Just a few comments on our recent trip

Wow twice in a two month period to WDW and I have to admit that for the very first time, I am about Disnied out.
Comments: When are they going to have the EPCOT fountain up and running again? I understand that they found some real problems with it but they don't seem to even be working on it, it is sitting there all abandoned.
On the same note, what are they doing in the stores on Main Street that are empty? I can see the work going on the west side but the other side of the street just has blank fronts since June at least.
And what about Donald's boat, the water is up and running everywhere else but not there. People walk into the boat and stand there and then walk out shrugging, wondering what it was they were supposed to see. My youngest son loves this attraction and was disappointed that it was not working in June or August.
I have always been an advocate of the buses at Disney, maybe because we always drove down and it was nice to let someone else drive for a change. But one bus line servicing All Star Sports, Movies, and Music is not enough for such large resorts. When they add the Pop Century resorts, I think they will have serious transportation problems on their hands.
Tiffany Towncar was not as nice as I had expected. I won't name names but our driver was surley and impatient. He tried twice to charge us additional charges for "delays" (he said we had called and requested an earlier pick up time, we had not). I think I like Transtar the best for the future.
Okay, now that I have groused, what did we like? The Kaki Gori !!!! Eating at China, Japan and Canada. Illuminations and Fantasmic, worth the whole trip every time.
The bus drivers who did a great job under some very trying circumstances. My youngest son has become a Mickey Bar convert, three a day at least. (I don't like them myself)
Splash Mountain and Buzz Lightyear are still great and we all loved Alladin.
The lines for August weren't bad if you went early and avoided the heat as well.
We went to Islands of Adventure on one day and thought it was beautifully themed but somehow souless. It is still just not Disney and again, my three sons (20, 14, 8) wanted to leave at 1 o'clock, having done everything that interested them. They liked Spiderman, loved the Cat in Hat but pronounced Bilge Rats, Dudley Do Right and Jurassic Park too wet. My oldest son also noted that for so new a park, everything seemed in disrepair. The Dinosaurs at Jurassic park actually showing their moving parts under spiliting skins.
Our favorite days were spent at the Magic Kingdom, DisneyQuest, Blizzard Beach, WinterSummerland Golf and on the water mice.
Oh gosh, I guess I am ready to go again!

Re: Just a few comments on our recent trip

Gosh, I'm sorry to hear your impressions on Universal - we hit both parks for three days on our trip over the 4th of July and LOVED both parks. Very favorable impression, and while they lack the "Disney Magic", they possessed "Universal Magic". Clearly not Disney and Disney does do better in a lot of areas, but we thought Universal beat out Disney in a lot of areas, too. I'll agree that Jurassic Park and the Popeye rides are indeed WET (!) but were a lot of fun, and we didn't notice anything in need of repair - in contrast we noted how clean and well kept the park was...Oh well, just my opinion! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip!
