a hot dog and we shared a chicken quesadilla which was excellent. At IOA we used our magic pass at Spiderman, zip up to the front of the line. COOL. We loved the ride again, very fun. Turns out that IOA closes at 6 so we just walked around and took pictures of all the things we missed getting yesterday. On the way home we decide to stop at Goodings to get pop and a few snacks. We've been eating and drinking out of the honor bar and I'm starting to think I'm going to get a nasty surprise wtih a $200 bill, lol. Back at the hotel I do a couple of loads of laundry. The clothes we wore to IOA the other day were still NOT dry, that's how wet we got on the water rides there, lol! We watched the fireworks at Epcot and now at 1am are laying here jamming with the dance hall music. I think we have the perfect location here, we couldn't have had a better view anywhere else here! Tomorrow is a free day, maybe Celebration and tomorrow night is the Villain's Dinner. ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again Reposted from original topic "The Glasmanns do Disney again - Day 5" in order to consolidate the reports into a single Topic. - DM The Cast: Ron (32) Beth (31) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day 5 Things are especially quiet here this morning! I think weÕre rid of our neighbors, YEA lol! Today is our check out the area day. We get ready and head over to Perkins for breakfast. YUM again, lol. After breakfast we head South (or West, whichever direction it runs) on 192 towards Kissimmee. We stopped at Celebration, I know some people think this is an eerie little town, lol. At first it kind of creeped me out, probably one too many horror movies in my life LOL. After a while though it grew on me. I was surprised that it was as plain (color/architecture) as it was. I like strict neighorhood rules though, it keeps it nice and neat. We decided to head up around Universal next. That area around Universal is nice! If you get off I-4 at Universal and turn the opposite direction, there are some fun things that way like Wet n Wild, some haunted thing and a cool go cart place. There was a really COOL mall, Porte Orlando (?) with an FAO Schwartz and Wonderworks (I believe), both are so cool on the outside. I wouldnÕt know if theyÕre cool inside or not because I didnÕt get to go in : (. This is what happens when you are the only female in the family and you get out voted : P. After Ron and I reached our maximum Òtogether in the car and about to kill each other timeÓ we decided to head back to the resort LOL. Once there, we grab a snack at Hurricane HannaÕs. We wander around the resort for a while taking pictures and then head upstairs to get ready for our PS for the VillainÕs Buffet. We had 4 characters at the VillainÕs buffet: Queen of Hearts, Captain Hook, Governor Ratcliffe and Prince John. Many little kids were crying whenever the characters walked by so for a while they wandered around aimlessly not really going up to people. A couple of the parents were a little put out that the Villains were well... Villains, lol not sure what they expected at a Villains themed dinner. After a while most of the people with little kids left (we ate kind of late) and mostly older kids were left so the characters really started to get into their role. The characters were acting villainous... tossing things at people, one was offering candy and then pulling it back quickly, sneaking up on people and just being ornary. Captain Hook scared me repeatedly and Dreu thought that was hilarious lol. I swear that Hook was trying to make me choke on my food, lol. Governor Ratcliffe sat at someones table and pounded with the silverware until they came back, lol. Everything except for the dessert was good, there was a very limited choice for dessert. Some of the foods were: Mexican lasagna, beef stroganoff (very GOOD!), rice, shrimp fried rice, pot stickers, spring rolls (these were GROSS), ravioli, rigatoni, salad, jello, prime rib, salmon, lobster bisque and more that I canÕt remember. We enjoyed our visit here and hope it continues, itÕs refreshing and fun. After dinner we came back to the resort. Ron and Dreu wanted to swim for a bit. Stormalong closed at 6pm (and has every day weÕve been here ) : (, so they had to use the quiet pool. I ended up buying Dreu the Contemporary and Epcot for the monorail he got the other day. After that we go back to the room and head to bed! Tomorrow is MGM! ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again Reposted from original topic "The Glasmanns do Disney again - Day 6" in order to consolidate the reports into a single Topic. - DM The Cast: Ron (32) Beth (31) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day 6 This morning weÕre having fruit in the room for breakfast. We hurry and dress then catch the boat to MGM! We head right to the RockÕnÕ Roller Coaster, there is only a 10 minute wait. Dreu has just recently discovered ÒupsideÓ down coasters and still isnÕt convinced they wonÕt kill him so he was a little apprehensive. WeÕve tried to explain to him that Disney couldnÕt make money if they killed us, lol. We all enjoyed it and Dreu survived! After that we went over to TOT, 10 minute wait again. Dreu and I think this is really fun, it makes Ron a little queasy, lol. I wanted to buy our picture on both but the print quality isnÕt very good and Disney doesnÕt offer the disks like Universal so we skipped it. We decide to eat an early lunch and decide on Sci Fi. We love the inside! We ordered onion rings (yes IÕm getting tired of them ,lol), I had chili, Ron had a prime rib sandwich and Dreu had the grilled cheese. Ron and Dreu both enjoyed their sandwiches. The chili, you