Sharon\'s Trip Report - Day #9

Saturday - June 23rd - Day #9

We went on down to Trails Ends for breakfast. I love this place. They have the best breakfast for the price. Plus they give you unlimited refills on OJ. I had the bacon, cheese scrambled eggs, breakfast pizza (tasted different then the last time I had it) and of course…Mickey Waffles! We ate and ate and ate.

Well, it was raining again this morning so we got ready and headed over to Disney Quest. Because we are Florida residents, we got $10.00 off the price of each ticket. YES!

It was already crowded when we got in there (it was around 10:45am). I figured it would be because it's a Saturday and it's raining. The kids and Cameron went nuts over all the games that you can play. The top 2 floors are the ones that have the games that you actually have to pay for. It wasn't crowded there at all. Why should you pay for games when you have all these other games to play?

Kayla and I rode the Buzzlightyear ride. It's a ride that 2 people have to ride. One steers and the other shoots the balls at the other peoples car. What you do is ride over the balls and they come up into your car and then you aim them at someone's car. If you hit them…the light goes off on their car and they spin out of control for about 10 seconds. Let me tell you…it's not as easy as it sounds.

They also have a virtual reality raft ride. We all rode it and you are in an actual raft on an air mattress with a screen in front of you. You have paddles and you are controlling where your boat goes. Let's just say...we didn't do so well. They have sprinkles of water on you too to make it feel like you are on an actual raft ride. It was fun, but not as easy as it looks.

They had my favorite games that I used to play as a teenager…..Centipede and Pac-man. Love those games.

They had a virtual reality game that you put the mask on and you fight with a sword. Well, I wear glasses and they didn't fit comfortably over me at all. And my glasses are small. The guy assured me I wouldn't have any problem. I did and the mask kept coming off.

They have a race car that you get in and race against 10 people. That was fun. I didn't do so hot though…lol

Well, we were still stuffed from breakfast, but Kayla was a bit hungry so we went up to one of the 2 restaurants they have up there and ordered a drink and a basket of French fries.

By then, I had had enough, so I went shopping. Well, actually they all decided to go with me too. So…we shopped (it was still raining, but lightly now). We spent the afternoon doing this. And we had PS's for the Rainforest. I had gift certificates to eat there.

Well, it's pretty crowded at the RF, but we walked right on in. We were seated in the elephant room at a nice big table. Our server was EXCELLENT. He was very attentive and always refilling our drinks (compared to last time when our food and service was awful). I ordered the pot roast and it was yummy. Chris had the pizza and a basket of French fries. He liked it and wished he had not of gotten the FF because the pizza was so big. Cameron got the chicken and he liked it a lot. Kayla got the chicken fingers and they were shaped like dinosaurs. Got our bill and we told our server that we almost didn't come back because of the last time we were here it was terrible. He said that last summer they went through a change over and that it was bought out by Landrys. He said the kitchen and wait staff were terrible last summer but that things had and are getting better. We said we thought he was excellent and that we appreciated him being as good as he was. Needless to say…we left him a good tip.

Well, we did some more shopping and Cameron and Chris headed back to DQ. Kayla had saved up all her allowance and bought her the Snow White Dress she had wanted at World of Mickey (I think that's what it is called). The dress was $55.00…wow….that was a lot. She wanted all the accessories that went with it…but we decided on just getting the gloves. The shoes and headband…she could use something that she has at home for that. Plus she is going to use this as her Halloween costume this year.

By now, it's dark and downtown Disney looks so pretty at night. No more rain! Got the gang and we headed back to the car. Someone had ran into the front part of our car with something. There wasn't a dent or anything…..just a long black streak that was very hard to get out.

Went back to the camper and we went to the Meadows campfire store and got an ice cream. Sat out on the porch and just watched everyone walk by.

Tomorrow is our day to just do NOTHING! Plus it is our last day at FW and DW.

Love your Trip report. I am going to have to take notice of the celery smell on the way to Adventureland.

Re: Sharon\'s Trip Report - Day #9

We went to Disney Quest when it first opened and were not too impressed. It sounds like they have improved it. We'll have to try it again. I love the Cheesecake Factory inside DQ though.

As far as RF Cafe goes, I liked it years agao when the menu had the Magilla Gorilla Grilled Cheese Sandwich on it as well as the Bruschetta. We went in April and those two items were no longer on the menu. Booo hooo for us!!
