Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day 4: Am I dating Goofy? and Fantasmic!

The Pooh Patrol

Pooh(Theresa) 26
Eeyore(PawPaw) 59
Rabbit(Gammaw) 55
Tigger(Connor) 3 1/2... 1st trip
Piglet(Christopher) 2 1/2... 1st trip
Goofy(Will) 26... a "special" bit character

Day 4... September 20, 2001... Animal Kingdom/MGM

We woke up around 7:30AM and started getting dressed for the day. PawPaw ran down to the Food Court with our refillable cups and got coffee and coke. We ate Pop Tarts and fruit in the room... made the boys chocolate milk out of our cooler. Packed the backpack... grabbed some more film and the camcorder(and recharged battery) and headed for the van around 8:30. We arrived at AK in no time and to my surprise were parked so close to the gates we didn't have to ride a tram... there was no one in the park, or so it seemed. We had planned on doing this park on our first day but do to the rescheduling by our first day tag-a-longs we pushed it back. We entered the gates and headed over to the Tree of Life for It's Tough to be a Bug. I grabbed the camcorder and turned it on... no red light... it was black... check to see if the battery is in right... still no juice. I figured I could buy an extra battery in the park... no deal... they don't carry them anymore but told me I could recharge the battery if I had my charger with me. Where was the charger? back at the hotel! So no video of our day at AK.

We make it to the Tree and the boys are in total shock... they love it! I was worried about the show, I know many people have said their children got scared. Well the boys grabbed their 3D glasses and we headed into the theater. I was watching them more than the show and they were reaching out for things and laughing.... they LOVED it!!! And when the show was over neither of them wanted to give back the bug glasses. There was a delightful CM at the door named Elaina who came over and quietly told me to stick them in my backpack for the boys. BIG thumbs up to her... she made their day!
We decided to head over to Dinoland... and as we were walking my cellphone started ringing.... it was "Goofy" Will. He had to work that day but would get off at 5 and wanted to know if he could tag along to MGM with us that night... after checking with the folks I told him yes and agreed on a time for him to meet us at the hotel.
We headed on in to Tarzan Rocks. I hate that I didn't get to tape this show... it was the first time I had seen it... and it definitely rocks! We all loved it.
Then it was on to The Dinosaur ride... Christopher once again was too short to ride so he and PawPaw waited this one out at the Dinoland playground. Connor is a huge Dino fan so this was right up his alley. He didn't care about being bumped around in that jeep at all he wanted that Dino! As we were getting off he asked to ride it again and this time I pulled rank and said no... mean mommy
From here we let Connor join Christopher and play in the play area while I climbed on benches to see how the construction was going. I took pictures of what I did find... it looks like they are almost finished... or pretty close anyway(will post pictures as soon as I can).
A quick potty break and we headed to Camp Minnie Mickey. We rubbed elbows with Mickey, Pluto, Pooh and Tigger.... and then it was off to Africa for Safari! Christopher falls asleep in the stroller on the way over there.... and slept threw the line and out of the stroller... until we actually hit the bridge that has the "surprise". We got a great view of all of the animals. Connor was pointing them out and once Christopher woke up he squealed with delight. My parents also enjoyed this.... my father was convinced the bridge was the real thing... lol.
We had decided at this point to run back over to Dinoland and have lunch at the Restuarantasaurus. Let me begin by saying this was the absolute worst meal we had during our stay! We ordered 3 Dinosize Burger Deals and 2 Chicken Nugget Happy Meals. Our burgers were Dino alright... they were like they had been cooked and recooked over and over for the past 2000 years! The boys nuggets were rubbery... Christopher kept hitting his on the table and they sounded like rocks. BAD experience... wouldn't recommend this to anyone!
Okay... enough ranting and raving...
We decided we would do the Khali River Rapids before we left... so over to Asia we went. I didn't think little man would make the cut but he did and was allowed to ride in the special bar seat. We got loaded and off we went. And who takes the brunt of the water... Christopher! I wish I would have had the video camera to capture this moment. He looked like a deer caught in headlights!!!
We all got wet but he looked like a drowned rat! My little champ didn't complain one bit... he loved it and wanted to do it again... but Gammaw protested and we decided to call it a day at the AK. We headed back to the van and back to ASMov.