can safely skip it and not be missing out on anything lol. What a fun place to eat. After lunch we went to see Doug Live. The show was great! We were sitting in the second row and when the ÒbadÓ guy came out in his rubber suit Ron and I couldnÕt quit giggling. The ÒbadÓ guy was very well endowed LOL. It was the way the costume was but you should have seen the look on the faces of the adults, especially the first few rows!! We did Sounds Dangerous and that was interesting. Indiana Jones is kind of like T2, not my thing but Ron and Dreu enjoyed it. Star Tours is one of DreuÕs favorite things. He loves the moving 3-D rides like this and Back to the Future. After this we head over to the Great Movie Ride. I wish weÕd made it over to this when we had my mom here in Nov., she would have loved this. Dreu loved the gangster part and the Wizard of Oz, the rest of it wasnÕt his speed. We took the Animation tour and think this would be a fun job. None of us can draw so are always amazed at how easy itÕs made to look! We have PS at Mama Melrose for 4:30, the latest seating we could get with the Fantasmic package. We werenÕt hungry yet and had to force ourselves to eat. Dreu had to order an adult entree for us to qualify for the ticket. We all 3 had pizza and agreed that it was ok but nothing spectacular. We are given our Fantasmic ticket and told to be there 1/2 hour early which means we need t o be there by 6pm. Dreu wants to do the Muppets so we head over there and get right in. The theater is nearly empty so we get to sit in the middle. Ron is a big Muppets fan so he really enjoys this. We donÕt have much time after this so we start to head over to Fantasmic. I donÕt think we could possibly have been any further away LOL. After all the food we ate today weÕre not moving very fast either and our poor feet are starting to hurt, we must have been a sight! The theater is only 1/2 full when we arrive. The Fantasmic seats are the 2 far right sections (when youÕre at the top of them, would be far left if facing audience from stage) and they are nearly empty. We head down and claim a front row seat. There is a pre-show while everyone is being sat, they sell junk food and junk toys lol. Dreu gets one of the light up MickeyÕs and cotton candy. The show is wonderful though we wish there were more of the Òreal thingÓ and not so much of the cartoon stuff. The effects are great! Our seats are good and we get some great pictures! Dreu loves the show and sits engrossed in it the whole time. After the show they usher us out to the side and we take a loooooong back way, LOL. The stores are still open and I really want to stop in the Villains store but weÕre too tired and keep on truckinÕ to the exit. We decide to take the boat back to the YC and end up waiting about 1/2 hour or more : P. Apparently there are only 2 boats tonight. Back at the resort we CRASHED lol! Tomorrow is MK ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again Reposted from original topic "The Glasmanns do Disney again - Day 7" in order to consolidate the reports into a single Topic. - DM The Cast: Ron (32) Beth (31) Dreu (8) Dates: January 13-21 Day 7 Today is MK day, YEA! This is our favorite park. We were going to do MK tomorrow but decided to do it today because itÕs supposed to rain tomorrow. We head to Beaches and Cream to see what they have for breakfast. ItÕs a continental breakfast here, there is: 2 different kinds of mickey shaped donuts, bagels, muffins, hot and cold cereal, fruit and yogurt, juice and coffee, milk, juice and tea. We grab a quick bite to eat and Dreu finally gives up hope that heÕll score a donut as we head out the door and for the bus stop, lol. We wait about 10 minutes for an MK bus, it is nearly empty and we get to the MK quickly. Since we had bought our tickets for today at the resort we went straight to the gate. I always feel like a 5 year old when I first enter the MK, exciting! We walk down Main St. and take in all the smells, sights and sounds. I could live on Main St., think theyÕll let me?? Dreu wonÕt quit asking if we can go on Thunder Mtn., it was closed last time we were here. We head over to Frontierland and thereÕs only a 10 minute wait so we go ahead and ride it. We still like the DL version better but of course this is fun. We decide to do Splash Mtn. while weÕre over here. Dreu loves this ride. We have a panic moment at the end... the ride keeps stopping throughout when we reach the last big drop they have a bunch of us lined up to go. They let one boat go up at a time and donÕt send the next until itÕs over the top and heading down. When itÕs our turn the other boat gets about 1/2 of the way up and we start going. HELP, lol. Dreu and I are writing our wills and Ron is laughing at us, lol. We came down right behind the boat in front of us... CLOSE! After we jump start my heart we head to the Haunted Mansion, lol. Have they changed this? I donÕt remember seeing the hearse in the ball room before but maybe I just missed it, IÕm not the most observant person so itÕs very possible. I love this ride. I remember riding this with my niece (sheÕs a year younger than me) as kids and she was freaking out and crying, wuss LOL. I love HM! We head over to Fantasyland next because we have PS for CinderellaÕs Royal Table at noon. We ride a few things and get a FP for Peter Pan. We shop and Dreu gets a new case for his Palm, a pen and a stuffed sorcerer Mickey. Ron gets one of the pens too... writes in black ink, red ink and pencil. You hold the side up you want and push the button, itÕs cool! We are a few minutes early for our PS but are taken in right away. I LOVE the Castle!! I think this is the best meal at WDW and