Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day Two: The REAL Buzz and Woody!

The Pooh Patrol:

Momma Pooh: Theresa still 25 at this point ... a Disney veteran
Eeyore: PawPaw59 and already getting bored and it's only day 2
Rabbit: Gammaw55 and is falling in love with Disney as much I have at this point
Tigger: Connor 3 1/2... first trip to Disney and determined to meet the "REAL" Buzz Lightyear
Piglet: Christopher 2 1/2.... first trip and is amazed at EVERYTHING!

September 17th thru 23rd, 2001... All-Star Movies Resort... Toy Story building 9, 2nd floor near the courtyard!

Day Two: Tuesday, Sept. 18th 2001
We woke up around 7:30... those that hadn't showered/bathed the night before did so and we all got dressed. Connor insisted on wearing his "Buzz" shirt today... Christopher stuck with Mickey. The whole crew headed down to the Food Court for breakfast... 3 adult buffets, 1 child's Mickey Waffle(which you get two waffles with one order... great for splitting between two toddlers), and a side order of grits. Total for breakfast $20.75. And just FYI.... the grits are TERRIBLE!!!(they shamed the south with this bowl... YUCK!) Everything else was quite tasty!
We decided to take the bus this morning. Apparently everyone at both the other All-Stars had the same idea and by the time the bus for MGM reached us it was standing room only! Do the math... 2 toddlers + 2 strollers + 3 adults= disaster waiting to happen! And the fact that our bus driver, Marie, must have trained with NASCAR didn't help matters either(if you get on a bus and see this woman run for your life... she drives like a maniac!!!). Needless to say after that little bus trip we drove the rest of the week.
Getting off the bus a little boy, about 3 or 4 years old, pulls his pants down and proceeds to "water" the sidewalk... made me think of a previous trip report someone had written... and we all bust out laughing!
We get threw the gates and there on the left hand side is Jessie(the yodeling cowgirl ), Eeyore, and Baloo! Christopher decided the only one he trusted enough to get close to was Jessie... Connor had to meet them all, with autograph books and pen in hand he acted like an old pro!
After our little meet and greet session we headed further into the park.
Okay, here is my take on the GIANT hat:
I like it... the concept of it... but HATE the location!!! It should have been put somewhere else... it totally blocks the view of the Chinese Theater! Okay... enough ranting and raving...
Our 1st stop- The Great Movie Ride... The CM noticed our name tags and struck up a conversation with the boys... He was a bald guy named Curly, big muscles, kind heart... he ended up giving both the boys a pin for their lanyard(both Mickey MGM director pins). Our ride went well... the boys loved the shoot out scene... but it broke down right at the big screen finale and we didn't get to see the movie montage.
The boys then decided it was time for a potty break(actually Christopher annouces, while we were "broke down" in the GMR, "Momma I poopy", which of course made everyone giggle and made me blush!
So after the potty break we decide to do Disney Animation since it is right there. I have never seen this and found it incredible! It was neat to see the animators at work and the next release "Leo and Stitch" looks adorable!
From there we headed over to Voyage of the Little Mermaid. What a GREAT show! (I volunteered to play a live Ursula... all they'd have to do is paint me purple and give me a mole... I have a strapless black dress... they wouldn't even have to pay me... I'd do it for free... I can sing off key... LOL)

Much to our disappointment they were still working on converting Bear in the Big Blue House Live to Playhouse Disney Live... that's okay... just means we have to come back!

From there we headed over to the Muppet 3D show. Everyone loved it... and on the way out the back door I spotted the Christmas shop(I am a HUGE Christmas freak! I am working on a complete Disney Christmas theme for my house this year... so I had to make a few purchases). Then it happened... the moment the boys had been waiting for! They spotted their favorite characters... Buzz Lightyear and Woody! I think the whole park could hear them squealing like little piggies. They marched right up.... handed them their autograph books and then attacked... big hugs and big smiles... I was crying! On our way out we stopped and bought two Buzz and Woody baseball hats for the boys, which they wore non-stop the rest of the day.
From there we headed over to Sci-Fi Drive In for our 1:30 PS seating. Marcus was our car hop... and he was wonderful! ** A special thank you to all of you who suggested taking the boys here... they LOVED it ** We ordered 2 BBQ Chicken Sandwhiches, 2 Cokes, 1 Tea, 1 House Salad, and 1 Asteriod Kiddie Meal with 2 souvenir kiddie cocktail cups. Marcus had the chef split the chicken in the kitchen and as he was coming to our table we heard a plate hit the floor. He appologized and appeared with another WHOLE order within 5 minutes.... and ended up not charging us for any of the boys food. And when he asked us how the food was, my father, who is quick to voice his opinion said the salad was awful(he just doesn't like paying over $5.00 for a meal... lol... and he said he bit into something that tasted like dirt)... so Marcus took the salad off the bill as well... what great customer service! Our total bill $31.75... Tip Marcus got from us $8.25(just for putting up with my father... lol).
My suggestion for those of you planning on eating at Sci-Fi... unless you are a big eater, order one dish and split it... the sandwhiches are huge and mom and I both ended up with half a sandwhich in a doggie bag.
From there we headed back to the bus... and the hotel to rest for E-ticket night(Another side note... when I checked in on Monday and asked about E-tickets I was handed a card for each "paid" guest in our party, keeping in mind Christopher was free, and wasn't charged for any of them. When I asked the CM told me that they had a ton of cancellations and that they were giving the E-tickets as a "thank you" for showing up... another great customer service plan I think)
Anyway... we all took naps... Got up around 5:30, changed and headed over to the MK.

