Day 2 - MGM

For a day that started out so perfectly, who would have known that by the end I would have gladly traded 2 of my 3 children to Snow White's evil step mother for a poison apple. The only thing that stopped me is that I would have actually felt sorry for her.

I'm up and sitting by the pool with a cup of coffee just listening to the quiet by 5:30. Ahhh, life is good!! At 7, I start waking up the crew one by one. Bill, Steph, Tanner and last but not least, Melissa who starts yelling at me about waking her up so early. I should have know right then and there it was going to be an attitude kinda day. I swear, one of these days I'm going to shave that girls head just to make sure there aren't (3) 6's emblazoned on her scalp. [img]images/icons/shocked.gif[/img]

We finally get to MGM at 10:00 and Maleficent wants to stop and get a PS for a Fantasmic dinner package. When it's finally our turn, we are told that there is nothing open for a party of 5 and that we wouldn't be able to sit together. Since Steph has to leave to go back to West Palm the next day for a test that one of her professors won't let her make-up (grrr), I decide against it. Well, Maleficent didn't like that; basically told me I was an idiot and flounced out of the door. Oh yeah, it going to be a long day! I take a deep breath and wonder if anyone has ever been arrested in WDW for strangling her child or if I would be the first.

Our first stop is at the fast pass machine for Who Wants To Be A Millionair - Play It. We don't have to be back for an hour so we head over to the Studio Backlot Tour. We have to wait for 20 minutes for the previous group to move on and and the whole time we waited we were entertained by Tanner the Terror saying "I don't want to do this", "Let's go somewhere else", I hate it" (like he's ever been here before). Thankfully, the wait passed quickly and when we got inside and the show started he really got into it. When it was time to go on the tour ride itself I remembered reading in my trusty PassPorter that if you don't want to get wet to sit on the righthand side. So being the gracious mother & wife that I am, I let everyone board ahead of me. Tanner and Bill are the first ones in hehehe. [img]images/icons/tongue.gif[/img] As soon as they announce that the people sitting on the left were going to get wet, there went my big macho hubby whining about not wanting to get wet all over again. We thought the whole attraction was a good time but much to Tanner's disappointment nobody got wet. We checked out the costumes and bought a few things at the gift shop then it was on to Millionaire. With our fast passes we were the first ones in line and seated. This game is a total blast. The 1st time they checked the audiance scores I was 5th, WOW! We were tickled when the next contestant up was from our state of Conn. He was very calm and did well but missed on the 32,000 point question. As they went onto the final contestant they checked the scores and OH MY GOSH, I'm in first place and Maleficent is in 9th. In the end I blow the last question and don't even end up on the final tally board. Oh well, so much for my 15 minutes of fame.

Tanner had pics and autographs with Pooh and Tigger and finally with the big cheese himself Mickey. The look on his face when he looked up at Mickey was priceless!! We stop and get stale popcorn but wonderful pretzels to eat and to rest our feet for a little bit at the Studio Catering Co. Tanner played a bit at Honey I Shrunk the Kids Movie Set then we moved onto Muppet 3-D where there was just a few minutes wait before we were let in. I absolutely loved this show. [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] My favorites have always been the two old grouchy guys up in the balcony and as usual they didn't disappoint me. This show is just way too funny. After we leave we check out Mama Melrose and they actually have a PS for the Fantasmic dinner package where we can all sit together. As I'm making the PS I hear this indignant shriek coming out of Maleficent and turn in time to see her about to throttle her little brother. It seems that Tanner the Terror was living up to his name and pulled her dress up....way up. Bill in in absolute hysterics, Stephanie has her face buried in her hands and poor Maleficent is sputtering that Tanner is just plain evil and that it wasn't funny and that all she had on under her dress was thong underwear. Ok, now I'm rolling and trying very hard not to show it. The poor people at the reservations desk don't know what to make of it but I'm sure were praying that we'd cancel our ressies. Even though for Melissa's sake I'm glad there was no-one behind her when he did this, after the way she's behaved today I feel like high fiving the little demon. I lecture Tanner about why what he did was wrong and tell him to make up with his sister. He went to apologize but it seems Sissy was just a tad bit pissed off and won't have anything to do with him. Oh well, after all I've put up with from her so far today, my feelings at this time are what goes around comes around. Guess I'm not going to win the mother of the year award any time soon. It's about 1:30 and we decide that it might be a good idea right about now to go back to the house and let Tanner the Terror expend some of his energy in the pool and let Melissa try to gather some dignity before our dinner reservations. Right about now I'M wondering if it wouldn't be too early for a very refreshing, very large cocktail! [img]images/icons/rolleyes.gif[/img]

It sound like you had your hands full this trip.

I am still laughing about what Tanner did to his sis. Yes it was wrong........but you have to admit that was a kodak moment. LOL