the ambience canÕt be beat! We had the same as always... Ron the Major DomoÕs Pie, I had the Prime Rib and Dreu had the cheese hot dogs. Ron tried a bite of my Prime Rib for the first time and decided that heÕd have it next time because itÕs so good! HeÕs been on a prime rib kick lately when eating out and thinks this is the best... I agree : ) !! There arenÕt any characters here today and thatÕs ok with us, Dreu would rather not have to deal with the princesses LOL. After lunch we grab FP for Winnie the Pooh. WeÕve never been on this before because none of like WTP at all. We think we should do it though just to say we have, lol. We had over to Tomorrowland, RonÕs favorite section. We do the race cars and then decide to do Carousel of Progress since weÕve never been on that. Ron and I really enjoyed this. My dad was born in 1911 so I always think when I see things like this that it must be amazing for him to have experienced such drastic changes during his life! We head back over to WTP for our FP and get right on. This is the only way to do this ride! Stand by was 45 minutes!!! The ride is cute and if youÕre into WTP you would find it especially enjoyable and cute. After this weÕre on to Space Mtn., 10 min. wait and we were off! We all love this ride and Dreu gets his need for speed fulfilled for a while, lol. Dreu decides heÕs still not brave enough to do Alien Encounter again so we skip it, Ron loves this so is a little bummed but wonÕt do it without me. What a baby:P lol. We stop and have ice cream bars and then weÕre off to Adventureland! We do the Pirate Cruise 2 times because we are TIRED and need the break, lol. After that we decide that weÕve done everything we wanted to and are ready to head out before the crowds. We limp down Main St. lol and stop to buy some Fudge. As we exit we make Dreu run ahead because there is a YC bus and we donÕt want to wait for the next one. You guys should have been on the bus back with us, it was a ride in itself LOL. This chic was FLYING. People were slipping and sliding around in their seats and hanging on for dear life. On one of the exits the suggested speed was 25, she was doing no less than 55. On turns the bus was leaning so far over we had a great ground shot. I donÕt know if she was late for a hot date or if she saw Speed one too many times, lol. She barely stopped to let us off at the YC and was off before the door closed, LOL. We decide to hop in the hot tub for a bit to help our aches and pains. It is WONDERFUL!! No one else is at the quiet pool and we get to stretch out in the hot tub. We let Dreu swim while we are in the hot tub, the deep end of the pool is only 4ft. We jump in with him for a while then decide to get a bite to eat. We didnÕt feel like dressing for dinner so we donned our comfy clothes and ate at the Galley. We had onion rings (yes I could live forever without seeing another onion ring, lol!), I had a caesar salad and clam chowder. The clam chowder was AWFUL. It had Italian seasonings in it and was kind of a green color, Yuck! The waiter was nice and took it off of our bill. I would have paid for it but just didnÕt want to eat it, lol. Dreu had mac and cheese and Ron the stew, both enjoyed their meal. After dinner we went over to Beaches and Cream for dessert. Ron had a milkshake and Dreu shared a banana split with me.... it was HUGE and delicious! We were exhausted by this point so went back to the room and off to sleep! Tomorrow is a free day and our packing day : ( ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! None of us were ready to get up yet so weÕre not really hungry yet, LOL. The characters are: Chip, Dale, Pluto and of course Goofy. Our waiter is hilarious, he has a joke for everything and theyÕre actually not bad After breakfast we head back to the room because we need to grab the monorail stuff, weÕre having it sent home. We toss around the idea of swimming one last time but itÕs COLD! Instead we lounge around the room for a while then go for a walk on the boardwalk. Dreu plays the games and wins a monkey and lochness monster. We went into the gift shop because I wanted to buy picture frames. Dreu discovers pins for the first time, heÕs just never checked them out before. EXPENSIVE HABIT!! I spent about $100 on pins and a thing to put them on. We spend a bit more time on the boardwalk then head back to the resort. We decide to do ÔOhana for our farewell dinner. Ron LOVES this place in case you havenÕt noticed, lol. We are seated in a great area again and with little wait. Dreu is psyched about the coconut race, he says heÕs getting good at it but the people he runs his coconut into may differ with that opinion LOL. The food is excellent as usual, the turkey is especially juicy tonight. We save room for dessert this time. The white chocolate mousse is EXCELLENT! After dinner we have to ride the monorail, we havenÕt been on it at all this trip! We buy more pins (did I mention weÕre dangerous???!!!) and head back to the resort and head off to bed, we have to get up early Day 9 We had an incredibly smooth travel day! No problems returning our rental car or with our flight (Delta). There is SNOW here, what a shock after all the 80 days! Our dogs are happy weÕre home but weÕre ready to go back already! Thanks everyone for reading and for going on vacation with us ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use! | Re: The Glasmann\'s do Disney again IOA and US are definitely worth visiting! We didn't do Epcot this trip, we did in November though. Epcot isn't one of our favorite parks so this trip we focused on the other parks. ------------------ ¼o¼ Beth ¼o¼ Taking a break from reality, goin' to see the M¼o¼use!
