Re: Tikibird Flies Over the Hill in the World: June/July 2002 WL - Completed w/photos I'm anxiously awaiting the next part of your report! I'm so glad you included pictures. Your camera really is fantastic! We got a new digital camera right before our trip. It's the best thing we've ever bought! Your boys are so cute! If only I were 20 years younger! I'm still expecting to hear you've enjoyed the hot tub! I miss it already! Laura

| Re: Tikibird Flies Over the Hill in the World: June/July 2002 WL - Completed w/photos As usual, a great report. And what a good looking family, if I were only 10 years younger, and your sons..... | Re: Tikibird Flies Over the Hill in the World: June/July 2002 WL - Completed w/photos I agree - great pictures! I especially like the shots of your boys at AK. I'm always the one who ends up taking the pictures in our family, then I get the same looks you got! If someone else would just take the pictures, they wouldn't have to be in them! |

Re: Tikibird Flies Over the Hill in the World: June/July 2002 WL - Completed w/photos Tikibird, I love your pictures, you really did a great job (I figured out that I just can't see them at work). Your Chris and my Matthew may be related. I told Matthew that he is going to wake up one morning and discover that he has turned into a chicken. I have to ask you is the World of Disney store the store that is right next to the LEGO store when you next to the parking lot. If so, I wonder how I missed all that great stuff........hmm another reason for us to go back.

Re: Tikibird Flies Over the Hill in the World: June/July 2002 WL - Completed w/photos Ok, Tikibird, where's the next installment? I've spent the last 30 minutes catching up on your report from the very beginning, and now I'm left with a cliffhanger!? Seriously, this is a great report. You and Steve set the gold standard for writing trip reports, and I wish I could manage to include as many details and funny stories as you do. Hurry with the next installment - I can't wait!

Re: Tikibird Flies Over the Hill in the World: June/July 2002 WL - Completed w/photos Day Three – Sunday, June 30th, Part One – Breakfast at Cindy’s and Chris gets a haircut! The little cutie Stitch wakes me up at 7:17 a.m., and boy, am I excited! This is our morning for breakfast with Cindy! Now, although I have a reservation for 4, Gonzo is adamant that he wants to be one of the first in line to see Figment in JIYI (this is our Epcot day), so he and the Food Police bow out. Our PS is for 9:00 a.m., and I’m looking forward to getting to spend some quality time with Chris, who loves the breakfast at Cindy’s and insists on getting his picture with every lovely princess there! I am unsure if there is a character breakfast bus, and forgot to ask, so we just head down to the dock at 8:15 a.m., as I am really excited to be able to take the boat from the resort to the MK. I have to ask for directions to the dock down by the pool, but we finally find it, and notice that the first boat doesn’t run until 8:30 a.m., but we decide to wait. The first boat that comes by has the wrong color flag, as it is heading to the resorts, but our boat arrives shortly after. Chris and I attempt to get the front seats on the boat, but a really CHEESY family cuts in front of us with two strollers and after what seems like an hour, maneuvers the strollers into the front seats before we can get to them. Now these people were just annoying. I don’t know what it was, but even the oldest little girl was annoying. She just did not look the least bit enthused about being at Disney – even Chris mentioned how uninspired this family was. Our boat leaves the dock, and what an awesome feeling to be taking this little boat over to the MK! We pass the Contemporary, and for the first time, I get to see what the garden rooms look like. I don’t think I would want to stay there unless I could get a tower room. We pull up to the dock, and from our last PS at Cindy’s, know to go to the far left of the gates to the PS line. The CM there stops me and says “Are you a tikibird (I had my Passporter pin on, of course!)? I replied that I was! He finds our PS and notes that we only have 2 people, but ressies for 4. I tell him the other 2 are not coming, and he says “Wow, you could take two more people here with you!” So I invite him, but unfortunately, he has to check off other guests, so Chris and I enter the gates. Cruella is vamping it up for the crowd, along with a little girl, who will obviously go far some day! Too cute – took this one for Joanne! As we enter Main St., I am again awed by the simple beauty and charm. The street was basically deserted, other than a few CM, so I take advantage to take a couple of shots. We take our time walking up Main St., as we still have about 15 minutes prior to our PS. Chip and Dale are in front of the castle, and not too busy, so I happily ask Chris to take my picture with them. As you can see, it looks as though we had the park to ourselves. Check out the castle! When we go to check in for our PS, I mention that we only have 2, not 4. (BTW, I tried to change this the night before and was told that they could only cancel and rebook, which would most likely mean that I would lose the PS – so I did try to let 2 more people get a chance!). We are told that then we will have the best seat in the house. They were not kidding! When we get to the top of the stairs, we are led to a small table for two looking directly over the carousel! I’m impressed! Our waiter does not seem to notice us for some time, but finally comes around to ask what we would like (no healthy breakfast eaters here!), and bring the muffins/croissants. Chris and I still agree that we like the croissants much better than the chocolate muffins. The food is very good – the breakfast potatoes and French toast are the best!!!! Chris gets to visit with all the lovely ladies, and still thinks that Belle is the best, although I’m posting this shot with Aurora to mix things up a bit! Overall, the breakfast was very nice (we used 2 Connections vouchers to pay), and the opportunity to be in the part with so little people is worth its weight in gold! For those that have never been, I’m including this shot, which is a bit dark, but gives you an idea what the atmosphere is like. Of course, no trip to the MK would be complete, without a picture of Partners - at least this is a differnt angle for me! We realize it’s time to head over to Epcot to catch up with Andy and Craig, but after a quick walk through the Emporium a thought hits me – “Hey Chris, don’t you need a haircut?.......”
