| Disney Quickie Part 2 - SM here we come and lost in the dark in the Polynesian Date: Tuesday, December 4, 2001 Adventurers: Me - TiggGrrrl AKA Jeannie DH - Joseph DS - Shane Resort: All Star Movies Celebration: Our 5th Anniversary 12/3 and DS's First Birthday 12/6! Still on the train, slept on and off until 7:00 then up for breakfast. Showered and dressed and waited to arrive in Orlando. We finally arrived at around 12:15 - a little late but not bad at all! Over to the Hertz counter to pick up our car – a 2001 Toyota Camry, very nice – and red too! No waiting thanks to Hertz #1 Club Gold reservation – so worth the membership fee, I highly recommend joining. It took about ½ hour to get from the Amtrak station to the All Star Movies – no traffic. No line at check-in but our room wasn’t ready so we got all our papers and stuff and headed over to the food court for lunch. Food court is quite large with a decent selection of foods including salads, burgers, chicken sandwiches and tenders, Philly cheese steaks, etc. We got 2 tenders meals w/fries and a refillable mug – a great value here since it’s free refills. After lunch, Joseph called to see if our room was ready and sure enough it was. I had faxed a request for the Toy Story section, preferably Buzz Lightyear and that’s just what we got. Our room overlooked “Andy’s Room” with the absolutely gargantuan Buzz and Woody as well as Rex, Bo Peep & a great big checker board with Mickey checkers. Just outside the giant door to “Andy’s Room” is a little “road” with RC on it – which I just had to sit Shane in . Once we were settled in our room, we headed out to MK – around 3:00. They were closing at 6:00 that night and we were tired so we figured we’d spend a couple of hours there and head home. Got there and exchanged our PAP renewal vouchers for new PSP’s and we were on our way. After a quick stop for Magic Moments pins, we head over to Space Mountain for our traditional first ride. No wait, I ride first, then Joseph rides while Shane and I munch on Teddy Grahams. Next we all got to ride Buzz Lightyear together – WOO HOO! Shane loved every minute of it, even tried to spin the car and shoot the laser gun. His face was priceless; I enjoyed it so much more through his eyes. Again, there was not much of a wait – less than 5 minutes. Joseph kicked my booty, beating me by 100,000 points – give or take 10,000 – I did have a baby on my lap though! Next up was the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh – I just love that ride! And I’m happy to say Shane did too! When we were waiting on line (less than 5 minutes) we walked pas a picture of Pooh and he started jumping up and down in my arms and squealing! It was the cutest thing! His room is done with Pooh & friends so it seems he recognized his pals! Our turn came to board a hunny pot and he was so excited – Joseph and I couldn’t stop smiling. He giggled and squealed throughout the ride, especially when Tigger appeared – I just love when the hunny pot bounces! When the ride was over, we headed over to ride Dumbo with no wait at all! I have always dreamed of riding it with my baby someday and today was that day – it brought tears to my eyes. He loved going up and down and cried when it was over. Lastly, we went on the Carousel, which is one of my favorites (I collect carousel horses) and then we headed out. We took the monorail back to the TTC and then walked over to the Poly to check out the holiday decorations and the Wyland Gallery. After wandering around in the dark for 15 minutes we eventually find the Great Ceremonial House. Both the decorations and the gallery are absolutely beautiful! Back on the monorail – this time the resort line – to the TTC to catch the tram to Goofy parking. A quick stop at the food court to fill up my mug and it’s off to our room for pizza delivery dinner – the food court was way too packed to have dinner. Happy surprise upon our return to the room – a dozen beautiful roses (red, white, peach and white w/red tips) in an amazing blue vase with bride and groom Mickey and Minnie etched on it and says Walt Disney World on it! Yesterday, 12/3, was our 5th anniversary and we were on the train all day so there wasn’t any celebrating and this was a lovely surprise from my wonderful husband.
