Mickey called at 6AM.I am the onlyone answering the wack up calls.Good thing I love the Mouse!Todays the day the one I've been waiting for!!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] I get to go on the AK Baskstage tour!!!We arrive about 7am at AK.I was glad I grabbed some donuts at the resort.We sit near the entrence waitting to get in and wacth the geusts going in to breackfast. When security shows up we get checked and wait in line the front of the line.

At 8am the start of circle of life gose off and Rafiki comes around the corner and welcomes everyone there.Other charecters follow him.We get a locker and head to the train.We have to take the 1st on to Conservation Station.There was about a 15min wait,we get on and off we go to meet the CM.On the over we saw the baby white rino in the yard.we get to the station and are told to head down to the biulding, where we meet Milissa,our tour guide.There was 6 or 8 others in the group.
We get name badges,a trip to the restroom,and off we go.1st stop was in front of a place they keep birds of prey so they can get fresh air.We saw 2 owls and a rear hawlk (sorry I can't remember it's name)the only one in captivety.Then we went to the Rino house.They were doing a sonagrm so we couldn't see the rinos [img]images/icons/frown.gif[/img] . So on to the Elephant house.We learned alot on poching here.So Remember end poching DON'T buy Ivory. Then we wenr ro the back of the Affetion Section were CM lisa talked tous and we got to meet Joseph an edangered goat.He was very cute we got to pet him.We then headed to a classroom seeing things likewere the Parrots and other birds rest "Off stage".In the classroom we got Water and snacks.She showed us a film (a short one)talked about how the some of the money we spent on the tour goese to the Conservation fund! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] Then to see the feed barn and visit the kithcen and the hospital.In the begianing of the tour Milissa had told us to think of a name for our "rock group" becuase when we got to the hospital guests would be seeing us back there and wondering who we were.So before going into the hosptal she asked if we had came up with any names.noone answered, ofcouers my mind had bin on it so I spoke up and said"The White Rinos"(becase we were all interested in them and had asked lots of Q's the whole time.After the hosptal we went back to the class room got to rest and more water and snacks.Filled out a poll form. Milissa gave us a special pin you can only get by takeing the tour and a book on the animals in AK.it was a 3 hour tour.(Should I have over packed for it?)I surgest you take this tour if you love animals as much as I do.Millissa was great.she dose a very good job. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] We got to take water with us and we went back to the front of the building.Time to say good by to our group.

Sue and I decided to look around there before going back to Africa.When we got back we grabbed a fastpass for Kilimanjro Safari.went to The Tusker House and had cake and cookies.and rested till time for our fastpass.only a half hour.We rreally didn't need the passes there wasn't a line,and the safri seemed to go faster then we had remebered.I think it was the driver. when we got back to Harambe it was almost time for the Parade to prmire so we fornd a spot to wacth.

There were CM's everywhere.thay gathered to support thier freinds.I love this one too. The music has a great beat and the floats are wild.Rafiki leads the way with Minnie,Donald,Goofy and plent of extras following.Mickey brings up the rear.I don't want to spoil it for you so I won't go into any more detail,but if you do want more please E-Mail me and I will give more to you.(I always find expareanceing thing without much detail can be better).after the parade we stopped to have lunch at Pizzasafri.then to the Maharajah Jungle trek to see the Tigers those girls are soooo Beautiful!!! [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] By time we got throught the trek it was 5pm. So back to the Hotel.
Oh and after the tour I found the new pins so I got the AK one.I bought one for me and one for Sue at a pin stand across form one fo the shops.As we walked a way a CM from the shop came running over to the other one and I could hear him saying "You actualy sold oof them." He was so excited.I figured I must have been the first to buy one that day.Too Cool! [img]images/icons/cool.gif[/img]

We went swimming when we got back and just relaxed the rest of the night.I don't remember what I had for dinner that night but ti was just at our hotel.

One question on the AK tour - were you able to take any pictures? My DH and I did the backstage magic tour before (awesome tour!) and I know we were able to take pictures in only a few spots (cell painting and cartoon drawing school and lunch). I assume that there is no picture taking but figured I would ask you since you just took the tour.

Sorry like any backstage tour the answer is no.I realy wish we could have.We got to see an elephant in the yard and he was beautiful.

That AK Tour sounds great. Do they name ALL of the animals Marcie? - We are doing our first tour this trip The Train Tour over in MK. Hopefully we can do this one next!