Re: Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day Two: The REAL Buzz and Woody!

Part Two... The MK
Took the monorail and arrived at the gates at 6:30. Went to the courtyard beside City Hall and traded the cards in for wristbands. We stopped on Main Street to get some "opt orn" as my youngins' call it(popcorn). And headed over to our first ride of the night, The Hanted Mansion, or as the boys dubbed it the rest of the week "The Pooky House"... They LOVED it!!!! Not scared at all.
Our next stop... Country Bear Jamboree... they loved it the first day and insisted we do it again.
From there we headed over to Splash Mountain... after being measured, my little man didn't make the cut... so Gammaw took him over to the "playground" as PawPaw, Mommy and Connor headed up the stairs. I was really worried about his reaction to this ride... but... he LOVED it! When we got back to the "loading dock" and they asked if we wanted to do it again, Connor screams YES!!! So off we went again! After that ride we decided to go check on Gammaw and Christopher. The minute Connor sees Gammaw he says "Gammaw you have to do it with me and mommy".... Well Christopher had met a "lady friend" named Caitlyn and didn't want to leave anyway, so Gammaw, Mommy and Connor went up the stairs, leaving PawPaw on playground watch. We rode "Pash Ountan" 2 more times. Then it was off to Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.... once again Christopher was too short, so he happily headed back to the playground at S.M. while PawPaw, Connor and Mommy proceeded to ride BTMRR 3 times non-stop!
What I found neat about the whole measuring system(Christopher being just 2 inches shy of making the cut)... at both the rides he was given a certificate saying "Future Engineer" and "Future Splasher" that are going into the scrapbook....they are very nicely done with all the characters on them... and we were told by the CM's that they can be used as a Fast Pass when he gets tall enough to ride.... I thought that was awesome!
From there we stopped and snacked on things in our backpack.... and then headed threw Liberty Square over to the front of the castle... where the most magical moments of the trip(besides the new parade) happened.
Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Pluto were hanging out in front of the castle, down between it and the Walt and Mickey statue. No one was around but us! Mickey played with the boys... Pluto stole the strollers and took them on a joy ride... Goofy came running up to me(without his CM guide to lead him) and trips over the curb, landing in my arms and almost taking me out with him, I could hear him saying "I'm so sorry" and then we both busted out laughing! Christopher starting flirting with Minnie.... blowing her kisses.... she came over took him by the hand and sat on the ground with him, holding him in her lap... he showered her with kisses and she quickly returned them. Goofy takes my hand holds it up and looks... gets down on one knee and proposes(see tomorrow's (day 3) report for the on-going Goofy saga). Pluto follows PawPaw around imitating him. This went on for about 30 to 45 minutes with just the 5 of us and them.... with no one else around! It was incredible! Then I decided it was time to ride Buzz Lightyear since it was 9:30 and it was now or never for that night. One of the character helpers comes up and says "Theresa(I had my name tag on) Where are you guys staying and when are you leaving"? I thought this was kind of strange but proceeded to tell her and she thanked me and said to look out for a special surprise.
We told the characters good-bye... the boys got kisses from Minnie... Pluto licked Gammaw and Goofy once again kissed my hand. And off we went to Buzz Lightyear's Ride.
No line... no waiting.... we rode this ride non-stop 6 times! By 10 pm we had it mastered! We walked back down Main Street and watched the Goodnight Kiss... got on the monorail and off to our van. The boys were asleep before we got back to the resort! We carried them in and changed them into night clothes. Gammaw and I went down to the Food Court for drink refills. Came back and set the wake-up call for 6:30 and off to dreamland we went!

Coming Soon... Day 3... The "Goofy" Birthday Surprise!!!

I'm really enjoying your report. We also had a bus driver like yours, but he was kind enough to warn us and told us to hold on to or drinks or we might be wearing them.
Sounds like you're having a wonderful time. Can't wait to hear more.