Once back at the hotel we decided to get the boys changed into swim gear and head down to the pool. Switched out batteries and downstairs we went. They LOVED the kiddie pool... and the little whale. We played there for about an hour and then decided it was time to go up and rest. They were out like lights within 15 minutes. And so were the three of us adults.
As many of you know I was diagnosed with M.S. back in February and I have my good days and my bad days. I was so afraid with all the walking we were doing that I would have to break down and rent a wheelchair before the week was over. God shined down on me and all the pixie dust and prayers worked... I didn't have any problems with walking... just a little tired and needed naps as much as the boys did but I was truly blessed with good health and good meds during this trip.

Re: Pooh and the crew do Disney... Day 4: Am I dating Goofy? and Fantasmic!

Part Two... MGM and Fantasmic

I was up first... decided since we had been playing in the pool I would go shower and get refreshed. I was showered, made up and dressed within 20 minutes. I woke my parents and the boys and we were all dressed and ready. We had told Will to meet us at the hotel around 6pm... he was there at 5:45. So we all got in the van and headed over to MGM. Our first stop... Tower of Terror. Christopher was again too short to ride so he and Gammaw sat this one out while Connor, PawPaw, Mommy and Will headed up to the loading dock. Connor proceeded to talk Will's ear off the whole way... and Will be the sweetie he is ate it up! Connor wanted to sit inbetween PawPaw and Will on this ride so Mommy sat on the end. Connor LOVED this... he is definitely my little dare devil.... instantly saying he wanted to go it again. So we headed out... switched PawPaw for Gammaw and Will said he would stay and keep my father company... what a guy! So we did it again... and I thought my mother would die! She is definitely not a thrill seeker... she screamed her head off... LOL.
We decided that we would head over to Rock N Rollercoaster. I know there was no way in heck Mom would do this and even though Connor is tall enough I didn't want him doing it... so my father(who had no idea what this ride was), Will and I headed over to ride while Gammaw and the boys played out front. Will asks dad if he knew anything about the ride and dad said no... Will asked "are you sure you want to make him do this... he might disown you".... we all laughed. Dad is a thrill seeker and I wanted to see his reaction to this one. When we got into the loading area dad kept laughing at how fast it took off. We all got loaded and 3.... 2.... 1... .Whiplash!!!!! I could hear my father laughing behind us.
When we were getting off of it dad thanked Will and I for letting him do it with us... he loved it and we said we would do it again if we had time before the show started. We decided to run over to Pizza Planet and get some dinner before the show started. GREAT pizza... and the boys loved the atmosphere!
Quick potty break and off to Fantasmic we went. We got GREAT seats... dead center... and it was already 7:25! At the last minute everyone started rushing in. Will excused himself for a minute and came back with 2 Sorcerer Mickey Light Up Spinners and a Light Up Pooh Spinner for me... .what a doll
This show was INCREDIBLE!!!! I can't believe I missed it on my last trip! I am still in aw!!!! I would have never thought they could project a movie on a sheet of water like that... AMAZING!!!! I was glued... the boys were glued... my parents were glued... and darling "Goofy" video taped for me so I wouldn't miss any of it!
We sat there for about 15 minutes after it was over to let the crowd clear out a bit.
Then we got up and headed out. We chit chatted about it all the way back to the van and then back to the hotel. The boys were asleep before we hit the main road! We got them dressed and in bed and my mom said "Why don't you guys go out and have some fun".... we didn't need to be told twice! We headed down to Will's car and over to D.D. Our first stop was Disney Quest.... were we played for about an hour.... had a blast on the virtual boat ride!
And then it was over to the House of Blues... were we had a couple of drinks and listened to a GREAT band! We had a blast... and since it was getting late we decided to head back to the hotel. Another great day... .and wonderful night!
Will walked me back up to the room and we said goodnight

Oh, hurry and write please! I'm enchanted with this report! Your children sound like angels, your parents are just terrific sports and well, Goofy seems to have some serious potential. I have to hear how it all turns out.
