| PS - I luv WDW - Day One: Goodbye Boston, Hello Orlando! PS - I luv WDW goes to Disney Cast: Pam, 38, Planner of trip to Disney, 8th trip to WDW Brian, 42, Bears with the planner of the trip, sore back and all, 8th trip to WDW Dates: November 2 thru 10, 2001 Day One: Friday November 2, 2001 Left our house which is only about 20 miles south of Boston at 2:00 PM to get one of the Logan Express buses to Logan airport. Got the 2:30 bus to Boston and arrived at the airport about 3:05 (for a 6:30 PM flight!). Of course you never know what the traffic in Boston will be or what new traffic patterns the bus driver will be dealing with, so between that and the new security measures at the airport, we decided to air on the side of caution. Thanks to that planning and absolutely no lines at either the Delta Express counter or the security gate, we were at our gate by 3:30. Just in time to watch all of the people who were at the same gate also going to Orlando but luckily at 4:30. I would have loved to get on that flight, but since Delta in it’s infinite wisdom felt the need to cut back from 7 direct flights to only 4, all of the flights were overbooked so I felt lucky that our flights hadn’t changed (other than times) and that we had our seats. Thought about going back out to get Burger King for supper but one of Logan’s drawbacks is that most of the food options are located back outside of the security gate and by this time the line at the checkpoint was really long and they were checking almost all carry-ons and wanding the passengers, that I opted to go for the really expensive hotdogs and clam chowder that is still in the gate area. Finally got to load for our flight and head out on time. Upon arriving in Orlando, after a quick bathroom break and a phone call home to Mom and Dad to let them know that we had arrived safely, we went to the luggage carousel and much to our delight our luggage was already coming around! Walked down to National’s counter and had some confusion with the reservation (I had booked it thru the Lake Buena Vista website and you got an additional discount along with the Disney club discount, but I hadn’t printed some coupon which they insisted there should have been -which by the way never ‘popped’ up on my computer to print). I finally told them to please just take the Lake Buena Vista discount off so that we could get going. At this point, my husband’s back was really sore and he was very uncomfortable (for those of you who hadn’t read any of my previous posts, we almost didn’t go due to DH injuring his back) so the $14 savings really wasn’t that important (you will see this occurring more than once on the trip as I was more concerned for my husband than for the money). After a quick stop at McDonald’s (the one near AS hotels), we checked into Coronado Springs. This check-in also took a while considering that there was only one other party checking in. First they still had us staying there for the whole 8 nights instead of only 3, and then they seemed to have ‘lost’ the extra money I had authorized them to charge a few weeks before going (it was ‘found’ later – apparently CRO never downloaded the information to the hotel). Found out we did get a non-smoking room but in the Casita building not a Rancho. Not really a problem since we will only be there for 3 nights. Finally got to our room – we are on the third floor on Casita 3 overlooking the water!! Hit the pillows and quickly fell asleep. Tomorrow: Day Two... Was that rain we just felt?
