Sharon\'s Trip Report Day #2

June 16th - Saturday:
Got up early and went to Universal Studios. We had the whole park done by 11:00am. Except for a couple of rides. It was not crowded at all. Loved it. We got off one ride and casually walked over to the next one. (I'm thinking...wow....this is great.....I hope our whole vacation is like this.)

We at lunch at Mel's Dinner. The kids wanted a hamburger, so we did. It wasn't bad. The fries are served in a cup and they were not exactly hot...but that's OK.

After that, we let the kids go over to Fievel's playland and Curious George's land. Let me tell you....they were wet. If you don't have a bathing suit...make sure they take there tennis shoes off, otherwise they will have wet socks and shoes all day. They loved the heck out of that because it kept them cool all day. Even my 13 year old had fun (go figure? lol).

We then walked over to the Beetlejuice show and watched it. Let me tell you....it is very, very loud. Be prepared for that. After the kids had dried off some, we headed to Terminator....good show. By then, it was around 4:30 and we had originally thought we would eat at NASCAR.....but none of us where hungry and we had done all the rides we could possible do. (we were actually done with all the rides around 2:30...but just walked around City Walk shopping up until this time). So...we decided to leave and head back to FW. On the way though, we decided to stop off at Bob Evan's and eat dinner. (we don't have a Bob Evan's here in P.C., so it was a treat for us...we love B.E.)

We got back and decided to go swimming. AAhhh.....it was nice but the pool was packed! After a dip in the pool....I got out my Rosie magazine and relaxed with that.
Tomorrow we are headed to EE at MGM/AK for a 1/2 day.

The rides we really liked were Twister (loud....if you don't want to get wet.....there are 2 rows. Stay on the back row, but not near the railing...step back from the railing against the wall, and you won't get wet.), Jaws, Men in Black (it's kinda like Buzz Lightyear.....only better. They control the car for you....and it's alot of going around and around in circles....lol). Back to the Future....wow...intense....I thought it would be like STar Wars at MGM....it's a jerky ride...just make sure you are not on the ends. My elbow was bruised up from being banged around.

I think that's about it. Had fun! Good start to our vacation!

Re: Sharon\'s Trip Report Day #2

We had a blast playing with Curious George a few years ago. It felt so good to open a mail box and get a nice cool surprise.

My oldest niece (13 at the time) a first thought it was for just the little kids, but after about 2 seconds was running around.

Great reports!

I have never been over to the darkside of Orlando to Universal! Glad to hear that you had a good time!!! We never have time to go anywhere when we are in Orlando. Disney takes up our entire vacation!!! Poor us, right!!!
