Re: Family Trip - Day 6

I enjoyed your 6 part report. You really got to do a lot in your 4 park days... I know you missed a few things you wanted to do, but I'm really impressed with how much you got in. No wonder you were tired . Thanks for sharing with us. -HiddenMickey

Family Trip - Day 6

Family Trip – Day Six

Cast: DH – 39, Myself – 37, DS – 11, DS – 9
Date: Oct 15, 2001

Today was our last day, we had a flight to catch at 4:30 pm. Since I had only purchased 4-day Park Hopper Passes, I thought we would go to Disney Quest today. My boys love computers and video games so I thought this would be perfect for them. We got there before 10:30 and were one of the first ones in the building. My younger DS had not had breakfast so we went to get something to eat – cheesecake of course! Not nutritious unless you count the 3-4 strawberries on top. Oh well, it was the last day of vacation and there was nothing else to eat. Boy was it good! I wish we had one of these cheesecake places here at home.

Anyway, the high-light of the day was the Cyber coaster. The boys did this several times. I never did because I was feeling queasy, but I do love roller coasters. We ended up buying a video of one their creations. The last one they created was rated a “5” our of “5” for thrills and scary factor. They were quite proud!

We had fun playing on several of the games. My only complaint is how noisy and loud everything is. It really wears on you after a while. Also, the head gear for some the virtual reality games is very heavy. My 9 year old could not do it and I had a hard time also. We ate lunch upstairs and I bought another piece of cheesecake (vanilla bean) to take to the airport for a snack later (yum, yum).

We had no problems at the airport returning car, checking bags and getting through security. Of course we allowed ourselves plenty of time, probably more than we needed.

All in all it was a great trip, the CMs were all very nice, weather was great, parks were busy but not overly so. I did realize you can’t possibly do it all and even the best laid plans will go out the window at some point. But, that is the fun of it!!! I also didn’t realize how tired we would be, I don’t know how people stay for longer than a week.

Thanks for listening and let me know if there are any questions.
